    We just built ours as well. We copied this layout. We used two 8ft 4x4s for the width, and 3 8ft 4x4 for the length. Came out to 16ft x 24ft and worked nice. The pool is 14ft wide with the side supports, and exactly 22ft long so we had extra room. The most important part is to make sure your area is level, especially on the long side. Spend extra time getting the ground level before moving forward. Thanks for posting this video.

    So since Don didn't answer the repeated question and Like everyone else, I am wondering about the size of the frame too I'll give it a shot. Since the video said he only used 2-3 yards of Mason Sand within a 4x4 lumber frame. In the big box home stores, 4x4 lumber is sold in 6, 8, 10, 12, and 16 ft lengths, let's assume he bought the 8 ft. That would be 2 8ft 4x4's at the ends and 3 8ft 4x4's by the sides. I would assume he created a 16x24 frame. In regards to the sand, he leveled it within the frame so it may have only been 2 inches deep, within those measurements we're looking at 2.4 Cubic Yards of Sand needed. Hey sorry for going in deep but I intend to build the same as well so just like you the numbers matter as well.

      Hi, it’s great. Going into my fourth year. Ive never taken it down left it up all year around. I didn’t even cover it one year. I haven’t open it this year though because it’s still cold and windy here in California. Such weird weather. But yes get it it’s totally worth it. I’ve enjoyed it so much and my kids love to swim almost everyday during the summer.

    HELP !!! Before I attempt this . The Pool is 12 feet wide . When the "side legs" , "braces " , are attached . From one side to the other side of the brace is it 12 ft or is it wider ? How much space if any has the be accounted for the brace ?

    • @don_wynn

      It’s says 14ft 2inches. I’d probably leave 15ft of space just in case

      I did a 24x13 ft base and it is not wide enough for the "u" legs, so I had to improvise. 25x15 ft inside diameter would be perfect .

    • @don_wynn
      @don_wynn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The box says its 14ft 2inches. You’ll need at least 14ft 2inches for the U-brace side. I have mines to 23ft X 15ft.

      the ring helps you keep the sand out of the center tube and keep things centered. you must take it off to seat the sand filter top and ring keeper.

    Hi everyone,
    There are a lot of questions regarding the measurements of the box. And sorry I haven’t gotten around to answer it. But here they are:
    For the long side I used a 12ft and a 11ft 4X4 for a total of 23ft
    For the short side I used a 10ft and a 5ft 4X4 for a total of 15ft.
    Here’s the list of material if you want to do the exact same.
    4 - 12ft 4X4 (2 to cut to 11ft)
    3 - 10ft 4X4 (1 cut in half)

    • @josephcalabrese5240
      @josephcalabrese5240 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don how far do those "side legs" go out ? If you measured from one side of the pool to the other ,with those "side braces " attached . Are we still at 12 ft or do I have to take into account for them being wider then the pool ? The width of your box is 15ft . It looks like you gave yourself some room to play with . Thank You for your response . Im tight on space .

    Have a question, have you had any issues with using the sand for the base under the pool?

    • @don_wynn
      @don_wynn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven’t had an issues. I would say even though I tamp down the sand there are still uneven parts of the pool floor I can feel it when I’m walking on it. Also, other TH-cam videos are saying the pool became un-leveled because they did not put anything under the footings so make sure you do that the it won’t sink into the sand. However I think it comes down to cost, there are better surfaces to put the pool on like rubber mats which could be quite expensive. All depends on how much you want to spend.

Then with my wife’s help, we had to stretch it out until we can insert the parts together. I was a little worried that it could rip but didn’t.
