Did this cause a heat or cold issue also? My 2012 Tundras dumping cold air out of 3 vents on the drivers side and hot air out of the other 2 on the passenger side. All blower modes work.

Every dimmer switch I have found on Amazon has a female pigtail, and the cable harness in the dashboard is original at it, too, is female!! How can this be? Everybody's reviews say plug and play; I don't get it 🤷‍♂️? BTW you don't have to remove the airbags or the steering wheel to get this changed out on a 2005 F-150. You might have to do it on other models i didn't on again a 2005 f150 4.2Ltr V6 2WD.

What truck, what motor?

I don't see why you have to take off the steering wheel and airbags assembly. After receiving a dimmer switch assembly from Amazon and all oof them coming with the wrong connector for the windshield wipers controls they're pinned female and the cable from the truck steering column harness is also female. So, I opted for this modification with screws and a (very) little filing it is working like never before. I know at some point I will probably have to replace it and will most likely have to swap (splice) the old connector on to the new one. I will cross that road then. Good video thanks for the details. BTW I didn't have to take the steering wheel off my truck to accomplish the repair.

I replaced the entire switch on my 2007 and I did not have to remove the air bag and steering wheel..I just removed the plastic shrouds that went around the steering column that covers the switch, wires, column, etc up

Professional electrical engineer. If your connection is so unstable that a bit of dielectric grease causes it to fail, then you have other issues you need to resolve first. Period. This stuff does NOT prevent current from flowing on solid connections. The purpose of this product is to prevent oxidation on exposed metal surfaces. The reason it is non-conductive (the part that scares non-engineers) is because if it was conductive, and if you were to apply it to contacts that were relatively close together, and you got a little grease bridge going, well, that could end very poorly.

great video i have worked on cars my whole life "not a mechanic" but when i used anti seize on my terminals on regular batteries in my state which is 60-70 dew point and 70-90 humidity my terminals would still corrode and i also have read that dielectric grease should not be put between the connections also... great video thanks
