I just made this recipe for lunch today.. I've been making Korean food for about 5 years but never made myeokguk because I was afraid I wouldn't like it.. I've been missing out! Omg it was SO good!! I'll be making it more often and especially in my birthday next month ❤ beautiful recipe and flavor!
Thank you! I’m Mexican but have heard great things about seaweed soup for postpartum so I want to make this for when I have my baby in October. Warm, comforting, hearty & healthy foods sound amazing for that time period & for fall.
Your fans are well guided with your detail presentation. Glad to tune in as my grand daughter birthday in September and will boil this Korean speciality. Thank you Chef.❤
Very classy presentation. I like the background music. Its calming. The soup looks very healthy and appetizing. High in iodine and fiber content and low in salt. Well done, Jia!
Love your video and your style! I cook Miyeok Guk often. The only different step is that I fry minced garlic before the beef as I don't like the raw garlic taste. :) Will check out more videos on your channel.
Felicidades!! veo tu casita por primera vez y me gusta todo lo que compartes con todos , me encanta como explicas paso a paso todas tus recetas, mil gracias por compartir todos tus tips y todas tus recetas deliciosas, éxitos en tu bella casita!
I feel good when I see videos that look delicious. It looks even more delicious with the precious recipe. I'll take a good look. I hope we can grow up this year and cook together without any nationality. That's my wish this year. It would be fun to double-cook it together, wouldn't it? ^^ First of all, I cheer for you from afar.😉
I've watched a few videos now on how to make this, but I like yours the best! It seems traditional to make it with water, but could you use a broth instead for extra flavor or minerals/vitamins?
I wonder what the name of the seaweed is? I am ignorant about eating seaweed. I have learned that seaweed is highly nutritional. I like how she sets other dishes that are usually eaten with seaweed soup. That is something that lacks in other cooking channels I noticed. Excellent clip thank you for posting.
Stir fry in a medium heat than it won't go up to 180 degrees. It's not good to deep fry with sesame oil but most stir-fried dishes don't go over 180 degrees celcius : )
I added light or soup soy sauce and salt, but you can also mix light soy sauce with fish sauce. Just add a small amount of fish sauce for a subtle flavor boost, as too much can overpower the taste of the soup. :)
My seaweed finally arrived from Korea today! I've been looking forward to this for so long! Thank you, as always, for sharing♥️.

I've never tried it that way, but why not? I would mix the broth with some water to thin it out a bit. 😊
i wanna try this soon

It's called miyeok in Korean and wakame in Japanese. Dried seaweed is typically used to make this dish. Thanks for the comment!

Wow! I loved your video. My best friend's name is also Jia 😁
This is great, thank. you. Question, is there a particular dry seaweed brand that you'd recommend?
Not really. I use dried seaweed, miyeok in Korean or wakame in japanese. : )
I need to make this asap!!🤤
I really love your videos easy to understand😊
I'll definitely cook this at home ❤
Can I eat this every morning

Massiseo Boinda! 🥩🥬🥘🥄🥢
I love your recipe 😋😋
ah... Looks so good!!!
Great thanks🙏🏻gamsahamnida
Thank you! I used Wakame is it ok?
Yes. Wakame is a japanese word for the dried seaweed. It's a same thing!
Hi Jia. I'm going to try your recipe tonight! Did you use the water that you soaked the seaweed in?
No I didn’t but there’s no problem using it😉👍
Well done
Thank you for the comment!😀
Can this soup be vegetarian style ? What ingredients should I use ?
Yes this soup can be made in a few different versions. Use vegetable broth(kelp+shiitake mushrooms broth is good) and other ingredients are the same.
No vegetables? And does seaweed taste like spinach?
Can I use Sushil seaweed please
Sushi seaweed is not for soups. You may use Japanese wakame which is other type of seaweed same as miyeok, the one that I used . : )
Can I use Pork instead of Beef?
I haven't try with pork but there is a region that makes this soup using pork. I recommend to use lean part of the pork : )
What type of seaweed should I use?
I use the dried seaweed called "miyeok" in Korean. You may use "wakame" which is the same thing in Japanese : )
@@JiaChoiChef Thank you
Is it okay to use sesame oil for stir frying? They said sesame oil can cause cancer if you cook it over 200degree heat.
Stir fry in a medium heat than it won't go up to 180 degrees. It's not good to deep fry with sesame oil but most stir-fried dishes don't go over 180 degrees celcius : )
How does the beef cook so fast? Whenever I cook beef, I spent at least 2 hours boiling the meat otherwise it is not tender.
Cut the beef smaller before cooking, than it'll take less time to make a broth and will taste tender. : )
Fish sauce? Or soy sauce?
I added light or soup soy sauce and salt, but you can also mix light soy sauce with fish sauce. Just add a small amount of fish sauce for a subtle flavor boost, as too much can overpower the taste of the soup. :)
it's my big sister's birthday this weekend but she is sick! I know this might help her.
우아하시다
Im cooking it right now. I accidentally added dark soy sauce 🤪
If it’s not too salty add a bit of salt. No more dark soy sauce🙂
@@JiaChoiChef I'll try it again next time. Thank you for this recipe! It taste great.
This beef looks like wagyu japanese beef
I used Korean beef, Hanu. It makes a nice broth. I recommend to use any high quality beef for this soup!
It's better to say korean Miyeok guk nto korean seaweed soup
In korean seaweed is Miyeok
