    I had the falkens At3 when they first came out on my 2wd f150 and did better then some guys in 4wd trucks but also in TX which im sure its not the same ice or snow but they did wonderful and i was still running like 20 psi

    It’s crazy that you say that about the AT3W! Everyone is saying that the new AT4W is actually worse! I’ve watched a lot of show reviews on the BFG KO3 and it sounds like they’re the best bang for the buck! Thanks for the video! 🤙🏽

      @@REDDEADREVOLVER1 I heard that the AT4W was supposed to be a direct competitor to the K03! If people are saying it's worse than the AT3W, then this video will back that up 😂

    Great video. I recommend using the K03s as summer tires and running Hakkapeliittas in the winter. They make an incredible difference. Your car would have been able to do most of those trails in 2WD and would have made the hill climb on the first attempt.

      @@tyeetamer This is my daily driver, I live in a state where you can't use studded tires on the road. They look like a great option for driving in bad conditions on road, but I don't think they'd be much use offroad. They have extremely weak sidewalls and are thin, they would most likely blow immediately, especially if aired down. They also have very small lugs, not super good for other than snow offroading. I would bet money that they'd perform much less than the K03

    • @tyeetamer
      @tyeetamer 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @ How much do you want to bet? I’m in the same area and will meet up if you want to put some money on it.
      You can get unstudded Hakkapeliittas in LT sizes. Why do you think they have weak sidewalls? My daily driver weighs 7k unloaded and about 8,500lbs on trips and my p-rated Hakkapeliittas do great aired down or towing a 5k lb 24ft snowmobile trailer on forest roads. My truck has 3PMSF rated AT tires for daily driving, Hakkapeliittas in the same size for winter conditions, and MTs that are a few inches taller for serious off-roading/ durability. The Hakkapeliittas are a night and day improvement over the other tires, even in deep snow. Yes, small lugs, but in the winter it’s all about rubber compound and siping. Winter tires are signed to accumulate snow because snow sticks to snow better than rubber does.
      Recently went out with my buddy in his 4Runner with AT3Ws in the exact same size as my Hakkapeliittas. He started getting stuck before I had even shifted into 4WD. Ended up needed to be recovered 8 different times trying to follow in my tracks before we gave up and he hopped into my truck so we could keep exploring into deeper snow.

      @ Im down to compare. If you watched this full video you'd see that AT3Ws are not too good in snow apparently! If these tires you're talking about were actually good for this stuff, everyone would use them. No offense, word spreads fats in the offroad community, especially about the "best" tires. That's not the case. They look like street tires with extra siping and studs. Are they even 3 peak rated? they look fragile. not that that matters a ton but still. Never heard of em!

      @@sheatay2003What size tires are on your 4Runner? Yes, happy to meet up. Sometime in January?
      Agree that AT3Ws are not the best, but definitely middle of the pack for a 3PMSF AT tire in the snow. Just used that as a reference because they were the most recent tires I have a direct comparison with. He was not sliding off and getting stuck in deeper snow. Literally getting stuck while still in my tracks despite having higher clearance.
      Haha yes, Hakkapeliittas are 3PMSF rated (though that rating doesn’t mean shit). They also have the ice grip symbol, which the KO3s do not. Nokian invented winter tires. Winter tires use a special rubber compound that stays pliable in extreme cold but shouldn’t be used above 45°F. All-season tires like the KO3s need to use a hard rubber compound to hold up to off-roading in hot weather, but as the temps drop the rubber stiffens and they lose grip.

      Air pressure!!!
      On my Tacoma with KO2 tires the back wheels sometimes slide side to side going up hill on snow pack roads.
      The problem was too much tire pressure, 35PSI.
      After reducing the pressure to 30 psi no more loose back tire problems.
