Agreed
Check out Conor Harris too
@@gelbageAgree. The three of them put out incredible fitness/mobility/posture content - Squat U, kneesovertoes, Conor Harris.
Bro if Bill and Ted actually had to come from the future to save someone important from the past. It would be them. Legit they are saving humanity the most of anyone.

Kelly starett/the ready state has potential as well. It's just not as easily digestible as squat university
Thank goodness because my janky insurance doesn’t cover PT.
Yes, Ben Patrick, Dr. Aaron Horschig and Dr. Mike Wasilisin from Move U are all saving us from ourselves.
Fitness4BackPain too
My knee used to crack and sometimes hurt but it got better when I started having full range of motion on squat (I used to do half squat)
Mines does that now. Always wanted to make them stronger but I use to think it was a condition. But will take this in for morning routine 😤
Yes, same and especially squatting barefoot
I heard from a doctor that to avoid knee pain, you have to get flexibility and strength. But the most important ist flexibility and it's faster to achieve.
I hope i write it correctly 😅
This couldn’t have come at a better time. As a tennis coach, my left knee has been wearing down and down until a point where I just can’t imagine recovering. These exercises give me new hope. Thank you, Squat University!
Just don't forget supplementation as well - collagen hydrolysate and glucosamine to help cartilage by providing building blocks and signals to regenerate, and oral hyaluronic acid for better lubrication. And, as a secret tip, taurine, because that'll work against inflammation in the synovial lining.
@@reinerheiner1148Oo thank you too. Are these found in pill form or other?
They have them in pill, powder, and liquid forms@@EmperorsNewWardrobe
You're so welcome!
@@SquatUniversity can you show those girls knees more frequently thanks
Glad to see ive been strengthening my knees without noticing, I've just been focusing on unilateral leg exercises since i do martial arts and they made more sense for in my mind since kicking is *pretty* unilateral lol
absolutely cracking recommendations as usual... the Cossack & Curtsey variations are brilliant 👍
Thanks coach. I'm on my way to build knees of steel. 💯 Stay blessed 🙏🏾.
Amazing, thanks a lot! I started getting not a pain but a weird feeling in my knees and I noticed that flexiing my quards helped but doing a pistol squad improved it even more - gonna try to slowly incorporate it into my workout and see gow i feel.
This content is priceless. These are all super tough for me. L5-S1 fusion a few years back has really put a new focus on my knee weakness and has revealed a lot of pain in both knees. I really hope this work can relieve some of the constant pain.
Love this channel and all the amazing free advice you give everyone!
thank you!
Perfect timing. I started a new job where I squat a lot. This will help. Thank you!
Youre welcome
This is very useful video that I needed. Thanks for making this.
This is very timely. My knees are struggling on leg day and runs. Thanks👍

Please keep improving the world and peoples knees with videos like this. Greetings from Germany
Thank you for you videos! They are always so helpful. I would like to ask if you could create a video about what causes TFL pain and how to solve it. It would be very much appreciated!

This video is a great reference for working on my knee recovery. Will you be able to do one for inner elbow pain?
Thanks for the amazing video, man ! Do you have any video suggestion for strengthening against movements that change direction, such as those that occur in tennis matches?
So thankful I found this channel
Oh yea definitely a good video for knees. I tell my patients the same thing too
Great information brother! Get it Dre!
This is *phenomenal* advice! Hip instability/weakness has been affecting my feet for running, AND lateral/rotational motion is something I'm *always* harping on for my "battlefield sport" (LARP). 😁 Really topnotch insight! Thank you!!
Happy to help!

