Hello, I can't find any video on youtube that compares Satechi with ziketech. Have you already tried the Satechi model? Please help us, we need an expert.
I'm having some compatibility issues with the Mac M4 Mini - the Satechi enclosure mounts via the front USB C ports but not via the Thunderbolt 4 ports at the rear. Waiting to hear back from Satechi on this issue - I have seen a few users note that the cable supplied isn't Thunderbolt 4 compatible.
Trippy. I use mine with that cable on my Mac mini m4 the other day no issues. I’ll try again for you. I either used that cable or my Oyen u34 bolt cable in my latest Mac mini ssd video.
Good to know! Just browsing tech. The acacis tb 4 usb 4 enclosure I have gets around 2800 with my ssd. It’s also cheaper now than when I bought it. May be because new ones could be around the corner.
Ironicaly, the address for Satechi is right where I live in San Diego, Ca. I couldn't get ahold of them on the phone this morning, so I'm wondering if this enclosure could be used with a thunderbolt 3 windows OS on a laptop? I've only seen videos where they use it with a MAC. ? Thanks. Marc T.
If I use a NvME card in this unit with a DRAMless design, and format it to exFAT, will it still work in my iPad mini 6? Thinking of the Lexar nm790 4tb...
One of the simple issue for USB 4 NVMe enclosure should be easily solved which is heat management. Enclosure itself is so much expensive and instead of passive bulky cooling a simple form factor where enclosure is similar width to M.2 while the length is a bit a long to adjust small fan which spins in a breeze and cools the enclosure actively. Such hefty price for hefty design with passive cooling is lazy design and rip off mentality of these companies. USB 4 should have been dirt cheap by now. These companies just want to make these simple products a premium like take out your all money bs stuff.
Hi Adam, I recently bought the case you recommended with the same SSD, and I’ve been having some serious issues with it. The drive randomly disconnects from my Mac, even when I’m not actively using it, and it’s caused file corruption several times. I’ve tried troubleshooting, but the issue persists with both enclosures I purchased. This makes the product unusable for any reliable storage. I just wanted to share this with you as I think it would be useful for others to know as well, that this might not be the best option for long-term data reliability. Do you know of any other brand with similar speeds?
Yeah that sounds like a no go. Can you contact satechi support and let me know what they end up determining? The reps from there were really nice and I know they will take care of you.
I agree this does not make sense unless the case is improving heat transfer by better passive heat dissipatiom from improved airflow like a cooling tower! Although that would require a vertical thermal rise arrangement or position.
i‘ve ordered two of these (TEAMGROUP MP44L 2TB SLC Cache NVMe 1.4 PCIe Gen 4x4 M.2 2280 Laptop&Desktop SSD (R/W Speed up to 4,800/4,400MB/s) TM8FPK002T0C101 ), but i’m not sure how to pick an enclosure. are two singles or a dual enclosure better? using with the new mac mini m4, for plex.
Hey great video! you have been a great help with what storage to buy. I bought the device above with a Lexar NM790 4TB SSD. Doing a speed test and only getting 1817MB/s write and 2814 read. So the 40gbps is just what the connector supports, but its rare to find a device that hits the whole thing.
