I said this before, I'll say it again. I absolutely love these 100 miles reviews. I feel like a lot of shoes take up to 50 miles to break them in, even with modern shoes that allow us to take them out of the box and race in them. The 100 miles is in my opinion what differentiates the first impression from a more informed more valuable review. I know I'm preaching to the choir, but just wanted to voice my appreciation. It's very refreshing to see, particularly in a bigger channel like yours.

I've been running with these endorphin speed since june, i bought it for speed work, but i love them so much i decided to run the marathon i was preparing with. They are over 800 kilometers now but they are still felling brand new. I have a pair of Novablast 4 that have half the mileage and they feel done already. I wish the endorphin speed has a lower drop but overall great choice for someone who want one to do it all (at least it works for me that way) :)

Good review! Interesting take on the MX2. Mach x2 is fire. So easy to pick up pace in that for me personally (5:30-6:30/mile). I find it to be more versatile and much faster the ES3 or 4 which didn’t feel as protective or as fast as my speed 2. Thanks for the video.

I love the Adidas Boston 12 .With every ride this shoes gets better and better. There is so much variation in the way we run that one shoe is soooo good for one runner while it is exactly the opposite to the other runner.

When I first got the ES4 I initially disliked it. 40 miles in, they became my favourite shoe in 2024, so versatile, light and snappy. I'm still not a fan of them for my slower paces 5:45-5:30, but fantastic for anything faster. It's a great Half marathon shoe in my opinion, and its very durable, still feeling fresh around 400km with just regular wear like you showed as well.

Very interesting. I froth my ES3’s still, and they’re very close to being done sadly. I’ve tried on the ES4 and was sorely disappointed, bought a Mach 6 instead which has become a gym shoe, just too dead in the foam personally, thinking I’ve made the wrong choice.
How does it feel compared to the ES3 later on? Very similar or good but quite different? Thinking I’ll have to re look at the ES5 or an es4 on sale shortly.

I have 220 miles on my pair. I love running in them, but I haven't had the same outsole durability as you. I'm a shuffling heel striker, so the outside heel wears down quickly in shoes and this was a little bit quicker than other shoes. Still a fantastic shoe that I should get another 150 or so miles out of. Another alternative might be the Zoomfly 6. I am using both shoes pretty much interchangeably.

ES4 is my current 2nd fave (after last year's DN2)! I actually have more than one pair! Especially love my Fleet Feet exclusive colorway but am kicking myself that I didn't grab the REI exclusive before it sold out. This is why I have trust issues with reviews. These are the most firm shoes I’ve ever run in and people are claiming it’s soft. Even calling shoes that are softer than this- firm… But calling these soft. And I prefer firm shoes. But these are the peak of firm.

    • @kofuzi
      @kofuzi  9 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +3

softness is a deceptively complex term, and it's also highly subjective. what's soft to one person is firm to another, as you've already observed, and proof of this is rife throughout this video, as I talk about shoes that I explicitly concede that many people like as they are but I have harsh words of criticism for.
      .
what I always recommend to people is to find a reviewer who tends to like the same shoes that you do. and go to that person first. it doesn't (and shouldn't) always be me.
but I hope that the fact that my experience differed from yours doesn't diminish your enjoyment of running or running shoes. I think it's a great time to be a runner. There are so many options available to so many different sets of preferences

For fast runners, Endorphin Pro 4 could be the training partner for Endorphin Elite.
I demo tested Mach X and Mach X2. Mach X felt meh, but Mach X2 is pretty bouncy which is similar to what I used to feel with Speed 1 and 2. What I didn't like about X2 is the heel counter or rather lack of it. The heel hold was not good. I have put my feet in X3 sample and liked the feel.
That said, I think Endorphin Speed is still carrying that versatility which is good but less fun vs the OG. I am hopeful for Speed 5.
Good luck at Houston. I am also running HM. I will try to say hello if I get a chance.

I thought of resolving this issue by buying a custom insole; however, it's not practical to buy another custom insole. Hence, what I did was sell them to other runners who were looking for and loved this shoe, based on their liking from the reviews of TH-cam runner bloggers. Yes, I was able to sell it successfully with a 5 percent discount since it was slightly used

The Boston has become a long run shoe with the ability to handle speedier efforts mixed in. It lacks the flexibility that the Speeds brings but it does what it’s supposed to do quite nicely. Adidas does seem to lack a viable option in that same space as the Speeds but frankly they really don’t need it.

When v4 of both came out I heard about many runners favoring the Speed over the Pro this time around. I’m another big fan of the Pro3 but didn’t love the Speed3. I stocked up for this year’s marathon season on late-manufactured Pro3’s but will have to figure out what marathon shoe to consider after that.

In the mean time, I tried a pair of New Balance Elites and they are much more snappy than the Pro 4's. The funny thing about the Pro 4 is it's a very comfortable shoe, I just don't feel fast in them.

With the tongue, I think it might be a reaction to the tongue on the Endorphin Speed 3 - I have that shoe now and the tongue is so thin it always slips down on my right foot which causes some discomfort from the laces on the top of my foot. So from my perspective an extra visual bit of tongue isn't an issue 😂

Per my question on yesterday's LS about an alternative to Mach6 to rotate with Hyp Max2 for LR's (some of which have GMP miles), I don’t want the MachX but forgot about the Speed4 bc I didn’t like v3. I also want some flexibility which is why I went thru 2 pairs of Mach6 mostly on LR's. What do you think about Speed4 vs another Mach6 for LR cushion? I know both are up to faster paces.

    • @laalaa99stl

@@laalaa99stlThanks-Ko did mention the Kinvara Pro but he knows the others wouldn’t work for me. I don’t like very soft midsoles which would exclude the Neo Vista and Balos, and the SuperBlast is way too chonky for me at 101 lbs 5’3”, very fast cadence. Even the NovaBlast -of which I went through 2 pairs-didn’t ultimately agree with my mechanics and gave me niggles. I will check out the Kinvara Pro and still consider the Speed4 or just another Mach6.
