  • There, I said it. It's going to be a luxury RV! And we start with building the kitchen. Lots of challenges but it might just still work out in the end.

    Holy schnikes that looks awesome! I confess I thought you'd need a huge oven to heat and bend the PVC evenly, but you pulled it off; kudos!

      Thanks. It was a gamble but worked out well in the end

    😮 WOW. It literally looks like a unit you could buy from a professional interior fabricator. I had a stupid idea for the loose utensils. Stick a couple of weak magnets under the drawer base or line the inside with a soft fabric, then they won't rattle during drives on rougher terrain. 😅 Cannot wait for the next episode Danie, always excited to see your creations ! 👍🏽 Thanks for sharing.

      Awesome idea !! I'm going to pursue the magnet idea for sure 👍

    Danie - Thought at first the color combination was a bit bold, but it works once you put it in place. Your piping arrangement is going to be tricky, but can be done. Will take some very precise measuring as you do not have much head room below the sink to get a P trap in for the drain, plus flexible hose to the tank. Waiting to see how you cover this. One thing I have been wondering about is how you are going to seal the sides so that when the side extensions are fully extended there is no air gap. Another one I am waiting on to see what you come up with. Lastly, how did you lose the prop shaft??? 🤣😂 I have lost nuts and bolts, keys, and small parts when rebuilding a car, but a prop shaft is in new territory, LOL. Hopefully it is safely stored under some of the material laying around the shop and you won't need to have a new one fabricated.

      Hehe. Loosing something this big from the face of the earth was a first for me too 😂. I have a plan (on paper) for sealing the motorhome but only time will tell if it works.

    I agree: WOW. Looks great! However, I'd be concerned about the PVC/foam material being stiff and strong enough to withstand an earthquake while loaded with pots, pans, cans of food, microwave, etc. Towing an Airstream trailer for five years now I've learned that the trailer undergoes a constant earthquake while in motion, particularly over pot holed roads. We're often tightening screws, replacing cracked hinges, and replacing popped rivets due to the earthquakes. Not sure if your choice of material is up for that, but I hope you prove me wrong. Cheers!

      So far I could find out the pvc is stronger than conventional chip board and I bond all panels in an effort to reduce any panels coming undone. But yes your earthquake analogy is something that is constantly in my mind. Only time will tell how much breakages I'll have to fix once in motion 🤣

    Danny broer 👌🏼 could have saved on weight by double pvc board and edging for the top, that counts are heavy I know, and maybe could have beveled the draw fronts at the bottoms or top to open the draws to eliminate the handles, which is phasing out, just my 2 cents broer 🙏🏼 looks very good though 👊🏼

    Hello maat, I always wanted to build a Ferrari F40 but hate working with fibreglass. Also the Ford GT90 will be a great project.So think about it . I am thinking of a aluminium chassis ala Jean Fourie style. I honestly think it is a better way to build a chassis with 5083 aluminium.

    • @BroughBuilt
      @BroughBuilt  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sounds like a dream project, but if I do an F40 it would be made out of carbon and cevlar. Check out our lates build, we're using 5000series ally

      SWMBO 🤣. I hope they'll be strong enough. Alternatively I can reinforce them by adding ribs on the inside.
