Got the 4070 version this week. It's a great machine but i do want to raise a hand and tell everyone how hot that version runs whenever you need to use the GPU. The fans never run slower then 4000rpm whenever i have a second screen connected and if i switch to whisper mode the temperature levels quickly start spiking. So, a great little machine but beware of the fan noise if you go max specs. I would probably rather recommend 4050 or 4060 since all reviews I've seen on the configurations using those GPUs seem to be more balanced and run less hot.
I went into my local BestBuy today looking for a ROG G14 and walked out with this instead, and the 60 hz isn't a big deal. It's a tad disappointing, but doesn't ruin it. The problem I have is when swiping between desktops, the screen slide transition animation pauses for maybe 300 ms when I release the track pad, then resumes the animation until the new desktop is fully in view. It seems changing the GPU options doesn't make a difference, it's driving my bonkers.
I would really want to see a benchmark between ASUS ProArt PX13 R9-HX370/32GB/1TB/RTX4060 60hz and Gigabyte Aero 14 OLED i7-13700H/16GB/1TB/RTX4050 90Hz. Areo is only like 1 cm wider, but is 50% (or even more) of the Asus PrroArt price tag & has reasonable components for this form factor. Is it worth paying this much more ? Something tells me that those 2 would perform very close. Also, areo has 90 hz oled screen.
me too, granted for content creation 60hz is okay but nothing beats how smooth 120hz is and specially since a lot of content creators play games. since i moved to PC 2 years ago from console i swore a vow to myself that i would never play below or at 60hz/fps again.
@@Tommy_The_Gun Both the CPU and GPU in the Asus is a lot faster, so it will perform better. If you are not gaming, it will also last longer on battery. Someone needs to release these specs, with a 120hz screen, and they will sell a ton of them. I have no idea why Asus didn't do it here.

60hz at this price point should Amoled, not Oled. Also, for whatever reason it is 4K panel... that is only 13 inch. lol. The components they chose do not make sense. Excessive amount of ram and RTX 4060 or 4070 & both have only 8 gb of V-ram. At this point 4050 would make more senes or maybe even remove gpu completely and use apu (890M is actually quite powerful). At this point Aero 14 OLED looks like a better & actually decent product.
FYI it also comes with a 4070 version too (at least in the UK where I am) and it seems to get similar performance to a G14 in games. Though I'm mostly using it for GPU rendering as the primary use case, with gaming as a bonus - so it's a great dual purpose machine for that. Really impressed with the laptop so far, handles everything I throw at it. Would've loved to have seen at least 90hz though, as well as 140w USB C charging for travel.

It seems like the only real downsides vs the G14 is the refresh rate, since the 4070 is performing better in some games in the PX13. I think if I didn't use the stylus I would've totally gone for the G14, or waited for a G14 with the HX 370 👍 Same for anyone that's leaning towards the gaming side more than art/work/productivity, they should probably go for the G14 for the refresh rate. Awesome review! Exactly what I need…very light gaming but mainly want it to be able to when needed. But then want the longer battery life and light weight for office and school work. Mine is coming in tomorrow from BB. $1400. :)
Picked up one of these this week. It's almost perfect, for me at least. A while ago I had been using a blade stealth 13 and loved it, this is the closest I have found to that system. Would have been nice with a higher refresh rate or an RGB backlighting on the keyboard, but I am fine without either of those. I like a light and compact laptop and having the dedicated GPU in it is great.
I would really like to see a comparison of this thing vs other small, thin & light gaming/creators laptop. Love the form factor and overall configuration, hate the windows dependent software to control the novel hardware features. If it weren't 100% dependent on windows I would definitely get one of these.
