    This is so good. I usually drink Organic tea through out the day in the office with a sliver of ginger, organic lemon juice and raw unfiltered honey. Its so good and keeps me energized through out the day with out any crash.

    I'm going to make this tomorrow - sound delicious. One question: Why do you peel the cuke and apple? I peel ginger and turmeric when I use it, but not the cuke and apple.

    • @HealthyGroceryGirl
      @HealthyGroceryGirl  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The cucumber peel can have a bitter taste - so if you're new to juicing this may overpower the juice flavor. If you're a green drink regular - you may totally be cool with it :) Peeling the veggies / fruit helps create a smoother juice texture. But you could totally leave them on if you prefer! There is SO much great nutrition in the peel. It's just a personal preference how you like it :)

  • @tlizw87
    @tlizw87 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Have you ever made it the night before for the morning? Does it still taste ok if refrigerated and shaken? My morning/afternoon is so busy.

      tlizw87 I have and it's been fine.

    Can I make this in advance? Or does it go bad after a day or so?

  • @TRSjulie
    @TRSjulie 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why would you want to peel the apple and cucumber? Don't the skins carry most of the nutrients? I'm definitely looking forward to trying this!

    • @HealthyGroceryGirl
      @HealthyGroceryGirl  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is optional to peel. Leaving the skin on sometimes results in a more bitter flavored drink & for new green drinkers this can be off-putting. However, if you enjoy the taste of this drink with the skin on then that's great & yes it will be more nutritious :)

    I'll give it a try! My smoothie are mostly fruits but they are too sweet. I want to experiment with greener smoothies. Is that a baby cucumber or a regular one?

    • @HealthyGroceryGirl
      @HealthyGroceryGirl  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It was a small, regular cucumber :) I love adding spinach to my green drinks because they tend to have a really mild taste! :)

    Could you suggest a good cost effective blender? I really want a good one but can't afford the $500 ones that you use. Any suggestions?

    @healthygrocerygirl I had one question. I’ve heard that when you are pregnant juices can be dangerous because it’s “unpasteurized”. Do you still drink juices?

  • @tamarawilson8001

    another great video - thanks! wondering about the apple... peeled or no? does it blend well? just asking because the text said peeled but it looked like it had skin on in the blender :) thanks again!

    • @HealthyGroceryGirl
      @HealthyGroceryGirl  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you!! You can go either way! I have included an apple in this recipe both ways... The drink will have more fiber / more texture if you leave the skin on. Plus there are a lot of nutrients in the skin! However, sometimes I am busy or lazy & don't want to peel the apple skin so I just leave it on :) Both ways are good!

    Can I substitute organic ground ginger or does it need to be whole ?

    • @HealthyGroceryGirl
      @HealthyGroceryGirl  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally think fresh ginger tastes best with this recipe - but you could totally use ground if that is what you have. I would recommend using just a pinch of ground ginger!

    I've always been a juicer. I make a green juice with a slow juicer every morning. I keep trying to drink green smoothies but I always get so bloated that I'm miserable.

    • @HealthyGroceryGirl
      @HealthyGroceryGirl  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's awesome you already make daily green juices!! Green smoothies like this can have so much fiber, so that could be the reason for any digestive discomfort!
