I'm an old lady who had limited experience with rock and roll and don't remember bon Jovi years ago but have found him in the past few years. I really like some of his music and some of it I'll leave to the younger music lovers. BUT one thing I have come to appreciate is the fact that this man is such a tremendous human being. His work with Habitat,, his food concerns, his exemplary family life make me appreciate having him on the planet at this particularly trying time in history. Pray that he recovers so that he is able to continue the work he loves.
I’ve seen him 3 times and accepted he was in his 50’s and couldn’t hit those notes that he recorded almost 30+ years ago. He was still a BOSS on stage and gave the fans 110% and his attention. He read and signed their posters, interacted, knew he inspired and was there with them during good/bad times. He’s definitely a fans rock star. If you gotta hang it up Jon, your music lives on. Thanks for the songs and the memories.
Exactly , I've seen many of my Idols when they were older in the flesh and on YT , and it's only human not to be able to sing at an older age like you could in your twenties...it's just not possible. At least the true Rock greats still have the balls to perform live , many of todays stars wouldn't dream of it. Also I think when you go and see somebody who has given you so much pleasure and good memories through the years , as a fan I'm not just there to enjoy the gig , I'm there to show my support and say thanks for being the sound track to my life!
Nope, saw him on his last tour. He was awful. The fact that he cannot sing anymore (and knows this) but still charges what he does to see him - makes him a bad person.
I became a true Bon Jovi fan in 1986 at the age of 16. I drove a lot of back roads with friends and girlfriends, drinking beer, raising hell, learning about the birds and the bees to Bon Jovi music. I saw them several times live in late 80s and early 90s, and those guys always brought down the house. Forever grateful to Jon and Bon Jovi.
JOVIAN, just cried during this interview Jon… your strength, passion & honesty touched my heart; Glad you & Richie are in a good place now!! Enjoy Life, Heal, Pray & Take Care!! LOVE YOU + BON JOVI FOREVER🩷🙏🏼🩷
In his day bonjovi was infinitely larger than life and is a massive part of my teenage years, when i hear his music the amount of nostalgia and warm happy feelings that i feel are immeasurable.............i wish him happiness and a full recovery
I have so much respect for him for being honest about his situation and what he is going through and continuing to be honest about the future. Class act!
I don't know a band or an artist who has as many top hits as (Jon) Bon Jovi. Was listening youtube's made random playlist and it was hours and hours of songs like "Bed of Roses", "Blaze of Glory", "Runaway", "Keep the Faith", "Santa Fe", "It's my life", "Livin' on a Prayer", "Dry County", "Never say Goodbye", "Who says you...", "This ain't a Love Song", "Wanted Dead or Alive", "Make a Memory", "Midnight in Chelsea", "We Weren't Born to Follow"... Endless list of amazing songs that reached three generations. Bravo!
He used that voice so well over the years and allowed us the honour of enjoying his epic music. What a great human husband and father. Thank you for setting a grwar example to the human race. You are legend. Enjoy yr golden years the way you choose. Thanks for the music.
Yup, life is pointless and tiring without the Lord. Especially hard for those who "made it" because they think it will deliver the ultimate satisfaction but it doesn't. Jesus said, “Come to Me , all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30) From one Jersey boy to another (only a couple of towns over) I'm praying for you to meet Him and know ...

What a career this man has had, personally from what I see in the interview is the man looks exhausted, speaks the truth about everything and we all know what he’s done for the homeless and people who really don’t have much so I’d be exhausted as well or wouldn’t have been able to pull off what he’s done throughout his awesome career
My daughter and I so enjoyed the concert in Seattle during the Slippery When Wet tour - and love the fact that he, his wife and Co. continue to have such important impacts on life and society.
I was at that show and I enjoyed seeing Cinderella and Tom Keifer singing Nobody’s Fool ! It’s sad how much the Climate Pledge has changed, the seating was better before.
The greatest vocalist in my BonJovi loving heart!! We fans know you could never fake it because there's only one you, Jon. Thanks for the many wonderful memories I have had the pleasure to experience!! Looking forward to whatever you want to give and what the Lord wants you to have!😊
To be honest, I was never a big Bon Jovi fan. But I always thought he seemed like a decent human being. I appreciate him finally opening up about his vocal problems and as a fellow singer myself, I have to say...I'm rooting for him and his vocal recovery.
Im 51 years old. In 9 th grade, I was in a class at school.... you know the one, I forget what class it was but we had a project. Screen painting T-SHIRT. Me and my friend made our own custom SLIPPERY WHEN WET tshirts! 😀. Thank you Bon Jovi for the best times back in the late 80's. Still to this day when I hear you on the radio it takes me back. Love to you and your family. You have never let us down!! Can't wait to see where your kids go! Great job Mom and Dad.
Its a problem when theres a band & 1 guy does everything. Even a bigger problem when theres a band & 2 guys are very talented & are doing everything. It's destined to fall apart. Either the relationship or the band.