For reference, Flow X13 is similarly priced at launch, Z13 is a bit more expensive with that freaking proprietry eGPU. Still I won't buy it for a 4050 or 4060. For GPU on laptop 4070 is my baseline, or else just get eGPU or a desktop + second handed work laptop at this point. If you care about mobility and pen drawing, get a Windows tablet and leave the rendering for your workstation at home, or just use Macbook if you don't mind touchscreen / pen, Apple's ecosystem and you love Final Cut Pro (I personally hate it), get an iPad for the pen drawing (What a shame they don't have Macbook tablets, surely they go for the money milking strats). For gaming I would totally get a G14 at this point.
Why would you do all the benchmarks at 1080p instead of the native resolution? In some of these games you're getting above 60fps because you've chosen to considerably downgrade the resolution for no reason. The benchmarks were kinda pointless tbh...
Got the 4050 version today. Beautiful all around. Only issue is the touch screen driver wasnt there. Touch screen doesnt work. I tried trouble shooting and reinstalling windows. It gave me issues with the system reset. No luck. Gotta return it now and see if I can get a good one. This is a common issue apparently.
2400 euro’s (2619 dollar) here in the netherlands, it’s a no go definitely with only a 60hz screen. The rog flow x13 is 300 off for 1800 and is actually a better value while not being a great value for a rtx 4060 laptop They also straight up lie on the dutch shop page, it says it has a 120hz screen. I notify them 1 week ago and they still didn’t change the page Going to wait for the strix halo variant with a APU capable of the dam performance as a 4060. Can’t wait to not having to pay the Nvidia premium on this convertible
Looks like rebranded ROG Flow X13... and it seems like X13 was discontinued. It is a shame that it is not equipped with 16GB & 4050 or amd GPU to cut down the price. Alternatively, I am pretty sure that with a 13 inch screen you could get away with gaming even on 890M APU. So oddly, dedicated GPU might even be not needed to further reduce the price point. Speaking of GPU, unlike X13, this thing does not have external GPU connector. It is kinda sad to see prices of cool devices like this going up, but features of the device either do stay the same or are getting worse. High price tag at this point is only there to create an illusion of a premium product, as it is simply an extremely overpriced. Especially if you will remember that launch price tag of Flow X13 was like half of the price tag for this bad boy (16gb/512gb/gtx1650, so worse spece, but at least those were reasonably priced for the time).
There are reports coming out that there's gonna be a new Z13 next year with the AMD Strix Halo APU (~4060-4070 perf), so if it turns out to be true, it wouldn't surprise me if they put it in the 2025 X13 too.

So if this is really for "Creative Professionals" how does an OLED with the known text clarity issues help them? Sounds like a reference device for images rather than a work machine
Im thinking of buying this one with a 4060. Would it be wise when i get it to just immidiatly install a fresh install of windows 11 and getting G helper without all the asus software?
So when he's saying these games get 100+ fps, that's on an external monitor right? Because what's the point of trying to max out fps with frame gen if it's only a 60hz panel?
The pricing for this thing is stupid. I have a lenovo legion slim 5 14". It also has an OLED, but instead of 60hz, its 120hz. It has a 4060 and two nvme slots. The best part I landed mine for $700USD
I REALLY wish you would stop only showing Frame Gen results. It doesn't provide us a baseline to judge the actual performance. I understand it's a feature of the graphics but it would still be nice to either have a dedicated section for it or to provide the rasterization results when you do the title cards. Other than that, thanks for the video. ♥
Guys, is it possible to squeeze out the same performance on linux as on windows? As far as I know, u cannot install asus armory apps on linux, can you ?
Does the USB 4 charge the laptop as well? In case the charging port is broken or if I bring another power brick that charges things via USB-C or PD from my external monitor, that would be nice.
I love your videos and reviews. But please, fix your microphone. It fails to pick up the first milliiseconds. (not very proficient.. but could be a pop filter, attack setting, or noise removal). It has become very distracting over time.
2880x1800 still bro, i know it is only 60hz but some games look really good at that resolution despite old ones being capable of higher framerates than 60 fps

Is it better to take this or a ROG zephyrus G14 ?
wow this crazy good
I can't wait for the models with just the APU, mm mmm.
hmm
The new ZenBook s16 is available with only the APU
I would like this perhaps.
