Welcome to the best, in my opinion, acapella group out there, although Pentatonix and Voiceplay are also fantastic. Home Free is the only Country all vocal band, they have a wide variety of covers and original material that covers all genres. All sounds are created by voices and they have a "freak of nature" vocal percussionist. The harmonies are unmatched...welcome to the rabbit hole. Austin Brown is the high tenor, Rob Lundquist is a lyrical tenor, Adam Chance is the baritone/bass and was making the mouth harp sound, Tim Foust is the bass with a 5+ octave range and Adam Rupp is the beatboxer legend. In older videos there is Chris Rupp who co-founded the group with his brother Adam. They also won the 4th season of "The Sing Off". All individuals are extremely talented individually and have their own projects...but together it is magic, and they sound the same, if not better, live. Subscribed to follow you on this journey.

nope, not related. There used to be 2 brothers, but one left to follow his own career. Home Free's harmonies are unmatched , not only in a capella, but across the board. Enjoy their DEEP catalog - country, pop, R&B, sacred, silly, patriotic - if you can't find something you like, you aren't trying.

That was Adam Rupp - beatboxer/percussionist extraordinaire playing his infamous "nomonica". Adam "Chance" - baritone was making the mouth harp sound. These guys are simply incredible! Hope to see more Home Free reactions! Btw, fans of Home Free are called home fries ----> 🍟😅

Congrats on finding the most incredible acapella group out there, and yes, I'm biased, and yes, they are better than Pentatonix. Don't @ me. You will LOVE going down the Home Free rabbit hole. They do mostly country music covers and originals, but can perform all styles, such as the R&B classic Boys II Men cover of "End of the Road," and the Doobie Brothers' "Listen to the Music." Get ready to be flooded with the Home Fries (Home Free fans) in the comments! Great reaction, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Please react to more!

TH-cam was made for Home Free and they have made great use of this platform. Acapella music doesn’t have much of a presence on the AM/FM dial especially the modern genres. Originally HF was started by beatboxed Adam Rupp and his brother Chris. Chris left to do solo work and was replaced by another Adam who goes by his last name Chance differentiating from beatboxer Adam. In the Butts remix you will see Chris wearing a black western style hat. You will also hear the whistling talent of lead tenor Robb. I’m looking forward to seeing your reaction to the Butts. 😂ps: the two previous commenters were just wrong.

Welcome to the Home Free party. Best a capella group out there. A couple of suggestions for your next listen: if you're all about the harmonies, their version of How Great Thou Art is a master class in 5-part harmony. If you're all about the vocal percussion, their cover of the Doobie Brothers classic Listen to the Music will knock your socks off. If you're all about the bass, Your Man is the place to go. Only about 200 more to go. Enjoy the ride!

WirlessMikeDJ gave you a perfect synopsis of the members of Home Free. They are called a country a cappella group, but they cover all genres of music. Their renditions of When A Man Loves A Woman (Percy Sledge/Michael Bolton), Listen To The Music (The Doobie Brothers), and Working For A Living (Huey Lewis and the News) show their R&B and rock n roll chops. Their covers of 2 Johnny Cash songs, Folsom Prison Blues and Ring Of Fire (feat. Avi Kaplan of Pentatonix), are also worth a listen. The looks on your faces when Tim Foust (bass) began soloing was hilarious. 😂 Thanks for the reaction and puff puff pass.✌️

You may have noticed how many Home Free fans saw your video pop up in their recommendation feeds -- mine included! This a cappella vocal band is at the top of the game, and are so, so, so talented! It's easy to forget that there are absolutely NO instruments in their performances (unless visible to the audience)! Your reaction to this was great, and I hope to see you following HF for a long time to come. FYI: Adam Rupp is the unbelievably good beatboxer. Austin Brown is the tenor who had most of the lead; Tim Foust is the bass that has a 5+ octave range. Rob Lunquist is the other tenor lead, and Adam Chance (called "Chance") was baritone and the jaw harp "synthesizer".

You have just been introduced to the best a cappella group out there. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there (5 octave range) & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound (drums, harmonica etc.). This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.

