      Did you use the same "TOP" for "ALL" OF YOUR "BUCKET HATS"?

  • @IMOO1896
    @IMOO1896 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I don’t understand how the hat fits since the middle (side) is slashed and spread. That’s the part that should fit around the head, not the circle at the top. I guess this is where some real ”figuring”comes into play. In my mind the correct head fit would equal the finished measurement of the middle section, then the brim flairs out from that.

      Don’t forget your ears ! Your head is a sphere shape and if you design the middle to be a tube then you’ll end up with a tube that sits on your crown to wide but covers your ears, or fits your crown but squishes your ears. Make a practice from paper and you’ll see 😊

    I LOVE the use of math to figure things out. Am not sure how your figured the "bend" of the brim and sides of the hat(1.5cm and 2 cm). Was that just a "best guess"? ..or what looked good? Thanks! Wonderful tutorial!

    • @AbisDen
      @AbisDen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. Any spacing will have given me a brim. I had another hat at home which I measured up against but the brim was a little different. Trial and Error is a good way to discover what you like. Making it out of paper first keeps it simple (and cheap)

      I did for one layer but for heavier fabrics like denim, you wouldn’t need it.

      I've tried to sew the right side of "top" to right side of "side" as you did,
      Without using pins.
      It didn't work out as nice as the one you showed.
      I don't know why

    Hi, really enjoyed your video. Was wondering how you made the brim more straight down on the "middle pink-checkered hat". Do we widen the slash spaces or more narrow? Thanks!

    • @AbisDen

      More narrow to make it straighter or wider for a bigger space. Don’t make it too straight, your ears need space too ☺️🙈
