      No, they're not using a jaw harp. That's Chance throat singing. You can catch him at it at the very end of the video.

    100% a capella, no instruments! They have literally 100's of covers on YT, as well as some fantastic gospel and originals. They are the BEST "vocal band" in my opinion. Check out their cover of Boyz 2 Men's "End Of The Road". They're billed as a Country a capella group, but do ALL genres.

    New subscriber. Great reaction, too! I love it when people discover Home Free. They are a freakishly talented group of fellas! They can make you laugh sometimes, they can make you cry sometimes but they always impress. Here's a cheat sheet on the group: Adam Rupp, co-founder of HF and the awesome beatboxer. Tim Foust, bass. He has a five-octave range. Rob Lundquist (glasses and beard) Tenor Harmony. Austin Brown, Lead Tenor. Adam Chance, Baritone ( goes by Chance). Chance replaced Chris Rupp (co-founder) who left in 2016. Take Me Home Country Roads is phenomenal but you might also want to check out Dreamer, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road, One Man Band, American Pie featuring Don McLean, I Swear, Blue Ain't Your Color, Dive Bar Saints, The Driver, Crazy and Folsom Prison Blues. For some funny ones: Butts Medley, All About That Bass, Champagne Taste, Hillbilly Bone and their newest one, Ray Stevens' Mississippi Squirrel Revival. For some serious ones: How Great Thou Art, Go Rest High On That Mountain. When you are familiar with all the boys and their vocal roles, do Mayday. And last but not least, Brothers In Arms. It is haunting and beautiful. They have recently released several new songs that you will want to check out. Unchained Melody, Listen to the Music, Brother...the list goes on. To switch it up..try Two Country Singers try singing Opera. Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole!

    You have just been introduced to the best a cappella group out there. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
    Some of my favorites are "Take Me Home Country Roads", "In The Blood", "Ring Of Fire", "Blue Ain't Your Color", "How Great Thou Art", "Elvira", "Hillbilly Bone", "American Pie", "Brother In Arms", "One Man Band", "Listen To The Music", "Sea Shanty Medley" etc.

    Hello new home fry good to see you jumping down the rabbit hole with the rest of us. Yes Adam has a lot of instruments in his voice. You need to watch Adam Rupps drum solo. Last year I saw him do it in concert oh wow. Austin is a high tenor and Rob with the beard is also a tenor but lower notes . Chance (Adam Chance) is a baritone who can also do a bass and Tim the Guy who sang so low has a 5 octave range He has gone so low that he blew speakers. You are going to love home free as they can be very serious but then they do some really funny videos too. Hillilly Bone is funny and so is the Butts remix. They have over 200 videos and have been around for over 20 years. The beatboxer Adam Rupp and his brother Cris Rupp started the group. You can see Chris in their older videos. He left the group about 4 years ago and Chance was hired to replace him and does a wonderful job. Chris Rupp has his own youtube channel and he does some wonderful gospel videos.

    The "no-monica" is just one of the countless instruments Adam Rupp sprinkles into all of HF's performances! (He's actually an alien from space who swallowed a drum kit.) HF's cover of the 1966 soul classic by Percy Sledge, "When a Man Loves a Woman" is one of the sweetest spots in their LARGE catalog of videos. It is here: th-cam.com/video/-pygPmfGQvU/w-d-xo.html Notice they aren't actually standing together during this performance. That's because they were all at home during the COVID lockdown. Except for Austin (high tenor) each member recorded his part in a makeshift home studio and their sound engineer put the video together from the 5 tracks.

  • @martinhafner2201
    @martinhafner2201 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Adam Rupp can be a drum kit, no-monica, castanets, synth drum pad and a jet plane.
    Yes, Tim Foust has all that bass in him! That bass guitar you were hearing in the song was just him singing.
    They also have two excellent tenors - Austin Brown and Rob Lundquist.
    The baritone who has a kind of Leonardo deCaprio look with the dark vest and red-brown hat in this song, was also doing the jaw harp sound by mixing some some throat and mouth resonances.

