      Because in the medical field the knowledge to be acquired and the responsibility that comes with it are so enormous, you are constantly striving to find the best way to learn as much as possible in the minimum time possible. And after you’ve learned it, there is always more to learn. So, finding effective ways to learn and study is always a goal. If you stumble upon one, you want to share with others you know go through the same agony. And frankly the iPad and the similar tech products, are amazing means to that end.

      Anything biology/chemistry related is going to benefit from an iPad Pro like device. From the various textbooks (saving on weight), notes especially with regarding symbols and diagrams difficult to type out, and the amount of paper saved due to the number of notes involved. It logistically makes sense and in many ways can save money and time.

    I've wanted to go to medical school since I was twelve years old and (hopefully and probably) I will start this late august in Sweden! My question is if you think I can "only" use an iPad Pro 12,9" and Apple Pencil (no computer) for taking notes, watch lectures/videos, browse the Internet, e-mails, use flashcards, make an occasional essay (for that I will buy a keyboard)? And is 128 GB enough storage, documents doesn't take that much space right? :)

    • @KarolineThePagan
      @KarolineThePagan 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Depends how much storage you want and it’s your choice to make. The most expensive is with 1TB, 512 GB or 256 GB. If you can’t afford something too expensive I recommend getting the iPad Pro with 128 GB it’s enjoy to download apps, instead of deleting try to offload so your not deleting the apps to save storage.

    • @leenalhassawi6330
      @leenalhassawi6330 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Use google docs and GoodNotes! It should save you a bunch of space and it’s in a safe place where you can always find everything. You can also link things to the cloud, 128 should be more than enough if you are thinking about materials and essays.

    Hello, great video. I would like to know why you chose the 11“ over the 12.9“? I heard that the 12.9“ got quite the same size as a normal paper and this would be quite convenient to write everything in class on.
    The other thing I would like to know. Which MacBook Pro you are using as a laptop for university? Which size u got?
    I am planing to study engineering this year and I am really looking forward to it.

    • @studycollab

      Hi Jonathan, I got the 11inch because for me I needed something light and more portable. So far I haven’t found it too small/inconvenient at all and actually it’s quite a reasonable size for writing notes in my opinion. And in regards to your other question, I have the 13inch MacBook Pro (I think the one that came out in 2018) 😁

    • @mochiis4481

    • @scoot5642
      @scoot5642 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chloe Amistom if you have financial trouble buying an iPad Pro, then you really shouldn’t, it’s made for professionals that will take advantage of the overpowered chip. The normal iPad works just as well but if you have cash to burn, the iPad Pro is much better. The 12.9 is about the same size as a normal notebook so I got that, much better for multi tasking (note on one side and textbook on other) but you can’t go wrong with either.

    I honestly bought the iPad for nursing school. I refuse to pay $500 plus on hard cover books when ebooks are cheaper and a lot of the times classmates have the e book version and will email it to you. Also, the note taking method had me specially since you could add pictures and I was printing and tapping them on my notes. Honestly, I have an MacBook and between the iPad Pro and MacBook the iPad is the winner. I still use my MacBook but I come back running to my iPad.

    • @jennypink7464

      What made you pick the iPad pro compared to the other iPads and why did you get the iPad pro if you have a MacBook? Also, do you think an iPad pro is better than a MacBook? Sorry, I am not trying to offend you or anything. I just want to know if the iPad pro is the way to go.

    • @Miriamloveshaely
      @Miriamloveshaely 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jenny pink no offense taken. I had previously a iPad Air and I loved it but it was slowing down, so I decided to go with the iPad Pro 2020 because it’s a newer version and I noticed it’s better to purchase some times newer models because like iPhones it seems they slow down. It’s just me but apple products are known to have updates and slow older models down or can’t perform the new updates. Between the MacBook and the iPad Pro is honestly your preference and what kind of things you want to accomplish with each. The iPad Pro it’s touched screen so if you could easily scroll down, light weight, you have the pencil ✏️, split screen option like a computer. If you purchase the keyboard you have a computer. I bought the iPad even when having the MacBook because of the pencil to be honest. I’m a nursing major and a visual learner so having pictures in my notes is a super plus. There’s a lot more you could do with it but like I said it’s really up to what you want to perform with it. Hands down for me the iPad Pro is my new homie so yes it’s better than a MacBook. To help you watch videos of iPad Pro things you could do. I honestly just needed one video and it convinced me. It’s a huge purchase either device so really research and make your decision.

      @@Miriamloveshaely Thank you!!! I was watching a lot reviews on the different iPads, but some only showed it to review the product and others did an unboxing or bought it for taking notes. I’d advise getting an iPad 7th gen because it’s not too expensive and it is still Apple Pencil compatible.

      I’ve been using the same process as this girl for 2 years, and I have a 256 GB iPad Pro and I’m only using about 75 GB right now. I’d say 128 GB is perfect, but anything less than that is probably not optimal

    Would you suggest the 11” or 12.9”?

    • @scoot5642
      @scoot5642 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was deciding between them 2 and if you dont mind caring a normal sized notebook around, then I HIGHLY suggest 12.9. I thought my 9.7 iPad was perfect and 11in could be an unreasonable upgrade so I got 12.9. I’m so happy with my decision. Much better for multi tasking, textbook on one side and note on other. However, you can’t go wrong with either

    • @studycollab

      The 11inch has been quite good for me, I don’t think it’s too small 😁 definitely more portable as well !

    is the 11" perfect as a "laptop replacement" for students? because all of the iPad videos I've watched where they recommend the 11" is because they already have a laptop or desktop at home, but I need something that is a laptop AND a tablet for writing down notes huhu

    • @user-zj1dd4ky6b
      @user-zj1dd4ky6b 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should go with a 12.9 inch then. Because you need that space, if you can try to go to a store and be able to see it. Stores here won’t let us hold the product which sucks but obviously makes sense because COVID. But I went today and got to see the product and I’ve decided to go with the 12.9 as a uni student

    • @katybakerfunshine
      @katybakerfunshine 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      from everything I’ve heard, the 2020 iPad Pro 12.9 in is a good laptop replacement, unless you’re in a science field and have to run programs. Otherwise, my primary device is an hp pavilionx360 laptop that can be a laptop or a tablet! I have an iPad Air 3 as my secondary device rather than trying to do everything on one device.

      D i would love to check them out myself, but I’m not allowed to go out yet because of the quarantine so I can’t really check it out myself. I’ve watched tons of ipad videos and it’s always either the 12.9 looked too big or just enough, and the 11 looked too small or enough, so I can’t really decide.

      Kat Baker i’m currently in my first year as a medical technology student. i’ve seen comments where ipad is enough even for those who are already a medical student, so I figured it may be enough for me too.

    Question!! So the MacBook that I currently use is officially 4 years old and starting to slow down and I have the option to buy a new device this year. Should I buy an iPad or new laptop? Btw most of my classes are gonna be stem classes

    • @jayceesharp1068

      Personally, I would get the iPad. I’m a bio major and the most helpful thing for me is being able to hand write notes but have them all in one place, but still being able to include hand-drawn diagrams.

    Does the paper like screen protector lose its texture (friction) where you write on the most /where you rest your hand on the screen?

    • @studycollab

      I haven’t experienced that yet!

      studycollab: alicia ohhh nice!! I think I’ll have to switch to that when the semester starts again! I’m currently using another paper textured screen protector and after writing about 30 pages of notes the friction/texture was completely gone.
