Just came across this review whilst looking for details and opinions on the Surge, one thing you’ve overlooked about the throughput is the need for maximum contact time to kill the algae spores, personally I would suggest people consider running at the 2500lph to take the best advantage of this inbuilt UVC.
No no no. As before best thing is to keep it simple. A new UV unit, second hand Kockney koi bay filter, plenty on Facebook/e bay. Re-furb with a media of your choice. Jobs a good un. Unless space is a premium that is very different.