Knees been feeling real bad. Been trying to fix it without going to a professional, we'll see. This channels helped me understand it.
Glad to help!
You guys are geniuses.
Can you please make a follow along spine & core stability workout videos.
Love this channel. Question though: If I have a torn meniscus, is this wise to do? Squats seemed to be the initial issue for me is all
Thanks for this great video. Would you recommend kickstand or Bulgarian squats are better for quad strength?
Great video, please make video to manage meniscus tear pain
Hi! I love watching your videos and I’ve been using some of your tips to help me squat! A couple days ago a car door closed on my knee (not extremely hard but enough to cause pain) and I thought it was fine because I was able to go to the gym for the next two days after that fine. Today, I was going again because it’s my full body day and after I finished warming up and moved to stand, my knee hurt really bad. I’m not sure if I stood up incorrectly but this has never happened before. After trying to squat I couldn’t because my knee felt extremely stiff and hurt once I sank into the squat. I’ve been making really good progress with my squats and Im worried this will set me back. Do you have any advice on what I can do?
Could you make a follow along video with these movements to do every day?
I just finished a gym pass with 3x10 on each of these exercises - and *wow,* I think this might be exactly what I needed! My knees feels already better ^_^
These are 3 great exercises. I would suggest learning the movement patterns without any extra weight first. Especially the second and the third one because the foot positioning here is trickier than it seems.
I’ve got one for you: whenever I do any split style squat or lunge, I get a sharp, hot pain at the end of my tailbone. It’s debilitating the moment it happens. I even got it once correcting my spine in the middle of a heavy military press. I know it’s impossible to diagnose without seeing me move, but is this something you’ve heard of. I’m an athletic, healthy, 35 year old who’s played sports my whole life (for context). I have some single leg stability issues due to a torn ankle a year ago and plantar fasciitis that I’m trying to strengthen.
I’m worried it’s going to get worse over time and I’m hoping I can prevent that.
If you request, I can take some videos.
Excellent video
@squatuniversity, love your videos. Do you have strong feelings on using knee braces during these exercises? I've been getting stronger in my knees lately after doing balance exercises, but I still wear braces when doing squats with kettlebell and club. Sometime I wonder if I should be doing some without them
What about crunchy knees? Or is that just cartilage wear and can’t be helped
Excelente Dr.. Por favor sería muy bueno que el contenido tambien fuera en español. Gracias.
Excellent Dr.. Please it would be very good if the content was also in Spanish. Thank you.
Would you recommend performing these exercises if diagnosed with osteoporosis around the middle of the knee cap?
I found the full video! ❤
Hello! Thabk you for sharing such great videos.
Question: are those exercises good for someone with chondromalacia patella?
I like seeing your content, they are so helpful, is there any video for knee when after bending (bending part has no pain) when straightened it pinch , i cant figure why this happen n how to fix this, perhaps you can help ? Thank you
Started doing rollerblading couple of years back and knees feel bulletproof
this is great stuff
useful tips to kneel down on the cement floor surface when praying and intercession.
I like adding clams and some type of pure hip ABD to ensure there is no compensation when working those muscles. Also sometimes have success with ankle ev/inv, since sometimes balance is decreased on the affect leg and drives knee position. Also, don’t forget about shoe wear.
Very nice moves! How many kgs is the ketbel?
More Squat U gold !
Just did some kickstand squats this morning.
That dudes quads!!! I want his workout program!
🤣
Is there a video on how to heal tricep(s) tendinitis? If so, please let me know and if not, please make one!
Hello do you have any rehab exercises for heel stability? Thanks
I may have some combination of IT, Mensicus tear, patella and popletus tendinopathy problem in my dominant leg fron Heavy back squats.
What exercises are good for pain on the fibular head when jogging and when activating hamstrings by pushing heel down and back against mat/bed ?
Please create a video for kettlebell benefits
What is the video you were linking to at the end? There was no box up in the corner to click for the knee pain video you mentioned. Thank you!
👏🏾👏🏾 Thank You 👏🏾👏🏾
You're welcome
need a every day 5 minute morning stretch routine :D
Big up!
Hey squat university, should i do all of these exercises in a workout or only a select few ? Thanks!
Part of my left meniscus had to be removed because it was completely torn apart and I am starting to feel the same pains before I went to the doctor's for it in my right knee. I am hypermobile, which means as I understand it that my joints are inherently more unstable due to more collagen than usual. I am hence very wary of exercises for knees so would these work for a hypermobile disposition? I had issues with curtsy squats/squats in the past but I don't want to "not" train my legs! They are my favourite part to train 😅
i am at a point that i cannot make a single squat without pain or cumulative damage both are very small but add and add slowly. the only exercise i do that helps are laying flat straight leg raises with weight, so i get stronger muscle without flexing the knee
Kickstand stand. Cossack squat. Curtsy split squat.
@Squat University I'm struggling with L5-S1 herniation, next to that I have pain in my left knee. Would you advice these exercises or rather wait for L5-S1 to heal?
Collab with Adriell Mayes!!! Hell yeah!!👍
OMG look at those quads :O
I have a lot of crepitus on my knees with squatting, would this set of exercises also help with this?
Good video. In your book and in videos you mentioned stepdowns as the best exercises that one can do to stay athletic. Just wondering about this
That's another excellent one I use as well!
@@SquatUniversity Appreciate the feedback and thanks for the video. If you have a minuute can i pick your brain on knees tendons issue, would these be useful or one would rather have more quad dominant exercises; (Knee drives forward past the feet)
Aint the 3th exercise also be colled dragon squat? That also have cross step back.
Can you make a video for tarp and neck pain?
So when I’m coming up from the squat (particularly thinking curtsy here), I should be pushing from my glute and the back of my leg, yes? (Core engaged, obviously)
Sorry if it’s a stupid question - I have hypermobility and only recently did I realise I tend to push from my quads mostly, I think this has knackered my hips somehow 😅
I’m new to lifting and want to get it right!
Gold 👌
If we are already running a program, do you recommend doing these exercises after squatting/deadlifting or on a separate day?
What are some exercises I can do for top of the knee pain? Right above my knee cap always is irritated.
Will these excercises help for knee rehab or previous knee injuries or are these too difficult to start with
Amazing crossover, ❤
I'm glad you like it
❤ this channel
THANK you!
I love you squat university
Honored
Doc, I've been following u guys for years now, I live in Brazil and just please, read this and give me some light. I've been lifting for 10 years and found out I have FAI on my right side. What can I do? Is there anything? I've been losing hope cuz even after dozens of sessions of physiotherapy, I can barely squat without pain.
My healthcare doesn't cover the surgery, just barely covered the physiotherapy sessions, and I don't have the money to do anything else. The last doctor I went to said I still have some cartilage, probably because I have very strong muscles, but my legs r shrinking, and all the dreams I have for bodybuilding r dying.
Could you please make a video on scoliosis? What exercises for mild one? Is there a possibility to reverse it instead of just making sure it doesnt get worse?
I'll see what I can do, thanks of the suggestion
@@SquatUniversity thanks a lot, brother, your videos are helping many many people! Keep it up!
So if we have a Degree of pain in knee, mainly patella tendon pain max 2/10 then are we ok to carry on without the risk of making things worse but in fact as strength around the knee will increase thus taking the load ?
Abduction. Abduction is probably the root cause for a lot of people. Fire hydrants are excellent for this. Doing fire hydrants while standing and holding onto something was the greatest exercise I have done for my knees. Good luck trying to figure out what helps with knee pain!
please make for whole body stability