Caution - Home Free is highly addictive. They sing almost every genre from goofy to gospel. Three of them are song writers so there are lots of originals as well as covers. They don't have a lead singer (they're also ego-free), whomsoever sounds best, sings it regardless if another wrote it. Bonus: They have a world-wide fan base and your subscriptions will rise exponentially with playing them. (One of them just put out a new original song - no video yet - it's had over 25,000 hits in 4 days).

"End of The Road" Boyz to Men" cover.
"Helplessly Hoping" Crosby, Stills and Nash cover. 5 part harmony. Hauntingly beautiful.
"How Great Thou Art" one of the most beautiful renditions of this song I've ever heard, filmed in Austria.
"Show Me a Sign" from their Stargazer Trilogy one of their newest and an original.

Here for more Home Free. Dont judge their versatility and unique talents till youve heard more of their music. They do covers of all genres and their originals are fantastic. There may be only five of them but this group has 2 bass, 3 baritones 4 tenors, 4 leads, a out of this world beat boxer and the rest can do a bit of beat boxing themselves. Tim Foust (dragon breath) the Bass has a 5 octave range, which will blow your mind. Adam Rupp (freak of nature) is the founding member, along with his brother Chris Rupp, who left in 2014 (?) and found his replacement with Adam Chance (who goes by Chance). He is a beautiful baritone and does bass when Tim is flexing his higher ranges. Austin Brown the high tenor has no limit to how high he can sing and loves to smile, flash those eyes and yes, wink at the ladies. Rob Lunquist (the Beard), tenor can whistle better than anyone ive ever heard and can add soul to any song. They won season 9 of the Sing Off, the year after Pentatonix won. I've barley scratched the surface of their make up ( i only found them in May of 2021), so please dive in and experience these wonderful down to earth gentleman, for yourselves. Any song you pick is a winner. Just hold off on Mayday till You've got a bit of their music under your belt.😁💕 ENJOY!

They filmed this in coastal Alabama, much of which is bayou like the southern part of Louisiana. It started raining during the filming, but they had to get it done, so they kept going - you can see them getting wetter, and occasionally you can see the drips of rain.
Everything was produced vocally, including the vinyl record popping at the very beginning. The droning sound was an imitation of a jaw harp (known by various names), which the lady on the right mimed effectively. Chance (dark vest here) does this by Mongolian throat singing, but they use a looper as it is hard on his throat to keep doing it. The rhythmic dop-dops are done by Rob, in the overalls, also extended by using a looper, as it would prevent him from doing his other parts. The looper is also used for the beatbox percussion while Adam Rupp (no beard) does his 'nomonica' solo.

Wonderful introduction to your channel for me. Home Free definitely harkens back to the country gospel quartets of decades past. In fact, their mentors are the Oak Ridge Boys whose current lineup has been together for almost 5 decades and are STILL touring. The Oak Ridge Boys, themselves, began as a gospel quartet back in the 1940. The current lineup came together in the mid 1970s. Home Free did a collaboration with them on a cover of the Oaks' biggest hit "Elvira". Two powerful vocal groups blend seamlessly while showing off the talents of the individuals in each group. Well worth the reaction/podcast time.

Home Free won the 2014 Sing Off and have been around for about 20 years. The members have changed somewhat over the years. I recommend you start the journey with Home Free - 2014 Sing OFF. The beat-boxer is Adam Rupp (MN) (one of the original members of Home Free has won several Beat-Boxer competitions. Rob Lundquist (MN) is a tenor and wears glasses with the great beard. Tim Foust is the bass - yet has a 5 octave range (TX), Austin Brown (GA) is the other tenor - wow what a range. Adam Chance (Chance) (FL) was the latest member taking the place of Chris Rupp (original member of Home Free). They do a lot of covers as well as their original songs - you will not regret the journey. Good job on this reaction.

