I don't even have natural hair (well, I guess I technically do bc I've never dyed or chemically altered my hair, but it's like 2a), but these videos are really interesting! I figure if non-black hair types are so prominently talked about in media, I should probably know how healthy black hair works too. Plus these videos are just so fun!

Hi, I recently got natural, I'm newby on this thing , I started watching your videos and I really love them. I just started to know about the porosity of hair and texture. I will really appreciate an answer, watching your videos I really is not good idea to overload your hair in different products as once, normally I everything add Cantu moisture to my hair because when I wake up in the morning my hair is very dry , what can you recommend me to so? I love reading a lot of new things and make research for my own but there is a lot of information, I will really thank you
Hey there! Have you found Your porosity? If so, I’d say try products that work best for your hair. Low porosity=products/techniques to open cuticles; high porosity= products to close cuticles. If I’m understanding correctly, you’re saying you add Cantu products to your hair, but it’s dry in the morning? If so, your hair may not be absorbing the product correctly or at all. You’ll want to focus on getting the bulk of your moisture absorption on wash day. Your cuticles are opened because of the heat. Be sure to deep condition at least once a week after you wash and lightly spray your hair with water each night as needed. As far as products, I don’t like to recommend specific ones because I don’t know your porosity and different products work for different people. However, the only product I’m fully confident in is Melanin Hair cares twist elongating style cream. It’s amazing and appears that it truly works for all hair types. You can order from their website: melaninhaircare.com Hope this helps!
I just recently discovered your videos and you are a very entertaining young lady! I am learning a lot from you. I, too, have low porosity but over the years I’ve found that Shea Moisture products just don’t do me any justice. Do you still use the Deep Treatment Masque? If not, can you share your next favorite deep conditioner? Can you share the link to the shea butter product you actually use as well as shampoo & condish? Thanks in advance!
Yoshi sound effect too?? Thanks for all the tips homie! Hard to find engaging hair care content for men that apply to my hair type. Much love from Hawaii!
I’ve had my hair natural now for about four or five years but have always kept it cut short. I recently decided to grow it out. My problem is that my hair is naturally thin and my edges are even thinner and I am SUPER annoyed by that. I did the porosity test and my hair is low porosity. I currently use Cantu products and As I Am coiling gel. What advice can you lend in this regrowing process I face? Thanks in advance.
What should I do when my front hair is really long than my back hair. From my middle to the back hair it looks like it an afro and it really short while my front hair is so long should I cut it?
I have a question. So if we have in a protective style like box braids oiling it will make it dry ? Since oil is a sealant? And when you say keep hands out of hair does that include massage the scalp as well? Cause I thought it was great to stimulate the scalp and help grow hair.
I’d use a moisturizing oil such as olive oil when having box braids, water is always better, but moisturizing oils are perfect for when you’d like to maintain the neatness of a style. Keeping your hands out of your hair does not include scalp massages. Those are wonderful for promoting growth.
