Thank you for your instruction. I find you easier to understand than any other presenter on TH-cam who teaches about Luminar Neo.
Wow, thank you!
Super excited for the update! As always you nailed it demonstrating all the features. For me the water enhancer is a game changer! Some of the 'added features' like file name and status are really nice too. Thanks Darlene!
I agree! I think you'll like it
Thanks for giving us this preview. I am looking forward to getting the update. Lots of great new features.
No problem. Which one will you try first?
@@DigitalPhotoMentor Maybe the new landscape Ai tools.
@@aktrailrider Cool you'll like them
Sensational! Thank you for sharing your super human powers!
Lol thanks
have already used it a few times and I am really impressed. You also pointed out a few things I haven’t used, but there are several youtube videos by other authors I have watched.
Which things are those? I'm working on it lol
Great Preview Darlene! Looking forward to the update!
Thanks so much!
Thank you Darlene. I'm looking forward to the update. (I got excited when I saw the waterfall example because I was there in Obtober - Multnomah Falls Oregon)
Yes that's the one!
Very well explained - this is some update!!! Looking forward to testing these great new features
Have fun!
Thank you for an informative video. As of today, May 10th, 2024, out of the 3 Luminar Neo 1.19 video reviews I've just watched, yours has the MOST DETAILED DEMONSTRATION of Object Selection.
Wow thanks so much
Great review looking forward to it all but especially the luminousity tool 👍
Coming soon!
The updates look great, I'm forward to testing out as soon as it's available. Thanks for this first look at new features.
No problem!
Excellent information and demonstration Darlene 👍
Thank you kindly
The luminosity mask ROCKS 👍👍👍
You tried it out? What kind of image did you use it on? Landscape? I know most people that do that kind of photography (I don't) are most excited about that tool.
I look forward to trying out the twilight enhancer to liven up blue hour images.
It's quite good you'll like it
Sounds great...can't wait x
Which one you wanna use first?
@@DigitalPhotoMentor everything 🤣
luminosity masks so helpful though
Excellent run-through. Thanks
No problem!
Great video ... can't wait to try it.
Which tool do you wanna try first?
Outstanding new enhancements.....your tutorial may be better :}
I hope so!
looking forward to it,,, thanks! (i'll try not to go overboard🙂)
Good call
It 11PM here in Sydney, looks more like it will be April 26th and not 25th.
Yes, it's 10 AM here in Chicago and it's not available yet. Wish Luminar would make a launch time/date announcement
It usually rolls out
@@tomrohlf5701 Got it on the morning of the 26th.
Excellent update and good review. I believe, however, that we have always (or at least for a long time) been able to type in the numeric amount for sliders.
BTW, my mother was 4'11".
I had never done the numbers before. I think they were there but not directly typable.
@@DigitalPhotoMentor Jim Nix has been doing it (occasionally) for some time.
Is Darlene 4'11" ? My late wife Dawn was that height.
Hope this update is for everyone. Looks like a few functions I might use, but, the site does show 4 days until release. Perhaps the counter is not working properly because I heard the 24th or 25th.
It's the 25th and everyone gets it with an exception on the batch HDR. Only those who currently own the tool get that update
Given past performance, I am reserving judgement until release but I am looking forward to object selection and luminosity Masking
fair enough
Great review, thanks! When do you think the update will be available to the public?
I think I mentioned that in the video but it's coming April 25th for everyone
@@DigitalPhotoMentor Thank you!
@@petecost9612 No worries
I tried the New HDR, i just wish it could solve barrel distortion and straight lines according to lens or have a custom 4 point just like Lr or Capture1.
You can do that after using the Develop Raw tool no?
I'm kind of surprised at how bad the "object" detection was on the eagle on a clear sky. Does it usually get that wrong?
I haven't tested it that extensively to be able to answer that. But I will be sending the image and notes to Skylum
I agree. While the other new and improved features are great, I also thought the object selection was way behind Object Selection in other tools such as Photoshop. Neither are perfect, but based on the eagle selection, I'd say it needs more work.
@@DigitalPhotoMentor Sounds good, I appreciate the reply! I'm kind of in my "trial period" after ordering the lifetime license a few days ago. Overall I'm very happy with the program and some of the other features.
@@ConciseTechTV awesome!
@@SteveAmesbury1 wait and try it yourself, also keep in mind I have an early beta version so the final release may be improved
but Darlene you don't look so blown away..
Meaning what?
Still waiting for frames/borders like on1 dxo et aj
You can do frames and borders. Just use layers. Then you aren't limited by what's built into the software. You can find edges and overlays online and use any!
Walmart the official sponsor of Neo 😂😂
Ha. Now that you mention it
I don't get it. Oh the star?
I bought the subscription but it only gives me the option to upload 10 images at a time for the HDR Merge, what am I doing wrong?
The update isn't out until April 25th. So you just have to wait a few more days then install the update
When is this update available?
April 25th
Does the HDR merge generate a raw/dng or jpg merged image?
A TIF
Madam, I cannot download this up date ?
Then you need to contact Skylum support. I cannot solve that sorry
It still a shame that these software still doesn’t know how to handle Boudoir Poses. Not so smart AI tools
Not sure what you mean by that. Handle them how?
Still lacking support for editing and saving in DNG format... i've been asking for this since launch. ON1, DXO, Lrc, Capture One allow this, sadly Skylum thinks this is one exotic, useless feature. Until that happens it's a blocking stone in my workflow, and I can't truly recommend Luminar NEO. I can't understand the logic or the difficulty... sry.
Yep I want the ability to export in DNG to, I can on Capture one with edits but I love the ease of use of NEO.
Can I ask why you need that? If you export as DNG then what are you doing with it? Help me understand the workflow.
@@DigitalPhotoMentor I would like to point out that a DNG file is usually one-third the size of a TIFF file, which means it requires less processing. Additionally, DNG retains the properties of a raw file for future use, unlike TIFF, which can be overwritten. DNG is widely recognized, so I agree with @avotutu that there's no reason not to include this export option in Luminar Neo.
@@jtophotography Well no that's not accurate as far as I understand. A DNG is a compressed file that's why it's smaller. It has nothing to do with needing less processing. A TIF yes will get overwritten but not inside the Luminar Neo catalog. That's not how a catalog program works - none of the images in Luminar are being overwritten, even the JPGs. The ONLY time one would get overwritten is if you exported it, edit it in something like Photoshop that is not a database, and save over it. But again, why you would do that I'm not sure. I genuinely cannot see the reason a DNG export is needed - I literally NEVER use it from Lightroom either even though that option exists.
@@DigitalPhotoMentor the same we do with the other sotfware: keep working in raw format. Is everybody else wrong?...