Bon Jovi was my first concert I ever experienced. New Jersey tour. Skid Row opening. San Antonio, Texas - Hemisphere arena. Scalpers everywhere. Still one of the best concerts I've ever seen and I've seen everybody. Love Jon Bon Jovi. Love Richie Sambora. Wish they could've patched things up because those two are even more "legendary" together than apart. Praying Jon has a full recovery. Grateful for the music and memories... FOREVER. - Manny
Mr. Jon Bon Jovi, you are awesome. You have been there in my life in ways that only music can strum the soul. And make you whole. You are going to be ok. Everything is always working out for us. Maybe the next page bring you more joy, more blessings, and more surprises. From my heart to yours! Namaste! (Julia in Tarpon Springs Fl.)
It's not the same Bon Jovi that I like in 80s and 90s and I don't listen to any of their music for the last 15-20 years but the man is definitely a living LEGEND and nothing will ever change that ..
What a great guy, God bless him and I wish nothing but the very best for them all. Such a great time and of the best years of rock and roll and we all was a part of it.
"As I dream about movies they won't make of me when I'm dead". Well, Jon, you made your own and the world is watching. I love how he says "it's what I do, not who I am". Years ago he said it exactly like that in his Oprah interview and he still says it. Shows consistency and commitment. Mad respect for this man! As far as his voice is concerned, he's no different from any other professional. Doctors retire if they can no longer hold a scalpel, sports men and women retire because their bodies can no longer keep up. Is anyone really surprised that after 40+ years of singing his heart out, that his instrument is no longer what it was. He literally gave his voice to those million faces, and yes Jon, you rocked them all!
maybe better not, bcs I'm not sure if he is even able to play like he used to do and not talking about composing or where is all the good musik he wantet to do solo the last 11 Years? But at the end we must be thankfull if all are still alive and the show is going on....
@@atelierXL99I’m sure Richie is capable of it he’ll just need some practice with the band Richie can still play and sing so that’s not the issue is lies more on hopefully he can get his act together and not be drinking so much and be that way long enough to maybe do a final tour with Jon and the band
Watch the „Shred With Shifty“-Episode with RS and you know that it would be better, if Richie does not come back. It was heartbreaking to see, in what condition he is in.
Aging, having a family has definitely wised him up in a lot of ways when he talks about his family. Awesome how he talks about God too ❤ he’s definitely asked gracefully and is still amazing in my eyes 😂 I still love their music!!! 🎶 ❤🙏🏼
It’s tough getting old. I’ll never forget seeing BonJovi in the early 90s. Jon was the most beautiful. Like Elvis Presley, Sebastian Bach beautiful. A very special kind of beautiful. I discovered them in the 80s. Such a wonderful discovery and time.
It's not tough getting old it's a natural thing that happens to everyone thing is a lot of people today think they can defy it with botox and cosmetics grow old gracefully like jon has and its true when he said you've earned these wrinkles embrace what you have got it's a long life worrying about what you don't have
How many years is it now??? Thank you for the love songs, the memories, thank you for all of it. I know you love it, that's obvious but no one but yourself knows what you can and can't do. Only God knows. Bon Jovi fan now 64 years young, still rockin'!!! God bless you!!!
Ok. I have been listening to this band forever. The music help me through a horrible time in my life. I watched documentary and when richie said that he felt like he was being replaced. He did not say anything to anyone. He just left like a child. He was a child about this. That made heart hurt for Jon and the rest of the guys in the band. Also I knew before anyone else that Jon was having health issues. And that broke my heart. I hope he gets feeling better very soon.
Honestly, I've never been a big fan of the music, but the guy is up there gray hair and all doing his thing. Nice to see a musician not dying his hair, getting plastic surgery, trying to hang with 20 year old women, etc. He gets thumbs up for that.
@@dellajohnston3601I'm sure if you had the money, you'd do something on yourself too. Shame that you're too shallow to judge him by how he looks, instead of how much good he does. I'm sure you're not a philanthropist like he is!!
John never needs to explain anything. He’s paid his dos and never disappoints anyone. At 54 I seen just about every big 80’s band out there and i can say Bon Jovi was and is high above the rest and in a class of their own. God bless and prayers.
I'm jealous. I was almost lucky enough to see them on that tour. My best friend and I thought we had won the lottery when we scored tickets to their concert -- convinced it was going to be one of the best times in our entire lives. Unfortunately, our car broke down on the way to St. Louis (from Springfield, IL) and we missed it. Sadder still, we never got another opportunity to see them -- life just kinda got in the way -- but we've been "rocking out" to them all these years.
Take a break, Jon. We will always love you, no matter what. I saw you live in South Africa in 2013 and the memories of that concert helped carry me through chemo again recently. Your health and family are more important. WE LOVE YOU!!!! ♥️
You’re awesome Jon! Life has been good to you and you’ve been good to humanity!! Thank you for all the excellent music and also for your philanthropic endeavors. My celebrity crush since the 80’s!!!!!!

