I'm curious how this is considered different than the Ultima II filters. Both seem to be a static bed of plastic media?

So basically using a mb filter as a mechanical filter? Why is the water so dirty if it has been through the Nexus? It is easy to make a DIY version for a tiny amount of the cost.
