Nice to see her in motion! Teething problems are expected. Been watching this build since the beginning. Can’t wait to see what future projects you have in store.
@@BroughBuilt Hi Danie. I've been thinking a lot about your next build. I still think my Alfa 158 will be a walk in the park for you, but what I'd really like to see & which is infinitely more desirable & even more rare, is a C Type Jaguar. Your D Type build, would've gone a long way to preparing you for a build like this. A lot of the components will be similar & another XK engine & running gear should be relatively easy to source. It is also a car that you will be able to register to drive on the road. The Ford big block, limits you quite a bit, but if I'm correct, your biggest limitation, particularly when building a coupe, is the glass. To find someone to cut & shape the front & rear windscreens, is not going to be easy. Whatever you build, is going to make for interesting viewing anyway. I look forward to it
Monumental job , I just don't believe that I would want anybody to see all the little things I have to fix or maybe even my mistakes , I'm not perfect but sometimes I look back and feel daa ,that was just wrong or maybe stupid, guess I m a bit self conscious , keep up the good work
Sounds superb! It looks like you’re sitting high in the car. I’m sure you’ve seen everything but there’s a great film with Mike Hawthorn narrating a lap of Le Mans back in the day.
I did a build with extractors like yours and the alternator was in the same position as yours. The heat from the extractors was immense. Way more than i ever expected. It melted the internals of the alternator especially the regulator. I built a heatshield for the alternator and i suggest one for your build would be a great idea.
I also wrapped the Exhaust extractors with motor cycle exhaust wrap. That made a big difference. As stated I made a shield for the alternator and another shield for the extractors. Cheers @@BroughBuilt
Amazing. Love to see you making progress. Is this your car? I thought you said in videos from a long time ago that it was someone else’s car and you had taken on the project. It looks so small on the street. Are the proportions correct to the original? (Overall length, width, height etc)
Danie, Good Day! What a lovely sight to see your D Type doing its maiden run, and the issues were minor! Did I follow correctly, the vehicle to be "delivered to its owner"? Now to see her upholstered and finished off! You have built a beauty! ..and is that a "buck" for something planned in the background? Now about that visit!... Smiles!
Hi Danie, maybe you can get rid of two shock absorbers on the rear suspension. Most probably the suspension came out of an XJS which was heavy cars but lovely for their time.
McLaren GT is the best of the best! Interior and exterior. It looks just like the real thing. I have seen many replicas of other people's cars on the net, but they are not perfect. I have seen many Lamborghinis and Ferraris, but the lights are different, and the Countach is easily recognizable as a replica. If you are going to make another replica, I would like to see the Ferrari F50GT, which is one of only three in the world. I believe you can make a perfect F50GT! I look forward to more of your perfect replica car creation videos in the future! From Japan!
Thqnk you very much for the kind compliment. The problem with Ferrari replicas is that the company don't like it at all. Worried they will want to seize and desist 😥
Wow the first drive and she looks like a million bucks, so excited to stretch her legs she even peed a little 🤗 Danie you have a steeep driveway man 😯 awesome to see another pair or hands in the shop assisting you now 👍🏽 Another great episode !! looking forward to the next one, cheers.
Didn't burn down or get hit by a taxi....... Successful first drive I think.... Ps.... That motorhome..... Is NEVER going out through the front... Hehehehe.
Congratulations!!!
There will always be some sorting out of small problems.
No worries. It is beautiful !!!
Stunning, what a beautiful car you have created. I have enjoyed watching the build from the beginning and look forward to seeing the completed car.
Thank you
Nice to see her in motion! Teething problems are expected. Been watching this build since the beginning. Can’t wait to see what future projects you have in store.
Thanks man!
It was still a successful (albeit short) test drive. Congratulations. Must feel great.
Thanks! Yes amazing feeling 😀
Great video. Minimal problems for a first test drive. I look forward to the next one..
Thanks Gary