I think for a proper introduction to Austin (high tenor) you might consider When A Man Loves A Woman.
For the beatboxer, Adam Rupp, he has several "drum solos" which are phone recordings of live performances so not the best sound quality but my goodness he is amazing and it's well worth checking those out! He always does amazing work in each song, but some songs others have mentioned are Listen To The Music, Elvira... I could list every single song they do to recommend him lol!
For Rob (big beard) I'd suggest End Of The Road but I'm sure other HF's will remind me of other songs where he is featured and does a remarkable job.
For Chance (jaw harp in Man of Constant Sorrow) maybe Cover Me Up or Some Girls Do. He has such a good baritone voice!
For Tim (bass) - wow. So many. He is just an amazing talent. For a constant low melody, Brothers In Arms. But over half of their songs contain at least a note or two of his fire breathing, subwoofer busting explosion. Edit: Side note - in earlier videos (like this one) he has longer hair. He cut his hair during covid so sometimes reactors are confused when they see one or two of their older videos, then see a newer one. The hair cut really changed his appearance but it's still Tim! You might also check out his collaboration with Peter Hollens of Misty Mountains. Listen all the way to the last note...
Just one word of advice - save Mayday for some day a bit the road - after you've gotten to know everyone's "normal" role in the group.
I gotta stop now or i'll write a book and get kicked off. Enjoy, and thanks so much for this reaction!

Great reaction! I'm glad you really noticed the beatboxing. In my opinion, this alone makes Home Free the best a capella group out there. I've seen the performance live and it is an experience. A new subscriber to watch you fall into this rabbit hole.

Well, hi! 'So nice to see a female reactor group, for a change. Yup, I was in school choirs, too, so I love acapella like Home Free and VoicePlay, especially. They all have a beat boxer, now, and act out themes , comedy, any kind of creative performance that strikes them. Fun suggestions: Home Free doing "Hillbilly Bone" and VoicePlay doing "Hoist the Colours".

My two favorite capela groups are VoicePlay and Home Free. The bass from VoicePlay Geoff Castellucci just did a LOW Bass cover of this song. They are both on my playlist. Geoff and Tim's bass voices are amazing.

For you guys I suggest best solo - When a Man Loves a Woman, Best cover - End of the Road, funniest - we'll go with Butts Remix but many good choices, Best arrangement - Do you hear what i hear (yep xmas but like you've never heard it) and finally couple of faves - One Man Band, Mayday and Bless this Broken Road. And then there are there individual performances. Tim Faust - doo wop album, Austin _ Bring Him Home (amazing)

There are several great acapella groups out thee, next you might want to check out Pentatonix, 3 Grammy Awards, over 5 billion views and won The Sing Off the season before Home Free won the same show. And as to Man of Constant Sorrows, there is a reference By Alexander Graham Bell of recording the folk song in 1880s to 1890s. written records date back to 1795 so it is an OLD folk song. Still Home Free does it some real justice. Now go forth and enjoy and share all the great music from Home Free, Pentatonix, VoicePlay, Voxtive, and the rest.

Some people say it sounds like a mouth harp or didgeridoo. The guy in the back beside the beatboxer did that sound going in and out of the video. The high lead 1 tenor is Austin, the lower tenor (glasses)was Rob, the baritone and guy who also made that sound is Chance, Adam is the beatboxer and Tim is the superbass guy (but he can sing higher as well because he has a 5-octave range)

  • @bonnibobb1628
    @bonnibobb1628 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes, these guys are the best acapella group out there. If you find yourselves loving acapella then the next group I strongly recommend is Voice Play. Geoff Castellucci is another fantastic bass singer. I particularly love Voice Play's version of Oogie Boogie. This one really showcases Geoff's range. That said, ALL the guys in Home Free have wonderful voices. A truly fun song is Champagne Taste On A Beer Budget. Ring of Fire is great because they feature Avi Kaplan from Pentatonix (my third fav on the acapella road trip) and he and Tim hit some truly low notes. Enjoy the rabbit hole! ...it's called a jaw harp. No, none of the members are related. The beatboxer's brother used to be part of the group, but he left several years ago.