  • @GaiaOne
    @GaiaOne ปีที่แล้ว +1

    And...another one falls down the rabbit hole. You are so doomed. We'll save you a chair.
    You're about to be buried in Home Fries.
    Home Free is the only country a capella group out there, but they can - and do - sing every genre. And they have no lead singer. Every one of these men can take the lead, and they pick the lead for each song by who does it the most justice. During quarantine, they kept all us Home Fries sane by dropping new videos every couple of weeks. God bless ‘em.
    All the men can beat box, but Adam is in a league of his own. He's a world-class vocal percussionist and there're good reasons he's called a "Freak of Nature" and “the man who swallowed a drum kit.” For more of Adam's incredible beat boxing, check out Sea Shanty medley (the man makes castanets, for Pete's sake), his no-monica solo on Working For A Living and Ain't Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up (that video is on Facebook), and his drum solos.
    For more of Tim's seismic basso profundo, listen to Brothers In Arms, Misty Mountains (his collaboration with Peter Hollens), Folsom Prison Blues, or Ring Of Fire (the Sing Off version).
    For Chance's smooth baritone, check out Down to the Honky Tonk, Brothers In Arms, I Can’t Outrun You, and Folsom Prison Blues. (Awesome.. basso profundo and a baritone/bass in the same group.) FYI, Chance is singing (throat singing) the jaw harp sounds - without the jaw harp - in Man Of Constant Sorrow.
    For Rob's soulful tenor, check out End of the Road, Blue Ain't Your Color, or Bless The Broken Road. (Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.)
    For Austin's soaring power tenor, check out Crazy, Moonshine, When A Man Loves a Woman, or Bring Him Home. (But bolt down your chair ‘cause he'll sing you right out of it.)
    For their humor, check out Butts Remix, Working For A Living, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Brother, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget.
    For their amazing arrangement skills, check out Do You Hear What I Hear. (Adam's arrangement. Nothing else like it.)
    For their tight harmonies, check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Brothers In Arms, or Auld Lang Syne.
    For their mashups, check out Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On, Fishing in the Dark/Boondocks, Country Fried Pop, or Woman, Amen/Female.
    The Home Free men are masters of collaborations. They put the spotlight on their collaborator, supporting them with wonderful vocals and amazing harmonies. Check out God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, American Pie with Don McLean, Elvira with The Oak Ridge Boys, Children Go Where I Send Thee with the late Kenny Rogers, Don’t Laugh At Me with Mark Wills, Christmas In Dixie with Alabama, Delta Dawn with Brooke Eden, or Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For with Peter Hollens.
    Get at least five videos under your belt and then listen to Mayday - the official video. After Mayday, you'll be ready for Tim and Austin doing My Maria or Tim's mashup of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay.
    Then, when you come up for air, check out Rob’s and Austin’s “Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera.” You'll need smelling salts after that one.
    Don't miss their official videos. The Home Free men will often do a straight, gorgeous vocal performance, but they'll add elements of humor to the video that will leave you chuckling or even laughing out loud. (Folsom Prison Blues, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Working For A Living, Brother).
    And God help you when you get hit with the Home Free Curse. They’ll cover a song you absolutely cannot stand and make you like it against your will. I’ve been hit by the curse four times now, and I’m not alone.
    Their synergy is phenomenal. Each is an artist in his own right, but man - when they sing together, magic happens. Wicked talent polished by decades of hard work. (Unchained Melody, Castle On The Hill, Seven Bridges Road, Only In America) To paraphrase another Home Fry, “They don't just own a cover, they upgrade it.”
    You are doomed, Home Fry. Bring ketchup.

    Adam Rupp is a 2 time world champion beatboxer, and sounds like he swallowed a drum set, and a harmonica

    I love the cute wrinkle you get between you eyebrows when you get into the music. Looks like you are a "Homefry" just like the rest of use. When a man loves a woman will blow your mind.

    All the sounds do come from them except the guy playing the harmonica & spring sound, that comes from a spring steel insturment in his mouth. The drum sound and rattle sounds use no instruments.

    We love Adam's "nomonica" which sounds just like a harmonica. Not to mention all the other instruments they can imitate. Sooner or later you will "discover" Tim's bass isn't all he does (spoiler - he has a 5 octave range).

    Tim Foust, their bass, has a 5 octave range, and has been known to blow speakers at concerts. Try "In the Blood", "Butts Remix", "How Great Thou Art".
