  • In this video, you will find a step by step instructions with tons of written directions and graphics to carefully prepare your level base, assemble your pool, and set up your sand filter pump. I spent over 60 hours creating this video using over 230 video footage and pictures. I hope this video will help everyone build their own above-ground pool. In the following video, I will cover the mistakes I made during my process. If you are first time visiting my video please don't forget to subscribe to my channel to support the channel.

    Please rename your video to number #1video on pool set up. I’ve been watching videos for two weeks and I’m so glad I ran into this one. Last I stop right here I’m going to do every step exactly as you have. Thank you so much.

    i wish i had watched your video before i did mine lol i like this idea of making a border with string before you started digging. i made a very crude border and have a huge oak tree about 10-12 ft away from my pool and its roots were like a big spider web just a few inches deep. it took me 3 days just digging up roots!!!! had to use an iron rake and root cutters because a soil tiller was absolutely not feasible with all the roots. I truly wished my yard had no trees near it lol you made it look sooo easily! 😊

    Awesome video, thanks for sharing your knowledge. Daniel, we're interested in buying this pool and looking at some measurements. Do you know the measurement from the top of the pool edge to the top of the bracing strap (the strap that goes all the way around the pool's lower section)? Thanks

    • @DanielDemir
      @DanielDemir  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your comment. I provided all measurements I have in the video. I also mentioned how the actual pool size slightly different than the box description. The distance from one edge to another age is 22 feet.

  • @MarkJohnson-fq6nq
    @MarkJohnson-fq6nq ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Great Video, thanks! How has this held up over time? Any settling of the sand or issues with the side supports of the pool sinking or shifting? Is the pool top rail still nice and level?

    • @DanielDemir
      @DanielDemir  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Everything still looks great but there are some areas in the pool with settled spots. Because I forgot to compress the sand after leveling but it is not an issue at all. Supports are totally fine. I am glad that I made custom footings for the vertical legs. It keeps the legs at the right level. Top rails look nicer if the water level is always above 90 percent. Thank you

    • @ivicabozinovic9450
      @ivicabozinovic9450 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have a similar one but did not manage yo avoid the curvature/ twisting of the long rails, they are still bended inwards like in your video. Keeping It at 90% was enough for you?
      Thanks for the video and your comments

  • @joeguzmanguzman
    @joeguzmanguzman ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Replace the sand with Poly Filter balls. The filter smaller particles, weigh nothing and you dont get sand in your pool. Water pressure is much better too.

    Great video, What is the size of the boards under the U-shaped supports. The look like about 30" long, 1x6?

    • @DanielDemir
      @DanielDemir  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can use one long 2 by 8 for each side instead of putting one under each u-shaped support.

  • @lciummo1

    I am about to build mine this weekend. Do you think there is a way to further put the solar heater? I have a patio near the pool area and was wondering if I could lay the water heater on the patio and run a line to the pool.

    • @DanielDemir
      @DanielDemir  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you install the solar heater it will decrease the power of the pump. If you use and extension it will also affect the efficiency of the pump. Thus, you may need to run your pump longer every day. 6-7 hours a day.

    Thank you for the tutorial! Question, why you did not use the solar panel?

    • @DanielDemir
      @DanielDemir  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t need to:) also it weakens the pump suction.

    great video! about how long did it take to assemble the pool. not including the base or platform for the pump. also not including filling it with water. just the pool structure and filtration system together.

    In the midst of setting up and maybe this is a dumb question, but at what point (of filing/ water level) do you attach the pump and start it? When it's totally full or?? Thank you!!! GREAT VIDEO!!! Thank you for making and posting.

      You can install it anytime before it reaches out to the top holes. Thank you for your comments and support.

    really appreciate this video, and I'm about to embark on basically the identical build for our new pool. It's the exact same pool that we purchased. But I have a question and I'm hoping you can answer. I noticed that you said that U supports in to your sand when you levelled it off. However, the individual leg supports that you attached to the boards you have above the sand base. Did that present any significant challenges or issues with the fact that the supports are not at the same level?

    • @DanielDemir
      @DanielDemir  ปีที่แล้ว

      Those leg supports are buried a little in the sand to be leveled, but even it’s not leveled it won’t cause any significant issues.

    Hello! Did you use Paver Base for the entire area? From the video, it looks like you only added it around the sides. Great video!

      The plan was to added to the entire area but I ended putting 10-15 bags.

    What's the black liner that you rolled out before putting the tarp down? What did you use to hold the black liner and tarp in place?

    • @DanielDemir
      @DanielDemir  ปีที่แล้ว

      Black liner is regular landscaping fabric. I used landscaping staples. www.amazon.com/dp/B07Z1SH6B5/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_88NZGE64S8A7WER0MKV5?linkCode=ml2&tag=irfandemir-20

    Hi! Hope you don’t mind me asking a few questions for further elaboration. I am going at this with NO building/contracting experience so this is a huge endeavor for me:
    1. How did you figure out the measurements of the bottom of the U supports were wrong? How exactly did you accommodate this inaccuracy without starting all over?
    2. What was the black fabric you placed over the sand before you put tarp atop of it?
    3. When you were leveling, did you just dig the highest point within your pool area, or did you dig and level the entire area down to the same level? Was it 6 inches?
    4. If you didn’t dig everywhere, did you simple till the other places?
    will this work for a rectangular pool as well

    • @DanielDemir
      @DanielDemir  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey there,
      Certainly!
      1. I realized that I needed to make an adjustment before filling the pool with water. I added another row of U supports directly beneath the existing ones. I explained this at 10:30.
      2. Instead of using regular landscaping fabric, I suggest using thicker fabric like the one found here: amzn.to/3qoyVMK
      3. For the sandbox, I recommend digging down the highest points and removing the top layer of grass for the rest of the area. The sandbox should have a minimum depth of 4 inches. Instead of making the sandbox higher, I suggest leveling the ground and constructing the sandbox using 2 by 4s or 2 by 6s.
      4. The lower areas can simply be tilled.
      This method can be used for any above-ground pool.
      I hope this addresses all of your questions.

    Does port b release clean water into pool ? I have the same pool first time with a sand filter and it feels like water isn’t flowing in or is it not visible ??

    • @DanielDemir
      @DanielDemir  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Port B of the pump sucks the dirty water from the pool, sends it to the filter and the port A of the filter pumps the clean water to the pool. If water is not circulating check your connections, make sure the control valve is in play position and there is no air in the pump. If there is air in the pump, open Port D, turn the control panel to drop position and run the pump for a minute then close the port d, turn the control valve to Play position and run the pump. It should help. If it doesn’t help you can call me at 901-651-1844. This is my whatsapp.

    So the wood supports for the long sides are at ground level while the end supports on the cruves are elevated the 1.5" thickness of the 2x6? Is that correct?

    • @DanielDemir
      @DanielDemir  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Actually all of them are at the ground level. I hammered them in the ground to level all supports.

      Yes you should drain the entire pool and set it up again correctly.
