I’m 70, been playing since 11. I can barely stand up and play my Les Paul anymore, but still practice and play daily. Have always loved Neil Giraldo, and Pat Benatar as the best front singer ever. Her voice has aged superbly. ❤

My wife and I married in 76’. We had every album by Pat and Neal. This says a lot for longevity! Like them, we are still together and have our 69th anniversary in May. This concert brings back many memories for us.

No, power is gone, clarity is gone. I loved her in the 80s but she is a shell of her former self.
Her voice is remarkable, at her age. She sounds terrific. Her voice was beyond belief when she was young. Her voice, now, is still better than most. If you listened to the entire show you must not have thought it that bad.

I would like to think so too but she is definitely lip syncing on some of these songs. It was very obvious several times during promises in the dark. One point she forgot to put the mic back to her lips but could be heard perfectly.

I recently saw HEART performed live and they had four guitarists sharing rhythm & lead. Here is Neil Giraldo doing it all and the band sounds amazingly tight & absolutely full. Really impressive! And Pat Benatar's vocals, simply superb!

@@rockitflash I guess it is also possible they did overdubs in the studio after the fact before it was broadcast.
@@billb.7346 yep I thought about that,too. Giraldo’s guitar was really hot in the mix. They were playing really loud, you could see the drummer beating the hell out of those drums.it’s possible she was having trouble hearing her vocals. I play in a rock band with a female vocalist and I’m constantly fighting the drummer and other guitar player to lighten up so we can hear vocals.

That performance of Hell is for Children was one of the best performances I've ever seen them do of that song. Pats voice was insane and Neils guitar playing was Godly.
Wow! One of the few acts that dont look stupid doing their early numbers. Some subtle accomodations for Pats range just add to the impressive performance. Wonderful how conscious Pat and Neil are of each other on stage and how much they appreciate doing this together (...for over forty years !).

I'm 67 and played in a rock band until last year. I thought I was just getting too old. To see these two still at it, and Pat sounding as good as ever, well, what an inspiration. Neils guitar tone is better than ever also.

We live for love is one of the greatest songs. Neil and Pat are awesome highly professional. Over the years they built the bond that exist today. I watch their band at least once per week and let the passion go through my soul. Being a guitar player I can see Neil’s timing with Pats vocal are as one.

Wow, I'll never forget being 17 yrs old & buying the album "Tropico" I totally loved every track. I just loved Pat Benatars voice & Neil Giraldo's guitar style.

I saw Pat in concert in the summer of 2023. In all my years of seeing and playing in bands, she was the most incredible female singer I’ve ever seen. That includes all the divas. Pats intonation and vibrato is flawless. Her voice is so incredibly strong. Until you witness her power and presence in person you can’t appreciate the full effect of her vocal ability. She’s simply an amazing vocalist. Thanks for posting this. Unlike most vocalist, she’s not lost a step in all these years. If you’re an aspiring female vocalist, Pat sets the bar.

The Queen
Five decades in an industry that ate many of their peers alive and left others seriously diminished - sensational. Vince Neil and Dave Lee Roth would KILL to be able to recreate the vocals they had in their heyday, but hard living took it's toll. Guitarists seem to fare better even in the face of the usual demons, but it's rare to see anyone Neil's age play with so much energy. Even The Boss seems to have slowed down in his 70s, but he is one of very few artists who made it all the way from the early 70s to the current decade without gracing the scandal sheets. Pat married Neil in 82 and they have been together ever since - an exceptional partnership.
Someone that plays with the same energy as Neil is Neal Schon. It is rare, a blessing!
