as always, I've learned something, even after using SU for at least 10 yrs. Thanks, again!

I've just reinstalled my SketchUp Pro after years of not using it and I remember some of these... But there's a ton of very useful tools I wish I knew back then. THANK YOU! 💯

As usual, Justin Time. It's very helpful to see the segments of the lecture separated on the red bar on the bottom of the screen.

I'm considering moving from AutoCAD to a position that uses SketchUp and have binge-watched dozens of your videos today. It appears that newer versions have added the flipping tool? I was baffled to see you using scale to mirror objects in older videos! AutoCAD has the same "hybrid" window selection ability. Overall, I'm seeing lots of similarities and lots of differences. Odd that in SU you copy with the move tool.. Why not just have a copy tool like every other program?? I appreciate your information, and if I get this position I may buy your course!

One of the best Schemas i leaned was from the web goes like this:
do all geometry always on the untagged (layer0) tag/layer. When done with that object always always make it a group or component and move it from untagged to an appropriate tag/layer for that object. Rinse and repeat till done with model. This will always keep it organized and will make it easy to modify and you wont have sticky geometry issues and easy to have things on or off in different scenes. It means more work upfront but massive savings down the line editing for managing it and will keep the model clean of extra lines etc on the untagged layer. Somebody even made a plugin to warn you if you were modeling off of something different than the untagged layer to go along with this idea.
Also separately from Justins list here: learn plugins. They are your friend and will provide massive time saving for anything more than basic modeling.
Also, learn your keyboard shortcuts for everything. Make a shortcut if one doesnt currently exist.

Learned something new at the end there with the divide feature (on the Move tool, after copying). I knew about the multiply version of this which I use a lot for Joists etc. but this will help with creating equal spaces in the future. Thanks Justin for making these videos, I am seriously considering taking your full course this winter!

I have watched many of your videos and I'm creating all my SketchUp interior designs thanks to you❤ I have been looking on TH-cam for recent Free interior lightening extensions and tips on how to do that quickly and couldn't find any. Not from you or anyone else. I hope to see something about this soon.

twinmotion. No longer free without a watermark but you can crop it out if important. Non free alts would be enscape and D5. I prefer enscape for its ease of use but i will go heavy into one of the others listed after my yearly subscription runs out. I believe SKP itself just added some basic render as well but i havent tried or researched it.

A good video, as usual. Regarding click-drag-release vs click and release: I do most operations as you suggest, but I make exceptions for the LINE tool. I'm using Pro 2023. Click style is AUTO DETECT and Continue line drawing. Using click-release-click, the only way I can complete a line is to cancel the tool. But if I click-drag-release I can create multiple disconnected lines with no problem, So what i do when drawing a complicated line is click-release each line segment except the last one. For that I click-drag. When I release at my last point the line breaks and I start again somewhere else.

Before using FOV, it is better to use first Zoom Back from Eneroth when creating your scenes.

Do you know how to make realistic curved glass for a window? Mine keeps showing lines when I render even though i've hidden them?
