Just found your channel last week, and let me say I'm amazed at the quality and quantity of your work. Keep it up please, your videos are super helpful
What I enjoy about your reviews are that it truly seems like your not selling a product like I see from a lot of American reviewers. It's like they are reading a script and most are boring. Hoka are my type of shoe simply because of cushioning and I think they look great as well. Thanks for your honesty.
I became a Hoka fan recently. Really appreciate their return policy right now, testing a shoe for 30 days and still being able to return it if you don't feel the shoes.
Great analysis on the spread of rubber, keeping the shoe a little lighter in design is likely a good thing. Also, balanced wear and durability looks good, super important! Thanks for the review!
I started running with the Clifton 4 and have always enjoyed the series. You are one of the few reviewers I always check first when deciding my next pair. Keep it up sir!
Great Review! I have about 60 road miles on my Clifton 7s and find them perfect for slow and steady long runs where i need more cushion. Upper comfort and lockdown is excellent as well. I’m looking forward to a lot more miles with these shoes.
Cheers for the review. Was looking for second pair of running shoes. Have been torn between these and a pair of ON cloudflow. My go to are my Gel Nimbus 23 and was looking for something similar as I regularly do long distances. Pretty set on the Cliftons now. Good review! Cheers from England 🏴 🍻
That’s good to hear that you got on so well with it. My Clifton 6s are on about 280 miles and still feel great. It’s good to know that when I am ready, the Clifton 7 is a good replacement option.
The Clifton 7 has been a very enjoyable shoe for me as well. I swore off Cliftons after I tried the 5, but got tempted to try the 7 after your first review. Thanks for that, because it's a remarkable shoe. I expected it to be a slow shoe, but that hasn't been the case at all. I find myself running faster than I intend most of the time in this shoe. All with great comfort. I was a little concerned about the arch initially, but it's not been an issue. Thanks for the great reviews. Keep on keeping on.
I hope you popped a Miller Lite after you finished editing that intro run sequence, because you deserve it for the sync with the puff of cold air alone.
Just diagnosed with Achilles tendonitis. I just ordered these shoes because I've seen people wearing them at my boxing gym. Hopeing these will relieve pressure into my calves from the tendonitis.
Having picked up both the Rincon v1 and Clifton v6 on clearance this year, I honestly wish Hoka made something like the Clifton 6/7 with the light and breathable upper of the Rincon v1...that’d be like a true Napali v2...still miss that original Napali, even with its more crude upper!
The Clifton 6 was my bread and butter. Did my first two half marathons in it and early on in the pandemic was my go to shoe for all sorts of runs. Never taken it off the road but I’m not joking I got near 500 miles on it. If one looked at it, would never guess the mileage. The upper still looks like new. I did not replace the C6 with the C7 but a couple months later did get the C7. In the Clifton 7, I love the gusseted tongue and very breathable upper. The C6 upper was more padded, more material and felt more comfortable but I will take a breathable upper over comfort in the bigger picture of things. To me, the Clifton 7 runs a bit narrower in the toe box. I have to resort to thinner socks for better fit. Initially, the C7 felt like how the C6 was before breaking in...just not lively. However, I only have 20-ish miles on the C7 and only expect it to get better.
@KobeR I got about 60 to 70 miles now. Lost count LOL. Picked up a lot of shoes the past months so been cycling them around. The C7 now feels a lot like the C6 midsole wise and I expected it to. I can’t see any wear yet on my Clifton 7 so hitting the 400-500 mark possible as I hit the 500 mark on my Clifton 6 though the outsole by then was shot. Still a workhorse.
I just discovered your channel and have been immersing myself in your videos. Thank you and great job! I've been running in Altra TOrin 4.5s (~40 miles) and Clifton 7s (~65 miles) lately. If I could combine the Altra upper and toe box with the Clifton sole I think I'd find perfection in a running shoe for me. I find the Torin 4.5 to not really be that plush, but more responsive, which isn't really what I'm looking for. I enjoyed the regular Torin 4 and found that to be much more plush and cushioned feeling for me. For the Clifton 7, I find it to be extremely narrow and I've developed blisters and hot spots on the medial side of the ball of my right foot. I've got almost 300 miles in a Clifton 6 and that's the one I go to more often than the 7. My question is: can I expect the Clifton 7 upper to stretch out at all? Can I expect the Torin 4.5 to break in more? What shoe would the best both of the both worlds that you've tried? Thanks!
I wanted to love the Cliftons but after 6 miles they feel like boats on my feet. I would love to see a matrix style video (similar to Seth) from you in which you discuss which shoes you currently wear for long runs, tempo, etc. Your shoe reviews are very informative and I use them to help me with my shoe purchases.
traderhines76 I too felt like they were just too much shoe on me, despite their light weight. Maybe I should have gone down a half size. I prefer shoes that feel more like an extension of my foot as opposed to being aware of the shoes. And I don’t like the kind of cushion that you sink into. I guess it’s impossible to please everyone with any given ratio between cushion and responsiveness, softness vs. inefficiency. Interesting that Kofuzi also feels like it’s a lot of shoe.
Lev and Martha Polyakin-Aarons I too believe that a shoe should be an extension of your foot and always felt like the Clifton was working against me and not with me. I’m currently running in the peg turbo 2 but now my legs are starting to get really sore. Just received the fuel cell rebel and I hope the change would do my legs some good. It’s hard deciding on a long run shoe that would provide protection but is also light weight. I was about to purchase the endorphin speed but all the reviews say they are narrow and I have a wide foot. I thought the Clifton would fit that long run slot but it just didn’t work out. I wear them as a casual shoe now and they work great for that purpose.
i was about to make my own version of it (more of a grid than a matrix) when Seth released his video earlier this year. I didn't want to step on toes. but i may put something together for end of year.
I had to return the Clifton 7 due to the massive arch impingement. Didn't want to buy a $50 insole to cover. Seemed like a great shoe if that design issue wasn't present.
I watch many youtuber runners like you guys, but one thing thats not alot out there is making recommendations for big guy runners. Im 230 pounds and put at least 30 miles a week. Cushioned shoes seems to be my favorite. Would you make recommendations on shoes im that category? Thanks keep up the great content.👍
Everyone will experience a different outcome after 100 miles (dependent on users height & weight) . You seem to run on grass/dirt/gravel surfaces so it will feel great to run on for 100 miles. Whereas others who only run on concrete ground will not feel the same after 100 miles.
I plan to get the navy pair with the pink and orang in a women’s size 7.5 instead of my normal 8. I feel like my hoka bondi 6 did run half a size too big 💙🧡💗

