It looks like they're a couple of D handles attached to the cable. Some cables have 2 carabiner attachments, which is amazing, but unfortunately pretty rare. Edit: nevermind, it was just a dual cable
You will use your lower abs, too. But the focus is on the hip flexors by minicking the squat movements. If you kept your legs straight and lift your feet towards the sly, you would put more emphasis on your lower abs, but even those still utilize plenty if your flexors strength ti hold your legs

What about full rom strength? Like cable machine variation. Cause for sprinting and kicking we need them strong at lengthened position
