This is gold! My body, my patience, and my wallet thank you for not having to go to a physical therapist. I've always had weak squats, now I know what to work on.
Excellent instruction video, Daniel. Your videos continue at a high level of professionalism and production. This one speaks to all Westerners who give up the squat position so natural for all children. Asiain populations continue to sit this way.
Thanks. I'm optimistic because my resting squat used to be poor. I had to spend lots of time in the squat as a teenager to see change. Once you gain mobility it's easy to maintain, so keep up your daily squat!
Nice that you addressed some alternatives for people who have to raise the heels (many videos about squats miss this) and also the last bit about the expectations was great.
wait bro i just watched your 5 y old video "Increase Squat Mobility FOREVER!" taking notes and got my mind blown. And now theres is this ? Come on man i only have one body
One point missing from this video is, practicing your squat barefoot or with barefoot shoes (flat, no raise) will help with ankle mobility tremendously.
I can't even recall how many squat improvement videos I've watched and utilized. I'm in shape, but my mobility is awful, my ankles in particular are like that of a plastic action figure, 90 degree angle only, I can't even properly perform the majority of these movements. I so badly want to be able to squat again (used to as a kid), I'll be incorporating these exercises in hopes I can regain what was lost.
I'd continue doing your regular workouts. By applying this full rom, tempo and pause mindset, you will improve. Waiting is a waste of time, live in the process.
What should i focus on the most if my lower back curves slightly...i can quite comfortably squat all the way down but i can feel my lower back overtaking the load in the very bottom position
I'm a bit confused, @Kneesovertoesguy for the tibialis always says closer to wall easier, and you say in 1:52 Closer to wall is harder? Is this somehow different exercise?
Don't feel insecure if you are a fellow long femur, short torso'd trainee. Squats are always going to feel awkward and unnatural. Get some serious elevated heel lifting shoes instead of breaking your ankles trying to get them flexible.

Such concise, excellent instruction. The best!
Gonna do this for leg day. Thank you

As a squatting Slavic we were squatting while chilling on the streets and eating sunflower seeds! 😂
That's badass! I want some of the giant sunflowers for my garden so I can squat and eat seeds 😊
interesting choice of thumbnail on this one
GREAT video
This is a wonderful video. Clear instructions which I will implement daily.

Is it worth doing the annle dorsiflexion work if you have impingement?
Would it be better to do this as a substitute for leg day rather than a typical strength/hypertrophy leg day until better mechanics develop?
Yes

As a person with long femurs in relative to body and tibias, I have never been able to do a deep squat despite having OK ankle mobility.

For me is the deep Squad harder without Shoes.

It is harder. I don't know why, but when I did it, it was something I observed around a year ago.
I have the dorsiflexion of a plank.

We do it every day in the rest room 😅
But is your back so upright? And do you have a barbell on your shoulders while ur pooping?
A lost art in the West...
@@dominiquelaflamme7804 i’m in the west and still squat…it’s the only way I empty fully

Not doing deep squats !! My butt size became comparable to women butt from having a negligible butt 😂.. I don't have any intention to make it bigger
My ankles hate me, but I hate them too so it's okay
Yah, I don't think so..