Nice review, sir, really dig it! Also, nice forests you are running in in this clip... have you encountered any interesting animal on your morning runs (besides multiple dogs' cameos in your clips)? :)) keep it up, cheers from Europe!
Thnx & Good review as always. I get a question though: I am thinking, will Rincon be better than Clifton for easy long run, 30k, 10k per hour? After going thru your review on Novablast, I go ahead and buy one. It does not disappoint to say the least. The only problem is that I am using it for tempo, long , easy run and it is wearing fast; so i am thinking about getting a pair of Hoka. I do not own any Hoka shoes.
They must have done something to improve the rubber on the outsoule, compared to the Clifton 6, because I've done some 220 miles in that shoe and the rubber is completely filed down at certain areas. Could be my form of course. Curious to see how these looks after another 100 miles. ;)
I was going to order the chili red colorway online since I wear a size 14 but went into my local store to try on first...the only color they had was a the black/white one you reviewed and it was in a wide...it actually felt really comfortable in the wide size and now makes me think I might just suck it up and get the plainest of the colors (it actually looks pretty good in your vid)

Kofuzi - would you recommend the Clifton 7 for longer runs? You mentioned you took it up to 13 miles with no issues and i'm starting training for my next 26.2. Wondering if the Clifton 7 would be a good option for upwards of 15/20/25 mile runs?

after a 35-kilometer (22-mile) run in the woods and asphalt, a black cover began to separate from the sole. Totally disappointing. I have been running for about 20 years and I have never met such poor quality shoes

@@silverrunner8687 I see. My toes turned purple with the Bondi 7 too. Bondi 7 is the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn but then again I haven't worn too many. The last comfortable shoe was mizumo wave prophecy 3. Thanks for your input.
Fucking dope mate
Thanks
Would you recommend this for runs over 20+ km runs
I do 20k plus runs in my Clifton 6's, so these would be ideal.
I just ran a half marathon on my 7's and they did just great, I can also recommend them
@@hoggypotter1 @M Schindler thanks for the answers ran my last half in Pegasus 37 but dont feel they are right for the distance
definitely
Hi, which is widest in toe box? Clifton 7/6 or Rincon 2?
I would say the Clifton 6.
@@kofuzi I have the Rocket X and that has plenty of toe box space. I just worry as i had issues with the Clifton 5 a few years ago. I wonder if they have increased space in the newer cliftons?
What gloves do you use?
May i please ask if this will help with my plantar fasciitis?
Yes, the arc of this shoe will help you.
Always proble, for hoka is outsole not lasting long but they still great shoes
Does any one have idea about its size, is it a bit bigger or smaller?
Your a marine?
you should have cleaned the shoes when you film them
after a 35-kilometer (22-mile) run in the woods and asphalt, a black cover began to separate from the sole. Totally disappointing. I have been running for about 20 years and I have never met such poor quality shoes
is it good for wide feet?
yes, but I believe it also comes in a wide size
@@kofuzi thanks. I just orderd a 2e for me.
I love your channel.
I run 3 to 4 miles max occasionally, This shoe is not for me, all the jerks are being transferred to knees.
I prefer running in my flat canvas shoes than this.
I'm not comfortable walking in this shoe either.
how to choose the size?
go with your usual running shoe size
Please make a video on runners veg diet
