Just went there for the first time a few months ago. It was as expected. Great for kids. Lived in FL all my life and have driven by it many times but never went in. Took my wifes mother to get us there since she lives down the rd from it.
You don't have to remove the handle off of the shift lever to move the trim around it. Simply remove the fastener at the base, shift into drive or manual mode, lift the base of the trim plate, then move it back to release the front, then turn it left 45 degrees or so, and lift off. Shift back into park.

I've seen a few vids of stereo install and I don't think you need to take all that plastic off. I only take the bottom cubby thing, the climate control, the stereo and then I pull the days slightly out. It's much easier. Just an FYI.

@@Paulinaandjosh i’ve had it for two weeks now and I’m having some connectivity issues with it. iPhone will always connect but halfway down the highway It’ll stop connecting I’m having to press reset a lot I noticed mine is a little different and instead of the zlink it says Z link5. I’m 50/50 so far

The back up camera video will show up on the screen of the head unit. If you want it to show up on both you can try using a RCA cable splitter. Split the video coming from the camera to go to the head unit and the mirror. Without seeing how it’s wired I can’t say for sure if that will work though.

That is correct, the 4 original mounting bolts are not used. I was able to get the top two connectors to “click” in but it took some finagling to get it in just right. So far it hasn’t popped out and feels fairly secure but I do wish that it used at least two of the original mounting bolts for peace of mind.
@@Paulinaandjosh Sounds good enough. I wonder with some light fabricating if you could cut/rig the two metal plates that come with the radio to be used with at least two bolts to the original mounting points if you removed the climate control cluster for in place alignment..
I have the 2008 JBL factory head unit which sounds good but that’s it. .. outdated….I installed a similar 10” Android but removed it after a summer of poor performance, the battery drain was a big problem , wiring harness was nightmare, had to buy a pac interface which was just as expensive as the 10” Android .. before you buy check out the reviews this will save you a lot of headaches. 😢😢😢
You are correct! Not all Android head units are created equally. Some are complete trash. It is very important to research the brand and check reviews before buying. There are a lot of cheap fly by night companies out there. Go check out my channel. I posted a video a few weeks ago that you will like.

Hey man, I just got a tundra and ive been looking at these style because of the oem style fitment. Do they have normal subwoofer preamp outputs? Ive seen a few the have a single green plug which is new to me. Normally its just the red and white or left and right audio cables?
Bought this radio based on this video, and I was pretty disappointed with it. It's very slow and sucks at connecting to anything, and can't hold a connection. It looks great but is not very good

@@tripleBacres yeah no problem, I knew this was to good to be true but I tried it anyway. I wanted this to work so bad but it is what it is. One thing I forgot to add to this was the fact the radio was still stuck in the China time zone and could not be changed and it was super frustrating.
Is the head unit Viabecs or a different brand? If it’s Viabecs there’s steps to configure the steering wheel controls in the video. If that is not working try resetting the unit. If it’s a different brand you will need to check with that brand on setting up the controls, the steps may be different.
It can have it's occasional glitches here and there but It's minor stuff. I mainly installed it because I needed a screen for the backup camera and it works with the camera perfectly! Overall I'm happy with it. (Video for the backup camera on my channel)

CarPlay mirrors the apps from your phone like Google Maps, text messages, phone etc. If having apps like this on the stereo is important to you than you will want the option with CarPlay.

Looking at 2013 Tundra. Backup camera shows up in the rear view mirror. Assume that the camera would still connect with this Viabecs Apple Car Play and the camera would then show up in the new DASH display?
The camera video will show up on the mirror OR the Android unit. It just depends on which one you plug the video cable in. You can try using a video cable splitter to see if you can get both displays to work. I haven’t tried this but if you do let me know how it goes. Also you should check out my channel I have a video for a different Android unit you might like.

You would use Apple or Android depending on what type of phone you have. The head unit connects to your phone and pulls the information from your phone, Apple or Android and displays it on the head unit. You would disconnect the yellow video cable that is running to the mirror and connect it to the video input on the head unit.
I installed this head unit in my 2011 Tundra. I'm having trouble with the Zlinks app "skipping" like an old CD when I play music. Have you experienced this at all?
I have this problem when my wife and I are both in the truck. Since both of our phones are connected to the head unit Z link doesn't know which phone to connect to. There are no wires to reroute steering wheel controls, just follow the steps to program them to the new head unit. I have new video on my channel that you will like. Go check it out.
You need to get the one for JBL. Check out my channel, I have a Dasaita head unit install video. They have one for JBL. The stock back up camera and after market cameras will work.

You won’t need to buy an aftermarket backup camera. Right now the camera is wired to the mirror. For the camera to show up on the stereo you will need to wire it to the pink wire labeled back up on the stereo. You could try to wire both the mirror and the stereo but I’m not positive that will work.
I got the same one after watching your video and i loved everything abt it. But 3 months later like 2 days ago, it just stop working. My Bluetooth on my radio will not connect. It keeps saying i got to power it on and evertime i do under setting, it keeps turning back off. My android play will not connect as well. A almost $500 investment down the drain. Does anyone know how to troubleshoot shot this? Any help will do. Thanks
Hey josh i just bought one of these cheaper amazon android units... 10.1" roinvou is the brand.. $200 so didnt spend a ton on it. While attmepting to connect to zlink it keeps asking my phone to download a supposed zlink app and of course chrome warns me that the link is suspicious. I thought zlink was built into the android auto app? Just wondering if you had any of those problems...
i have a question, did you have to config the model of the car in settings, for detecting steering wheel control?, y bought one stereo, i conect the cable of the steering wheel control, but it dont detect it. i select the model of the car in settings but trundra don't appears en the menu,
I did not have to select the model of the truck. I would contact the manufacturer to see if that unit has different instructions to configure the steering wheel controls.
So i recently installed a new head unit very similar to yours, I noticed you had an extra connector that you didnt use, is that for xm or sirius radio?
If you have multiple yellow AUX cables try each one. It may be plugged into the wrong one. On my channel I have a video for installing a back up camera.
So far so good! My only complaint is the sound quality. It has lots of options to adjustment the sound to your liking but it doesn’t sound as good as the stock stereo imo.

The new stereo just clips in. The 4 nuts are not needed.

Yeah this dude sucks he’s a poser and knows NOTHING about trucks. Get a joying. Theyre about 500 but that’s what you spend to get a working unit

Hi what exactly is the CarPlay for? I’m considering getting the one you have but there’s a option to get the car play one and one without CarPlay.

On the unit I purchased Zlink was already on the stereo. I did not have to download anything on my phone only connect to Bluetooth.

I haven’t found a way to mirror. I don’t think you can but I would confirm with the manufacturer.
