The exhaust looks and sounds stunning. Although I can't tell how much quieter it became, there is a noticeable difference in the way the exhaust sounds. Great work as always Danie 👍🏽 Looking forward to the next one, cheers.
I prefer the 'Spitfire' sound, even with the dead plug. 😂 I hope you have another exciting 'classic' build coming up after this one is finished. I've thoroughly enjoyed watching this one.
@@BroughBuilt This is just me personally, maybe your other viewers think differently, but I'd like to see an Alfa 158, like Ant Anstead built on Wheeler Dealers. He used an MG chassis & an Alfa motor, with a composite body. A relatively simple build, a beautiful car & apparently fun to drive.
Hi, this is an amazing build. The Dunlop style wheels look great but the car would have a 50's stance with a set of 80 section Blockley tyres would look better than those modern 205/60's.
Great work mate, car looking really good now, i keep noticing a bent tie rod? and position of tie rod ends may not be good for Akerman? camera never in that area for me to view properly. List of jobs getting less now and you can soon be cruising🙂
Hi Danie Looks great! Is there a concern of heat transfer from the pipes that might damage the paint near it? Also, is the perforated pipe "floating" within the outer pipe throughout? I'm not a car person in any way, but these are just some questions that popped up. Nice video as always 👍👍
Thank you! I'm also a bit concerned about the heat. The inner perforated pipe has no change of movement and is welded in position so I'm not worried about vibration or anything like that
@@BroughBuilt I also wondered about heat damaging the paint and vibration of the non welded end of the perforated tube. I thought you might also have wrapped the perf tube in steel wool.
It is a straight six with a cross flow head. Could be a 3.8 or 4.2 l engine . Who knows. It was a damn awesome engine for its time. There is not a lot of them in Australia where I sort of live.Apart from most poisonous snakes, Most poisonous insects, spiders, blue bottles, poisonous woman and extreme temperatures there is not much to see and of course hopping kangaroos and koala bears with long toe nails that scratch the crap out of you there is not much to see.
An H section will definitely help with sound but it's not necessary for the straight six as far as balancing goes. Also it would have made for a logistical nightmare to remove if both pipes were welded together 😁

Thanks!! Unfortunately the sound difference didn't pick up so well on camera.
I am amazed that you can do this. Well done.

Thanks Gary! I'm open for suggestions. 😉

Sounds beautiful, Danie! A perfect Jag sound. I have grown up with Jags since the early 50's and she's sweet 😊❤
Thank you Paul! It helps to hear the sound is in line 😁
The back pressure of the “silencer” made the engine run smoother in my humble view.
I think so too.
Or maybe the replaced plug?
That looks and sounds great!
Sounds pretty darn cool!!!!!
Making great progress. Sounds good.

Lekker Danie stunning workmanship 😊
Thank you!
I was actually thing today when is Danie going to drop a video! 🎉 D type is awesome, love the content ❤
Thanks! Perfect timing then 😁
You're an artist

What a car! Wow!
Fantastic! You're making me jealous... 😁
😁😁
I have no connection with Blockley btw but you should check them out.

Looks great!

Will the exhaust need heat shields ?
I think so. Can't see anything on original cars but I reckon the paint is gonna get a bit 🔥
Dammit man stop messing with us mere mortals!!!! nice job bro. FYI when are we marketing that sim race cockpit
I'm getting help in the new year. Will definitely start manufacturing them then 👍
Looking forward to that. I will definitely order as soon as you're ready
Hmm.... The WW2 fighter jet actually sounded quite period correct. Can't wait to see this on the street
Amazing work! Is it me or does it sound like half a Merlin (until it revs up at least)?
Thank you!
Like a good whiskey yes mate! 😂 Can deffo hear a big difference, sounds better with the silencers I think
looks great. Are the exhausts on one side only?
Thank you! Yes left side only

Dankie Dirk! Ek dink ook hitte gaan n probleem wees
Hi Danie, sit die silencer by die manifold .Net n gedagte.Ek sien daar is genoeg spasie.
Still sounds good with out the silencers :p
I agree!
Your next build I hope is an ac cobra but with an aluminium body.
I really hope to build an ali Cobra one day 🤯
SOunds the same to me.... not really. With Silencer sounds much better
Question - should you not have an H section?
An H section will definitely help with sound but it's not necessary for the straight six as far as balancing goes. Also it would have made for a logistical nightmare to remove if both pipes were welded together 😁
Bloody awesome job.
Hehe! Baie dankie!

Jy weet mos, as 'n Engelse kar nie olie lek nie beteken dit hys leeg 😂
Of Hy is al scrap metal
😂
Drool......
