  • Busy as always at Gigafactory Texas. The framing ends have been connected on the south end extention. Light pole bases are being prepped and concrete poured. Megapack control box is worked on. Vehicel production is at a growing pace for the cybertrucks.

Busy day. Loads happening around the site.
0:23. Southend, south. Top of the retaining wall and 18” 0.45m down the face is being painted. Clue there to the finished ground level around the exterior.
0:32. Southend. Lighting shows up the temporary cable bracing of the steel frame. No braced column bays have been constructed yet.
2:19. Southend. Formwork and rebar for a column footing placed on the extended CFA piles. Busting up the group of piles below.
3:52. Parking Garage. Top left. Saw-cutting the fresh concrete.
3:56. BIW. Left of the East Main Entrance. Red visible through the windows. Machinery presumably. Other than in Joe’s video yesterday, haven’t noticed this before. Something new perhaps.
3:56. Pond. Blue hose run into one of the overflow culvert pipes.
4:36. BIW. Under roof plant room. Scaffold decking now infills the entire space. Covered on the south with plastic sheet, including the Evapco towers. Guardrail to the right also sheeted. Temporary weather protection?
4:47. River Road. Giga Water Loop project. The linesman in the truck holding up the power pole can finally get a day off.
4:55. River. Outfall structure. Vacuuming up silt.
5:20. Westside. Property boundary. The mystery white pipe/conduit starts here. Or ends here.
5:59. New EOL. The mystery white pipe/conduit. Lot of utilities enter the building at this point.
6:54. New EOL Superchargers. Paving. Screw piles for the awning structure located in the narrower rows between the Superchargers.
7:42. Westside. Tunnel Project. Removing the lifting lugs from the south side of the TBM front shield.
7:54. Westside. Tunnel Project. Top left. Additional rolls of the spoil conveyor.
9:03. Westside. Old contractors yard. 6 clearly identifiable Level 2 perimeter beams that have the large glazing channel bracket blocks attached. At least another 6 bays of fully glazed wall for the Southend. Counting these because that fully glazed wall needs to transition to meet the existing structure at some point. Possibly beginning at 1:48 where the retaining wall ends.
9:28. Westside, storage. Top left. Furnace flue components.
10:34. New EOL transport yard. Suction excavation works. High pressure water hose loosens the earth, spoil sucked out by the vacuum hose.
11:34. BESS switchyard. Top. Control building. Generator has been removed. That’s an almost certain indication the BESS switchyard is live.
13:06. Far north storage. Less stuff here. Not been obvious if it is going into the building.
Big dumper bins suggests it isn’t.
13:58. Cathode east. Pond. Shifting earth around on the top of the pond walls.
14:05. Cathode east, apron. Bottom. Frame assembled. 2 more being assembled further south.
14:19. Cathode roof. Installing a small flue.
14:33. Die Shop/Cathode alley. Asphalt paving works to Tesla Road. No curb. Temporary-ish.
14:47. Die Shop. Left. Road. Cover removed from the utilities/service duct.
Cathode, plant platform. Lagging/insulation and cladding works on the pipework.
Road. Rebar placed for last section of paving in the alley. Almost last, see 14:37.
14:49. Cathode west. Left. Tanker. An industrial gas delivery.
15:14. Cathode west. Loading platform reinstated.
15:50. Plastics, roof. PV array. Electrical controls cabinet. Cover removed.
16:55. Northend. Road embankment/berm. Erosion control/planting expanded geo-grid placed. Similar used at the Main Entrance banked garden beds.
17:06. Casting east. Apron extension. Paving machine spanning the full width of the extension. Some rebar placed.
17:27. Casting east. Cables draped out of the vaults on the left and right.
BIW, apron. Centre. Bin of casting trimmings being flipped over into the trailer.

4:36 Maybe they are painting those beams. Not sure if they did that for the other opening.
13:06 Maybe that is where the red "machinery" near East Main Entrance is from. Looks like they are cleaning up the emptied crates.

When tunnel to loading yard is complete , Tesla should be able to have cars coming out of the factory self drive to loading yard . It is a route they will repeat thousands of times a month and when the small car is on line, thousands of times a week. A pretty simple program to implement I would think.

With all that berm widening along the northeast side of the gigafactory they might as well completely level the elevated section of roadway running along there. There are plenty of areas onsite it could be used for fill.

Nice to see pavement at the new Superchargers. Tesla is probably pushing to get those operational as quickly as possible; I wouldn't be surprised if they start using these next week, assuming the electrical connections are in place. On that last point, they still seem to have power coming in from the above-ground lines instead of from the connection under the highway, so I don't know if they have enough capacity yet. I have no idea if that's in the critical path.

Those lines will never be removed. They are on what is called an easement in the US. Simply put, it’s a parcel of land set aside for the public good to hold things like power lines, water lines, oil and natural gas pipelines as such. That one contains two sets of high voltage transmission lines, a natural gas pipeline and a refined petroleum products pipeline. They existed before Tesla bought the property and are not going anywhere. But in reality, these were actually a feature. It was cheap for the LCRA to set up the large substation for Tesla which will save them money on energy for the life of the project. The same for the natural gas it uses to not only heat the plant in winter but to melt the aluminum for casting. They didn’t have to pay for it to be brought to their facility. It was right there. So again, a feature, not a fault.

Notice that alleyway betwix the 2 buildings where all those tall tanks are standing.
See the 4 cooling units sitting atop than structure? Notice the open space next
to the cooling units. It looks to me like there is room for 4 more cooling units. I
dont know if they have a need for 4 more now OR this is just a provision for future expansion.
