@LucieV I have two reccomendations for them.
      1. When a man loves a woman.
      2. The bass voice haha Tim Foust does a cover of Will you still love me tomorrow/stay that is amazing. He has a 5 octave range.

    • @Back2SquareOne
      @Back2SquareOne ปีที่แล้ว +2

Yes, it is them singing acapella. HOWEVER, like most music videos, the sound is heavily produced in the studio. You simply don't get this level sound from a 1 take, raw group recording. They are amazing singers and I would dearly love to hear them live, but the produced recordings are always going to have more sonic polish, better balance, and potentially more complexity. The fact that their recordings are well produced take nothing away from them as world class singers but should be kept in mind when comparing to other performances/recordings.

    Great Reaction!!
The group started in 2001 by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp
They are the only country A Capella ( All vocals no instruments)group but they can honestly sing any genre and they do
They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular.
Fans of Home Free are known as Home Fries and are very loyal to the guys.
Adam Rupp: Beatboxer Extraordinaire -Tenor can make any sound imaginable (A whole drum kit, harmonicia (his Nomonica we call it )plane flyovers, trains, castanets, bugs ,birds etc).
    Co founder from Mankato Minnesota.
Rob Lundquist :Lead tenor(beard and glasses) very soulful voice from Minneapolis,Minnesota
Tim Foust :Bass (had long dark hair now short with grey ) 5+ octave range can go so low he blows speakers or sky high from Nederland,Texas
Austin.Brown:High Tenor ( Long wavy hair ) voice of an angel from Tifton Georgia.
Adam Chance(Aka Chance):Baritone/Bass deep, rich voice(Does the juice harp in Man Of Constant Sorrow) has short dark hair short beard from Baldwin County,Alabama.Replaced Chris Rupp ( Adams Brother and co founder)in 2016
There is no lead singer they each sing the song ( except Adam the beatboxer) to see who’s voice or voices suits it the best. Adam can sing but he prefers beatboxing to hear him sing listen to How Great Thou Art or th-cam.com/video/Sm1xhYZiSrM/w-d-xo.html
They have collaborated with many great singers and legends
    Don McLean:American Pie
    Oak Ridge Boys:Elvira
Kenny Rodgers:Children Go Where I Send Thee
    Billy Gilman:One Voice
    Alabama:Christmas In Dixie
Lee Greenwood/ The United States Air Force Band :God Bless The USA
    Any many more.
They have a very large playlist of covers and Original songs
End of the Road: Boyz 2 Men cover
    When A Loves A Woman
    Road Sweet Road (original)
    Dive Bar Saints (Original)
    Helplessly Hoping (5 part harmony)
    Listen To The Music
    Butts Melody/ Remix ( hilarious)
Mayday(DON’T WATCH TILL YOU ARE VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE GROUP AND THEIR RANGES )
There's not a song that you pick from their 155 + catalog that is bad I haven't found one yet.
They are just funny, down to earth, humble nice guys.Sorry for the long read

"Home Free Vocal Band" is a country a Capella group that won season 4 of the "Sing Off". Adam Rupp (world class beat boxer) and his brother Chris Rupp (left band in 2016) founded the band in 2001. Tim Foust - Incredible Bass, Rob Lundquist and Austin Brown - Amazing Tenors, Adam "Chance" - Smooth Baritone/Bass. I think “Man of Constant Sorrow” is their consummate Song/Video. Their catalog is huge with many, many outstanding songs. 50% Pop/Classic's, 30% Country, 15% Inspiring, 5% Goofy Fun, 200% Entertaining, 100% Humble.

Great reaction and thanks for sharing. Home Free is one of the best a cappella groups out there. They sing other types of music, pop, soul, folk, country, rock. They have hundreds of songs free here on the internet. 'Ring of Fire'; 'Helplessly Hoping'; 'All about that Base'; '7 Bridges Road'; 'Do you hear what I hear'; Gospel music too. Plus originals. All them, no instruments. They won a season of the show Sing Off the year after Pentatonix won it. Chris

You have just been introduced to the best a cappella group out there. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
Some of my favorites are "Take Me Home Country Roads", "In The Blood", "Ring Of Fire", "Blue Ain't Your Color", "How Great Thou Art", "Elvira", "Hillbilly Bone", "American Pie", "Brother In Arms", "One Man Band", "Listen To The Music", "Sea Shanty Medley" etc.