Satisfying. I know, because I built a Cobra in the early 90's-before the internet. First drive is the best. Smashing project. Nice craftwork.
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing these fantastic videos with us!
Wow now that is something special. Well done Danie.
Quite a moment! You and 'Macro Machines' are masters of fabrication. A wonderful sound and I'm sure these are teething problems. Best of luck
Thank you Dan!
I think I can confidently predict how the owner will feel about it 🎉 stunning in every way!
Danie what a magnificent achievement, well done !!! The car is an absolute beaut
Thank you Norbert!
It’s a great achievement. Kudos all round.
Beautiful job. I'm looking at a 1958 Jag X140 coupe. I want to restomode it. The workmanship on your car is fantastic..
Sounds like a cool project.
After thousands of hours of work. "Hey! I made it a hundred metres!"
But you're right. It's a beautiful machine!
Welcome on board Mathew
Excellent. Well done. The most desireable built on Y/Tube.
Thank you very much!
It really looks awesome, great work
Watched all the videos , sad the drive were so short , i will be watching!
It's magnificent, congratulations!
Amazing achievement!!!1 Bravoooo. I have been waching....almost since start....what a build.
Thanks man! And thanks for sticking around
Reminds me of my old street I used to live on in vereeniging when I was kid ... minor tweeks and she'll be running like a dream 👍👍👍👍
Absolutely freaking awesome work mate 👌
Sounds and looks fantastic!
Awesome, beautiful car.
Congrats. Yes, HISTORICAL!!

Not yet but I will definitely go look it up

Thanks! I did notice it became insanely hot in the few minutes of driving. So I will definitely be following your advice 👍

Sounded great there for a bit. Going to be so awesome once done.
What is the plaster-car project there in the back ground around 12min 13s ?
Thanks Schalk! Don't want to give too much away yet, but yes another British beauty on the horizon 🤫
Looks good and sounds good. It'll be a beast when done.
Impressive keep at it don't give up.
What a beautiful machine... 😍❤️
Looking good matey!

Good job. Hello from Puerto Rico.
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing guys.
The GP cars of the 50's were the best looking ! This was when Grand Prix racing was very dangerous but they're so nostalgic!
Absolutely. Can't imagine that people actually raced these cars. And with only a leather helmet and goggles!
Wonderful job, looks great, beautiful.
Well done!

Thanks Dirk! Jip already got the next projects lined up😁. Come by any time!
Brilliant 👏

I thought about removing it, but remember some Corba kits also use both shocks. So we'll have to see if it's necessary
There are two on each side, one on each side will do and if it is coil over adjustable shocks even better.
@@mikeleonard8031 thanks Mike. I think I'll remove them then
Superb!
Nice! And you drove it uphill so it was easy to get it home, lol.
It was strategic 🤫
Guys, remember this is a custom aluminium body. Incredible!
Good to see this car driving, very exciting! Looks like the drive shaft yokes are out of phase ???
Well spotted. We realised just when it was too late🤦🏼♂️. But it's going in for balancing so we'll have the pros look at it
w0000t!!! Well done :D :D
Thanks Rachael!

Hoo-whee it shore is purdy (!)
😁
I don’t know if you balance the shaft, because maybe you have vibration.
Well spotted 😁. We will be sending the shaft in for balancing.
Yes, sir !🇩🇰
The neighbourhood is a fortress.
This is Africa😁
Are those crimp connectors on the electrics?!
How many people can say they built a d-type ? well done can see you have already started shaping a new car in the background.
Yip! Next one is on the way (two actually) because we've got more hands now 😁
😁👍

😂😂 Thanks man! Yeah I'm very excited that the finish line is so close now
A maiden drive IS the first drive, the rest start at second!
😁 jip
Wow!
Just Binge watch all videos in about 3 days
Awesome!!
Great job to bad the steering wheel is on the wrong side 😢
You don't need upholstery 'cause you just sit on your parachute...
Interesting day!
The car looks short compared to the original. How close is it to 154" in overall length?
Might look that way because this one is based on the earlier short nose version.
154 inches is the short nose length along with a 90 inch wheelbase. It's worth checking to see how close you've got it.
Prop shaft? Not a drive shaft? • Or, is this just British vs. USA terminology?
Same thing. You made me look it up 😁
Didn't burn down or get hit by a taxi....... Successful first drive I think.... Ps.... That motorhome..... Is NEVER going out through the front... Hehehehe.
We've got a bit of a bet whether it'll fit. I'm beginning to wonder that I might loose.
Its first. Not it’s first.
I was excited about this until I heard it has a Toyota gearbox.
Midnight spares?Dark angel came for a visit because it needed some money. Most probably you will find it at some scrap yard!🇿🇦🇦🇺🇬🇪🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺
Yup. Very likely became scrap metal 🪙
GREAT VIDEO KID, but crappy paint job ! AT LEAST REMOVE ALL THE OVERSPRAY
BS clickbait, not a D-type, it's a replica