I have always been a huge Bon Jovi fan (of course). In your 20's you love his look, his voice, his songs etc. As I get older, hearing his humbleness, and that he's leaving it up to God.....as well as knowing of his philanthropy, and being a true family man that is married to first and only wife......I have absolutely more solid reasons to still be a huge Bon Jovi fan. From day one til the day I die. Bon Jovi Forever.
I have been a fan since the beginning. Have gone to many concerts, too many to count. Also went to many smaller venues in closer to his roots in jersey in the very beginning and thru out the years for different fund raisers for local charities. Joined the Soul Kitchen as a volunteer there for many years, till we moved out of state. Many times he himself came in and washed dishes in the kitchen. Always talking to the volunteers and the staff. Great dishwasher too! His wife, Dorothea also comes in to help, and gets to know the volunteers...both very down to earth, kind, genuine people. If you didnt know who they were, you would never know their celebrity status. His father came in as well, many times, and boy can he cook delicious food! 😋 It takes a lot of hands to make it run as smooth as it does. Many great memories there. What's on the menu, is always delicious. If you are ever in Red Bank New Jersey or Toms River New Jersey, consider stopping there, you won't be disappointed. 🥰👍
Great interview! Jon said something interesting in the documentary: "One thing you can't be in this world is a quitter". I wonder if Jon was speaking about himself or about Richie as well. It seems that Jon was hurt not so much by Richie leaving the band but by Richie leaving so abruptly in the middle of a tour without any notice.
I started listening to Bon Jovi when I was 5 years old! I went to my first Bon Jovi Concert in 1989! And I am 47 years old today! Jon Bon Jovi is a LEGEND and I am SO PROUD to have him alive today in my old age! Lol!!! God Bless Jon Bon Jovi!!! He is a GREAT man with awesome talent! I even got my grandma hooked on him. Lol!!! I will forever LOVE him and his music!!
Bon Jovi is such a class act. Praying his voice will return completely, & his health will be great going forward. I especially love his devotion to his wife all these years, & I loved when he said, "Okay Lord, what've we got?" To hear that he relies on the Lord is heartening, as is his & his wife's charity. Just good people.

Perhaps, going for 'exemplary ' Where, on earth, does the run-of-the-mill imbecile get this crap?
@@AGoat1971 I got lucky then. This was 10+ years now when Phil X took over.
@@AGoat1971 You're not forced to pay money to go and see anyone. Also if that's how you judge a persons morality you may need a little reality check.
Bravo!
He left it all on the stage every single time, and it was amazing letting us in like that.
He used that voice so well over the years and allowed us the honour of enjoying his epic music. What a great human husband and father. Thank you for setting a grwar example to the human race. You are legend. Enjoy yr golden years the way you choose. Thanks for the music.
Jon looks tired, also looks like he struggles with something internally , like all of us. you can tell he's a perfectionist
No he looks 62 and pretty good too
In psychology perfectionism is the highest form of self abuse, but whether musicians or athletes, that psychosis is what makes them great (I wish these dudes would stop with the Botox)

Last saw the band in 2019 at Wembley and he did Always, possibly for the last time and hit THE note. Fair play to him. Seems a humble guy and one of the good ones.
The man is just like his music, no BS, no cheating just good solid songs played incredibly well. Good luck to him and all his future endeavors.

I saw the very last show of that tour in Honolulu
I was at that show and I enjoyed seeing Cinderella and Tom Keifer singing Nobody’s Fool ! It’s sad how much the Climate Pledge has changed, the seating was better before.
Good example toall rockers. Now a days c bon jovi ...you are so kindhearted....and loving poorest people....❤❤❤❤❤❤

Love to you and your family. You have never let us down!! Can't wait to see where your kids go! Great job Mom and Dad.
Am 75. Have really liked Bon Jovi the last 15 years. Miss though the blend of his voice with Richie Sambora. 💃.
Its a problem when theres a band & 1 guy does everything. Even a bigger problem when theres a band & 2 guys are very talented & are doing everything.

Legendary rock vocalist he was one of my heros when i learned how to sing/play in the 80's
It's not the same Bon Jovi that I like in 80s and 90s and I don't listen to any of their music for the last 15-20 years but the man is definitely a living LEGEND and nothing will ever change that ..
ARE YOU THE SAME AS YOU WERE IN 80S OR 90S
@@robertaiervasi yes I am.. I still do listen to the same kind of music more or less..

When Bon Jovi makes the "final" album, I really hope Richie comes back for that album.
maybe better not, bcs I'm not sure if he is even able to play like he used to do and not talking about composing or where is all the good musik he wantet to do solo the last 11 Years? But at the end we must be thankfull if all are still alive and the show is going on....
@@atelierXL99I’m sure Richie is capable of it he’ll just need some practice with the band Richie can still play and sing so that’s not the issue is lies more on hopefully he can get his act together and not be drinking so much and be that way long enough to maybe do a final tour with Jon and the band

"They won't listen and i wouldn't have listened either. Just be there to support them." Great parenting advice for those with young adults