I love watching reactors watch this video for the first time - it’s almost like seeing them for the first time all over again! This is the first song I heard from them and was immediately hooked. They are 100% a cappella in most of their videos. Some of their stuff does include instruments, but they are prominently displayed, so you always know for sure.
You are so screwed (but in a good way), as this rabbit hole is deep! And if you react to Home Free, Home Fries (their fans, like myself) will come in droves to point the way and share the journey - because, honestly, we all love to see New Fries being born. Don’t worry, though, we’re an enthusiastic but friendly bunch.🙃
The usual next songs to watch are Ring of Fire, End of the Road or Folsom Prison Blues. All are very good introductions to Home Free and well worth watching.
Let’s introduce you to our boys:
Front left is the awesome silky smoothness of lead tenor Rob “the beard” Lundquist. A few of my favorites featuring him are End of the Road, Blue Ain’t Your Color and Bless the Broken Road.
Back left is newest member, baritone Adam Chance, called Chance due to another Adam in the group. I love him in Winter Song, One Man Band, Helplessly Hoping, and Castle on the Hill. He took over when co-founding member Chris Rupp left the group in 2016 on good terms. You’ll see Chris in older videos like Ring of Fire (which also features Avi Kaplan, formerly of Pentatonix). Chance is the one doing the mouth harp here.
Front center is the amazing high tenor Austin Brown. Watch When a Man Loves a Woman.
That’s all that needs to be said.
    Seriously.
Back right is founding member, beatboxer, tenor, and vocal percussionist Adam “Freak of nature” Rupp. His talent covers not only drums and the “no monica”, but extends into animal/bug noises (woodpecker and flying insects in this video) and DJ-style record scratching. He has several “drum solos” out there, but my favorite is the one where he’s wearing a red plaid shirt. He doesn’t usually sing solos, but you can hear his voice in How Great Thou Art, which is probably the most beautiful version I’ve ever heard. To highlight Adam, I recommend Ain’t Goin’ Down (only on Home Free’s FB page due to some copyright issues, but can be reacted on YT), Listen to the Music, and one of my personal favorites, Do You Hear What I Hear, which he arranged. His beatboxing is amazing in everything they do!
Last, but certainly not least, front right is basso profundo Tim Foust, apparently part dragon with a 5+ octave range. His low notes have literally blown speakers. I love him in Hillbilly Bone, In the Blood, My Church, O Holy Night, Brothers in Arms, and Mary Did You Know (and so, so many others!). He also did a collaboration with Peter Hollens (another a cappella singer) on Misty Mountains (from The Hobbit) that is amazing!
To see their funny side (and they are all hams to a certain degree), see The Butts Remix (hilarious!), Champagne Tastes (written by Tim), Cold Hard Cash (written by Austin), Full of Cheer, Country Fried Pop, and All About the Bass. To hear their exquisite harmonies, How Great Thou Art, Do You Hear What I Hear, and Brothers in Arms.
Home Fries recommend that you don’t see Mayday until you’re familiar with the guys and know their (usual) roles. Trust us on this one!
Any song they do won’t disappoint … Home Fries call their covers “upgrades.” They lean country, but do pretty much every genre-even opera! This group has 5 tenors, 5 beatboxers, 2 bases, and 2 baritones. These guys have no egos and choose who leads by who they think does the best job. They are all genuinely funny, down to earth guys who can make you laugh hysterically in one song and cry in the next with their amazing talent.
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole! It’s deep, but you’ll never want to escape!

All the sounds are made by them. The lead is Austin Brown (high tenor). Next with glasses is Rob Lundquist (tenor). Tim Foust is the bass (he has a 5 octave range). In the background is Adam Chance (shown in profile at the end) their baritone, who also is making the "Jaw Harp" sound. Last but definitely not least is Adam Rupp (one of the group founders and a champion beatboxer) doing the beat and harmonica sounds.

When Tim, the bass, ends his verse. & the rest join in, he drops another octave. Most people don’t notice it the first time. A funny video is Brother. So much fun watching the action I had to replay it many times before I could concentrate on the song. Sea Shanty Medley is another that shows the wide range of sounds that the (main) beatboxer ca make.

All voices only. Tim Foust did the crazy low bass notes, often sounding like a bass guitar or double bass.
Adam Rupp (white tank top and dark suspenders) did the drum kit sounds and harmonica sounds.
Chance (Adam Chance) ( brown vest and hat) did the jaw harp twanging sound using a sort of harmonic overtone technique and also sang baritone. He probably covered bass when Tim was singing lead, which was mostly in the baritone range.
And Austin Brown and Rob Lundquist sang tenor leads.

The first sound that you hear is being produced by the group. The instrument is called a jews harp/jaw harp (juice harp (because it can cause drooling) or a Chang in the Middle East. It is known by several names across the globe. It’s actually fairly easy to reproduce. It uses the tongue and the further back part of the soft palate.

Hi Lucie! Loved you reaction. Take a listen to this Home Free: Drum Solo [SPM ST15] if you want to know how the sounds are made. Adam Rupp is phenomenal and is an international beatbox champion. I think you'll be very impressed. Have a great day!

Yup. Just them. No instruments. Just 5 great voices. I recommend The Driver or Helplessly Hoping for something totally different from this very country song. Welcome to the Home Free party.

That sound in the beginning and the end are that of
A mouth harp / jews harp. It is being done by the last man you see in the video. If you watch as it is ending, you can see he is doing that sound with his mouth. These guys never use instruments.

New subscriber. Great reaction, too! I love it when people discover Home Free. They are a freakishly talented group of fellas! They can make you laugh sometimes, they can make you cry sometimes but they always impress. Here's a cheat sheet on the group: Adam Rupp, co-founder of HF and the awesome beatboxer. Tim Foust, bass. He has a five-octave range. Rob Lundquist (glasses and beard) Tenor Harmony. Austin Brown, Lead Tenor. Adam Chance, Baritone ( goes by Chance). Chance replaced Chris Rupp (co-founder) who left in 2016. Take Me Home Country Roads is phenomenal but you might also want to check out Dreamer, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road, One Man Band, I Swear, Blue Ain't Your Color, Dive Bar Saints and Folsom Prison Blues. For some funny ones: Butts Medley, All About That Bass, Champagne Taste, Hillbilly Bone. For some serious ones: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain. When you are familiar with all the boys and their vocal roles, do Mayday. And last but not least, Brothers In Arms. It is haunting and beautiful. They have recently released several new songs that you will want to check out. Unchained Melody, Listen to the Music, Brother...the list goes on. To switch it up..try Two Country Singers try singing Opera. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole!

Home Free never uses instruments unless it's in a collaboration with another artist, then the instrument is visible.