Unrelated question. Where do you get your live wallpapers from?
Can you compare the 4050 to the 890 from the APU? Seems like a perfect platform/device to compare the 2.
should have significant difference, even without dlss, like maybe 50% better
Why would you do all the benchmarks at 1080p instead of the native resolution? In some of these games you're getting above 60fps because you've chosen to considerably downgrade the resolution for no reason. The benchmarks were kinda pointless tbh...
Got the 4050 version today. Beautiful all around. Only issue is the touch screen driver wasnt there. Touch screen doesnt work. I tried trouble shooting and reinstalling windows. It gave me issues with the system reset. No luck. Gotta return it now and see if I can get a good one. This is a common issue apparently.
What application are you using for your animated wallpapers?
2400 euro’s (2619 dollar) here in the netherlands, it’s a no go definitely with only a 60hz screen. The rog flow x13 is 300 off for 1800 and is actually a better value while not being a great value for a rtx 4060 laptop
They also straight up lie on the dutch shop page, it says it has a 120hz screen. I notify them 1 week ago and they still didn’t change the page
Going to wait for the strix halo variant with a APU capable of the dam performance as a 4060. Can’t wait to not having to pay the Nvidia premium on this convertible
I live in NL and i am gonna use my USA trip this dec to buy it
It's like a more refined Flow X13, too bad about the refresh rate.
Can you review the miniproca all in one mini PC when it comes out?
This looks like a successor to the Flow X13.
How do you think These will do running Linux?
It will piss on Linux with that sort of gear under the hood. It will rocket a long 🎉
Waiting for a minis forum version of this laptop..
I will stick with my Ally as of now..
The RTX 4050 running at 3K is Awesome....
if the screen only goes to60hz why show the frames going past 60 if we can't go past60hz? im not that informed so maybe idgi?
How does Blender run on this? rendering and simulation?
Cool laptop but i'm more interested in the train wallpaper running in the back. name????
Thank you for the great contents. However I found typo with the RAM spec as LPCCR5X, which is should be LPDDR5X on the specs list in every videos about new ASUS laptops powered by Ryzen AI series you uploaded.
Are we not getting new X13 and Z13 under ROG branding? The PX13 and PZ13 seem to be using the same chassis as their ROG counterparts.
Love the content I just wish that every once in a while you would tell us the price. I hate having a scroll through all your information just to find out how much the damn thing cost. All you have to do is just say what it runs for.
So if this is really for "Creative Professionals" how does an OLED with the known text clarity issues help them? Sounds like a reference device for images rather than a work machine
How is the track pad? Is it a traditional diving board style or modern haptic touch?
It's $3600 on Australia 🇦🇺
The Zenbook Pro 14 OLED is the same price with better specs and it looks better
Cannot find the one you are refering to
Im thinking of buying this one with a 4060.
Wait, best buy says 4050 is a high end GPU..........🤔🧐🤯
compared to iris xe it is
@@iikatinggangsengii2471 🤔😂😅😆🤣 I see
Probably not the primary purpose for this machine, but I'd love to see how gaming performs in Linux on it. :)
it's so expensive in my country unfortunately
How high or percentage did you have your fan speed at? How loud were the fan during your testing? Thank you
The pricing for this thing is stupid. I have a lenovo legion slim 5 14". It also has an OLED, but instead of 60hz, its 120hz. It has a 4060 and two nvme slots. The best part I landed mine for $700USD
The Basic version of OG ROG FLOW X13 was sold for like 850$... I mean this new ProArt PX13 feels like a scam when it comes to pricing lol.
4:07 is LPCCR5X a different type of RAM that I am not aware of?
Besides the Stealth 13. What would be equivalent to this machine for 90% gaming and the rest for productivity?
x13 but it only has the 30 series. z13 is strictly tablet form
I would've bought this day 1 if it had no gpu and gave me something useful like more memory or bigger battery or haptic touchpad.
Did you have any comparative benchmarks vs. the Proart H7604 variants?
