The new Curado is an older Zodias with some new colors and cosmetics. Reusing old materials is very common and saves a lot of money in manufacturing costs. So you can efficiently and cheaply rebrand several generation and keep the cycles alive.
When I saw this model come out after being a zodias and expride only user I was super excited. The fact we have the same technology as the old zodias for 30$ cheaper and a better color IMO has me ready to buy a few. Definitely bang for the buck.
*Wow. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend I must say this rod has exceeded my expectations. Nice quality, budget friendly rod. May have to buy another one in the near future!*
I have the exact same combo, probably my favorite combo I own and I even have higher end stuff. 15lb braid and it’s the best wacky rig setup I’ve ever had.
Ladybass out of curiosity is your mom Wanda Taylor? You resemble her a lot. I really enjoy fishing my Zodias rods and they are a great $200 rod. Great rod review.
It sure did get a big upgrades and it looks better also! With the Xpower and the new reel seat going to a big huge upgrade because it the same price as the 18
Great review Isabella, l gotta get me paws on this rod. I'm still using an old 6.6 ft Compre rod with a Stratic FH reel. I reckon it's time for an upgrade. Looking forward for your next video. Happy fishing Isabella 🎣🎣🎣
Just to be clear the guides got downgraded on this newer model. I really wish Shimano would put the VSS reel seat on some of the rods its much more comfortable to me than any of the in house reel seats that they use.
ST. Croix does make some good rods, but not all their series rods are made in America so just know that unlike some of the comments below. Kistler rods are America made and are sweet rods for the money and their customer service is top notch. Check out the helium and the KLX series rods. I own all of their series rods and the magnesium is a turd and the z bone is over rated for the price even though it’s a great rod it’s not worth the price, but the helium and KLX definitely are. I throw ST Croix - kistler and g Loomis all make good and garbage rods like every manufacturer. Thanks for your review I’m always looking to try something different
Right? I can't STAND cork handles... They just feel so work and awkward. Worst part is most all the great mid to high end rods have cork handles.... Wish companies would give the options to choose handles
Comparing the new zodias and curado rods, the zodias has the new monocoque handle and i find the zodias’ more crisp or sharp compared to the curado rods - I do prefer them
@@LadyBass I don't have bass on the reservoirs but I have huge pikes, zodias does them very well, I think to try kurado, but I thought that there is a long handle in kurado and it is not convenient for catching a wobbler
Hey ladybass thanks for the great video I'm going to be switching over to all schimino gear. I've seen some of your videos your very talented young lady I wish you success in the coming years with your u tube channel. I wish I lived in Canada. To tell you the truth I've been seriously thinking about becoming a Canadian citizen and moving out of the United States. I've been there a few times in my life and it's so beautiful up there. Anyway God bless you and your family.
Like the xpower design but I dig the black and cork look better, just bought a used curado 7'2 mh glass from American legacy, should be here Sunday. Throwing a curado k on that girl
Sad thing none of them guides cost more than $4 each. Alconite for about $3.50 and fazlite for about $2.75 each. Might have them backwards but you guys get it
You should've realized they aren't even being released from tackle warehouse until December this year. Tackle warehouse doesn't even have them ready yet lol.
I'm a fan of the Curado reel, but a bigger fan of the Berkley Lightning rods. I have tried many brands including St. Croix.. I always end up going back to the Lightning rod... Best bang for the $$ , just my opinion.
the old curado were shit, honestly buying a shimano isn't a great idea, for the price you only get a one year warranty. i own a zodias and love it but only paid 169 on sale, it would be stupid to pay 300 plus for a rod with one year warranty. compared a a legend tournament or even the high end fenwicks

The only thing I don't like about the Zodias rods is that I don't like the thin handles. Thank you for the review.
My buddy has the zodias I have the curado last year. This video was excellent thank you . 😊
I only fish st.croix rods, love my shimano reels but go st. Croix rods all day long... Great review LB....
Same. I buy American made when I can.
I mean thats fine if thats what you like. But St Croix, Shimano, G Loomis are all great rods
Thanks for the update on the new curado, have the last generation 7’1”M, like the cork grips and balance great with Stradic FL. Great review thanks!
I have the exact same combo, probably my favorite combo I own and I even have higher end stuff. 15lb braid and it’s the best wacky rig setup I’ve ever had.
I use the 7’4M for lakers and tubes, great rod!👍🏼
@@LadyBass I’m sad they didn’t bring back the 7’1 model, I’m wondering if the gcx MH is similar.
Can’t wait to buy one of these🔥
Awesome! Thanks for the review!
I’m really thinking about pairing one of the new curado rods with the new 150 curado 😍
Super not a fan of foam. How’s hit holding up after 2 years?
I’m very very very excited about this rod! And I thank you very very very much for the video 😂🤣🤛🏼

Picked up a Zodias casting rod yesterday
Great review, very informative 💜🎣

Thanks lb,awesome breakdown ☮😎

i still have a few sensilite rods when they were the spinning version of the compre casting rods with shimano symetre reels from the 1990's
Just to be clear the guides got downgraded on this newer model. I really wish Shimano would put the VSS reel seat on some of the rods its much more comfortable to me than any of the in house reel seats that they use.
Great video . I just ordered one.

St Croix all day for me also!
Great video👍
Sharp cookie, good review
So glad they got rid of the old-school cork handles and went with the gripper EVA grips. I will be grabbing one very soon!

nice!!! my nxt spinner setup i believe
Looks-wise at least, the previous model looks SOOO much better.
Very informative. Thank you
Hot do you feel about the jerk bait rod in the curado series
For sure cop
So would you say they are similar?
No, the new curado is more like the zodias
Hi, your opinion is better than Kurada or Zodias??? Or are they two identical spins???
Comparing the new zodias and curado rods, the zodias has the new monocoque handle and i find the zodias’ more crisp or sharp compared to the curado rods - I do prefer them
@@LadyBass Toist I understand correctly that the rod itself is better at Kurado than at Zodias?
@@LadyBass I don't have bass on the reservoirs but I have huge pikes, zodias does them very well, I think to try kurado, but I thought that there is a long handle in kurado and it is not convenient for catching a wobbler
The expride B took the place of my Zodias rods much better rods but great review.

That's a good looking rod 👌

Im a cork fan too, and awesome 👍🏼
The new curado and zodias are so similar to the expride I don't understand the price jumps....
The biggest difference is the guide trains (which can easily add $75-100 to the cost of a rod):
Expride is SiC
Zodias is Alconite
Curado is Fazlite
Sad thing none of them guides cost more than $4 each. Alconite for about $3.50 and fazlite for about $2.75 each. Might have them backwards but you guys get it
I hope I can buy this device later 😎😃
👍
That's messed up girl. I ordered 4 different models and still havent got them. (Tackle wharehouse)....what the hell? Great video. Tho now I'm jealous
Yea man it has been difficult to find gear this year!
You should've realized they aren't even being released from tackle warehouse until December this year. Tackle warehouse doesn't even have them ready yet lol.
Ładna wędka.
The handle on the curado is too long. Do you want a rod that cost less than both those rods? Check out the major craft benkei.
All look great upgrades apart from the handle I'm old, skool. Give, me, a Cork handle, any day, better, quality
Give me one of your old rods lol 😅 my Salmon rod broke
Dont have any salmon rods unfortunately!
