I'm a visual learner and purchased 3 other tutorials from Etsy before I realized I can't follow written instructions lol. I need to see it showed to me unfortunately. Thank you for making this video and being very clear and concise as it is very helpful for learners like me!
Such a clear tutorial! I watched it only once. Amy was SO clear on every detail! Downloaded the pattern and sewed up the cutest bucket hat this afternoon! (in my house they are called "fishin' hats"!! Thanks so much!! All my boys will be getting new fishin' hats for Christmas this year!
My grandmother made one for me back in the late 70's while she was still alive. I wished for many years that I still had it. Now I can make one in the black and white buffalos print like my original and something fun in another print and have 2 looks unlike the original which was only a single. Thanks so very much. This will be fun.
Great tutorial and I love the hat. I can imagine machine embroidering on it before sewing the pieces together. This is going to be fun, especially making some for the Grands. Thank you!
I made the hat using 'oil cloth'...the material that you might spread on a picnic table. I used interfacing and lined the hat. Happy with the result but (a) hat is a little too stiff to squash into a bag and (b) I had difficulty at one place where the machine struggled a little to cross a thick spot. Hope to try another one in a more pliable oilcloth. Good luck making your hat.
@@amydomke605 Thanks, but can you be a bit more specific? How many inches around is this hat? Once I know that I could look up head size for toddler I'm guessing?
I just had the printouts of your bucket hat patterns done earlier today? And when you were pinning the pieces together? To make sure that the pieces are FULLY SQUARE. ALL three pieces were folded in half and a "pizza piece" notch was cut out?! As for the seam allowance? It was at 3/8". 1 cm approximately.
Hi. I love your pattern, thank you! I have been looking to buy a bucket hat for my 6 month old granddaughter, the infant size is to small for her. Do you have a pattern, for 6 to 9 months, or how do i make the pattern smaller? Thank you.
I have not made one yet. Just watched the (excellent) video. I am going to use fusible vinyl to waterproof one and see how it turns out. I doubt that it can be washed very many times????? It would be nice to keep the hat/hair dry if running through the rain. :-) I am debating if I will need to use interfacing also. Maybe not. Let me know how yours works.
I was disappointed with the pattern. It’s plenty big for an adult but the 3” band is reduced to 2” after taking off the seam allowance. That’s a very short hat. Then, the brim is overlarge and floppy. I would not call this a bucket hat. It’s a sun hat. Instructions were good.
You are a very good teacher! Love your videos!
after searching and watching MANY tutorials (was about to give up!)
THIS is the one I LOVE! Thank YOU!!

Excellent tutorial! Very easy to follow, and the pattern looks fun and easy to customize. Loved the "Shopping Cart" hat. I think I need one of those!

Thank you for this easy to follow tutorial.
Great job. Love this little hat idea. Thank YOU🥰
Thank you ! Wonderful tutorial !
Thank you for sharing your talent with us. You are easy to follow along with. Would you please do a tutorial with pattern for a welders hat
I found it easier to add the top stay stitch to the crown before adding the brim piece. Less fabric to deal with around the machine.
In addition, I find it easier to sew if you press the seam downward so when you do the stitch just below the seam, it will catch the seam fabric.
❤❤ I have printed my pattern and signed up for the email THANKS
Thanks dear, good tutorial but how can I measure someone for a bucket hat
Excellent video!❤
Ty for the free pattern.Only thing please try and get words where we can see your demonstration on the video
Amy you are AWESOME! Thank you so much for this tutorial "Easy Bucket Hat." You explained and demonstrated in a way that was truly easy!!
Thank you very much---to make the brim wider--can you show us what you mean by drawing a parallel on the pattern??? thank you...
If making one for a toddler would you use the pattern as is or does it need to be modified? What size head is this one for?
You can scale this pattern down to fit a toddler.
@@amydomke605 Thanks, but can you be a bit more specific? How many inches around is this hat? Once I know that I could look up head size for toddler I'm guessing?
We have just added child (21.5" crown circumference) and baby (19.75") sizes to the patterns on our website.

As for the seam allowance? It was at 3/8". 1 cm approximately.
Will this be big enough for a big head? XD Asking for myself.

I love this Pattern. How can I make it bigger
How much fabric do I need?
At 14:04 did you push the brim seam up towards the crown do the top stitching?
Is there a way to make the brim wider??
Is there a way to turn a tam into a bucket hat?
to be honest, your seams don't appear to be 1/4", more like 3/8' or 1/2" ...is this just for demostration purposes?
Has anyone tried making a waterproof bucket hat for the rain? If so, any tips, please.

what size head is this for?
About 23" crown circumference. The pattern also shows where you can adjust the size as needed.

Boo go to another channel then!