Once again, the only way to get the best APU for your laptop is to get one with a dGPU. Kinda wastes the APU's potential.
You can get the APU only in the new ZenBook s16
How does this laptop compare to HP OMEN - Transcend 14" ?
I need this BAD
Does armory crate allow custom TDP as low as 4-8W?
Remove Engridia from it, put bigger battery and you will get my attention...
i just want to develop this headphone as soon as possible, proper system for this phone also welcomed
120 hz, sd card reader, and 14 inches would be great, so i might as well get the g14, but that still doesnt have a full size card reader.
The downside apart from the price is the 60hz screen,
Do any of your telescoping controllers fit on it?
would you be able to do a cycled bench in cinebench. IE, run it 5 or 10 times, and then give us the score it has after heatsoaking?
Wait for Asus Rog Flow X13, will have 120hz and smaller price, if it will be released in Q1 2025, will have next gen gpus: rtx 5050, 5060, 5070
I don't think they are releasing a new one this year.
they should, but true maybe w newer nvidias, to sustain the exclusivity, tablet usage also very handy in gaming and video watching
@@iikatinggangsengii2471 it got leaked that the new zflow 2025 will have the strix halo. 40 CU on a tablet, can't wait
lol second time you mess up lpddr5x (lpccr5x) but good video nonetheless
I think he intentionally leaves errors to engagement farm
Doesn’t even do 120hz at 27 inch display and make my bed 😂 deal breaker
When doing a review the first thing that needs to be mention is the Price and specs.
Hi, thanks for your review. Have you tried any linux distro on PX13? if not can you try a live usb? i'm interested in dual boot with windows 11
If the displays only 60hz why would you use dlss on balanced or frame gen...
I thought you would surely test iGPU vs dGPU (RTX 4050 vs 890M) :(
Does the USB 4 charge the laptop as well? In case the charging port is broken or if I bring another power brick that charges things via USB-C or PD from my external monitor, that would be nice.
@@hksduhksdu yes I believe they do charge
Please say what gpu
@@cybernate9093 it says 4050. You can spec a 4070.
Can u please try the one with 4070
I love your videos and reviews. But please, fix your microphone. It fails to pick up the first milliiseconds. (not very proficient.. but could be a pop filter, attack setting, or noise removal). It has become very distracting over time.
Can you start testing Warzone in your benchmarks please
Would be a no brainer if it was 120Hz
too expensive for my broke ass. also only 60hz for this money?
2880x1800 still bro, i know it is only 60hz but some games look really good at that resolution despite old ones being capable of higher framerates than 60 fps
its for creators, why would you need high refresh rate screen while editing photos ? you are paying for 2 things in screen sector, high refresh rate or high color accuracy, screen with both will cost like whole laptop :D
@@Dr80SK pen input is noticable going from 60 to 120 fps, the dynamic range on Surface pro proves that and this laptop supports pen for artists work.
@@adan2343that and this has a worse pen than the surface. Should’ve used EMR and 120fps for that price
@@christianr.5868 I have used wacom's technology and a surface pro 9 with a slim pen 2 and I must say it's not that bad, however the surface has good palm rejection and by somewhat reason pen input on windows devices seems to be decent only on the surface.
when world is focusing on graphis and animations. while linux users sticking with i3wm and dwm like de.
60hz is a massive dealbreaker.... 60hz displays should be extinct at this point. And don't tell me stupid reasons like battery life... if you want laggy 60hz for better battery life then go ahead and switch to it in the settings, no one is stopping you but stop restricting us normal people from accessing 120hz+
No kidding. It is one thing to use 60hz hooked up to a TV but unacceptable on a laptop screen.
@@nojuanatall3281I have been using 60hz screens for my whole life. They are fine. The jump from 60hz to 120hz isn’t a life changing thing. It’s nice to have. But I’d rather have better detail and resolution.
"laggy"
lol all the 120hz screen on 13" laptops have the worse response times amongst high refresh rates on laptops
