Thank you thank you! I was able to complete this ac fan fix in less than 4 hours! My husband came home to me just finishing up putting HIS Tundra back together! Needless to say he was thrilled I found a video to fix the issue and saved us over $2k at an auto shop! If a random mom can do this anyone can do this! 😁
Nice truck . Have the same truck sr5 tdr and i love it 175k miles everything original. No rust ir rot . Live in new England. The on off knob is tricky will have to fiix it to stays on some times
Thanks very much for the video, I called the dealer today and it was quite a shocker Larry!! I will tackle it! I love my Toyota's, worked 20 years in Toyota parts dept, but this was a bit too much. Cheers!
Mine was stuck on defrost mode so what I did is I got a long flathead screwdriver and forced those gears open . Works great so far and I didn’t take anything apart . In less than 5 minutes. I have nice cold air blowing out . Come winter I might push it back to where it was . Yes it’s half ass but it’s also 17 years old 👍
Which gears? Could you give a better description? I have been stuck on defrost for a while and getting ready to buy an assembly and replace hoping it is the cause...If there is a quick fix I can do that would be great!!!
@@wehsmith Better yet in this guys video towards the end he shows those two gears I’m talking about at top right corner . That very top gear is the one you pry up and you will get it out of defrost mode and more forced air out those front vents
If anybody is looking at this, that top gear let some air out of face vents, but just a trickle. My issue was after removing servo assemble the gears that are then visible. if looking at it from under steering wheel, there is a lever on the right that one vid says need to be in up position. It was not moving, tried several times, then tried a little more pressure (was doing careful so no break) and back and forth all of a sudden moved to the other position with a CaChunk! THIS opened the face vent !!!!! Also there was a misalignment in the gear under it with a gear you can only see if stick head way under.. notches visibly not aligned. Could not move, unscrewed the lever could get to and moved it to what looked like proper position. Now I have the air bowing out of face vents, no delay on startup, but I am not going to test if it will go to other positions and back til after summer is over.... I will probably post on tundras dot com with pic by this weekend ... username fuzzentropy
Did this cause a heat or cold issue also? My 2012 Tundras dumping cold air out of 3 vents on the drivers side and hot air out of the other 2 on the passenger side. All blower modes work.
Instead of taking the cover of the lower servo motor, I held the whole servo motor up to the black gear and reached up and dialed the heat knob until it started moving and lined up and pushed onto the gear. Good tip for taking that motor off. Would have been near impossible to line it up withit on.
Just got a quote for over $1400 to do this f ing dealership trying to take everones money and all so said have to evacuate the air conditioner and reinstall it after parts get put in

Ow did you get the pins to line up in the gears correctly. I wonder if they are in the wrong grove or piping out or what.
Well done!
Well done, concise and easy to understand, great hints. That could not have been easy to shoot.
I want to thank you for taking the time to make this video. Tremendous help to the next guy replacing these parts
Appreciate the tutorial on how to access this. Easy to understand and great video.
Great video man. Thank you. Hope your little one is still fixing stuff with you.

@@wehsmith just make sure you have a real long screwdriver for leverage 👍

Thanks for the video, enjoy that frosty
Great video super helpful and helped me fixed my vents!!!!
Excellent tutorial Caleb. You saved my bacon!
I can't seem to get the pins lined up into the gears. It feels like they are good to go, have it all screwed in and then nothing works correctly.
Where do you get the new part? I’m trying to fix my 2008 Tundra.
eBay
Did you take the airbag out under the steering wheel?

Noce workout really appreciate to let us know how easier this task. However wonder if the vent is working before your replaced the motor?

Fell like I have tried it all, feel like a dog chasing his tail. This is the second weekend trying to get it going.
Accucator not working when I change setting front , front and legs …
Probably need new ??
Is there a different process for accessing the servo if I have a column shift versus the console shift as shown?
I was hoping you showed how you put it back on because I’m struggling
Nice job, I have a problem with the conditioning and it only works after 30 seconds. Do you have a solution to this problem?
Good video, I hope I never have to do this on Tundra
I’m doing mine this weekend. 2010 sr5 crew max with 140,000 miles
@@jcsfive5670 Dude, come do mine will ya.... lol. She's a 2012 Tundra... Sounds like a dayum nightmare to me. ugghhh 😵💫😖
Doing mine now! 11 Tundra w 220k and she runs like a dream. Wife keeps telling me I need a new truck, but why!
very helpful brother
Thank you
You will need to watch this video as well for correct timing assembly. Watch the entire video th-cam.com/video/Yo9HTgMO2tU/w-d-xo.html
Amen! Everyone please make sure you watch this additional video to save a lot of headache!
What is the Thing to the left of fan speed
What about passengers heat and cool
My heater is only blowing warm air on the passenger side floor. Would this be the way to go?
Most likely
Also like to know, whitch actuators for driver and passanger sites can be located?
Thank you