New subscriber. Great reaction, too! I love it when people discover Home Free. They are a freakishly talented group of fellas! They can make you laugh sometimes, they can make you cry sometimes but they always impress. Here's a cheat sheet on the group: Adam Rupp, co-founder of HF and the awesome beatboxer. Tim Foust, bass. He has a five-octave range. Rob Lundquist (glasses and beard) Tenor Harmony. Austin Brown, Lead Tenor. Adam Chance, Baritone ( goes by Chance). Chance replaced Chris Rupp (co-founder) who left in 2016. Take Me Home Country Roads is phenomenal but you might also want to check out Dreamer, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road, One Man Band, American Pie featuring Don McLean, I Swear, Blue Ain't Your Color, Dive Bar Saints, The Driver, Crazy and Folsom Prison Blues. For some funny ones: Butts Medley, All About That Bass, Champagne Taste, Hillbilly Bone and their newest releases, Ray Stevens' Mississippi Squirrel Revival, Delta Dawn, Give Me A Sign. For some serious ones: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain. When you are familiar with all the boys and their vocal roles, do Mayday. And last but not least, Brothers In Arms. It is haunting and beautiful. They have recently released several new songs that you will want to check out. Unchained Melody, Listen to the Music, Brother...the list goes on. To switch it up..try Two Country Singers try singing Opera. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole!

You were asking about relations. The original group that won first place on the show "the SingOff" had Chris Rupp, brother to vocal percussionist Adam Rupp. He left the group to work with his sister and explore some solo stuff. But he stays in contact with them and still does some of their arrangements. He was replaced with Adam Chance who is the groups current baritone. The bass that made all three of your jaws drop was the extraordinary Tim Foust. There is no other way to say it, he is a vocal beast. He is also a pretty good song writer. Should you venture further down the rabbit hole you will come across several written by him or their high tenor Austin Brown. And the bearded wonder, teddy bear of a man Rob Lundquist will surprise you in his leads of several different songs. All in all, welcome to the Home Fries version of the a Capella train.

Congratulations! You guys know how to do a reaction video! You watch the whole video then give your reactions. You are in an elite group that actually know how to do a reaction video. Most others would rather stop the video every 30 seconds to hear the sound of their own voice. It seems like that’s as long as they can go without hearing the sound of their own voice. So thank you for an honest reaction video!

Welcome to Home Free, acapella at its best!! Their covers are all upgrades, their medleys are so smooth, they collaborate with the original artists a lot,, and their original songs are fantastic. This 5 man vocal band you have 5 tenors, 5 beat boxers, and 2 bass-baritones. They can do just about anything they want with their style, and yet they all are very humble.( Rob and Austin sang an Opera song together, very cool.) When they have featured guest artist, they allow their featured artists to be free with there vocals. Several of them have their own channels and do solo work and albums.. As a “Home Fry”, very proud of there work. There work is so amazing. You need to listen to : When a man loves a woman” feat. Austin Brown as the lead. Give you a good idea of his vocal range. Also Tim Foust the bass singer does his own album’s ,you need to hear: “ Will you still love me/stay” This will blow your mind……..really. Have fun…..!!!!!!!!

Honestly this is just a good sampler of Home Free. But they are so much more than this song. Definitely see more of these good gentlemen! HF is sooo good at bringing back the classics, making country we grew up on and looooove so much better and modern. Anyone who loves good harmonies, family values, silly humor and breathtaking creativity loves them. HF has been together for 20 years and it shows. They spent a year and a half working on Country Road just to get it right.

I'm a Home Fry. I saw them in concert a couple of months ago in Orange, TX. It was a party! Tim is from the Golden Triangle (Beaumont, TX) and he and his brother-in-law boiled crawfish for the group out in the parking lot before the concert. I thought he was going to blow the speakers a couple of times. Check out HF and The Oak Ridge Boys doing Elvira! :-)

You will have a good time exploring Home Free. They won "The Sing Off" back in 2013 the season after Pentatonix won the same competition.
They are known as the world's first (and maybe only) country vocal band but, they can sing any genre from opera to classic rock.
You will get a lot of views too. The "Home Fries" are pretty steadfast in their support of the band.
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole. It is likely to lead you to a number of a capella performers as well (Peter Hollens, The Hound and the Fox, Voiceplay, etc).
P.S: If The Butts medley/remix was suggested, that arrangement is ridiculous.

I can't wait to see y'all get hit with Tim's (the base guy) true low notes. Judging by your reaction to this song it's going to be hilarious to watch. While we're talking about Tim, while being one of if not the best base voices in the business, he also has a 5 octave range so don't be surprised when he also hits a high note from time to time.
