    Did you use the expression automation or is it the direct rendering?

    • @gianfrancocalvi1605
      @gianfrancocalvi1605  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I just did a couple of correction interventions (on cymbals and clarinets). I would say it's 95% direct rendering

      Gianfranco Calvi I have the Berlin Strings. They sound amazing! What do you think about the Berlin WW and Berlin Brass? Are they a huge improvement compared to the Staffpad default sounds?

      @@ChristopheTornieri Hi Christophe, I think they are big improvement compared to the stock sounds, but in the end it's a matter of personal taste and what level of realism you're looking for. For example I better like Spitfire Woodwinds over Berlin woodwinds as they seems to me more balanced and alive, but on the other hand with Berlin WW you have all separated woodwinds so you can score in a more detailed way. As for the brass, I think Berlin Brass are very well defined and balanced and having all the single instruments let you write chorale in very detailed way... but on the other hand they are not so strong in the fff range as CineBrass for more bombastic epic scores. I would add that all these premium libraries have some small inconsistencies and dynamic pitfalls that are common even to the same full libraries in Kontakt, so sometimes small corrections through expression automation are needed to get better results. All in all I think that having the opportunity to play with these premium samples in a notation based compositional tool on an iPad is a very big achievement.

    How did record the staff pad video to TH-cam?

    • @gianfrancocalvi1605
      @gianfrancocalvi1605  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, using the ipad stock video recorder (swipe down from the right high corner and you get a red button)

    Great work. What is your PC configuration for processor and Ram?

    • @gianfrancocalvi1605
      @gianfrancocalvi1605  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks Archibald. No PC, it's an iPad Pro 11 2018 with Staffpad and Berlin LIbraries (Staffpad Edition)

    Great job! How much disk space does it take to have all the Berlin suite? Is the cpu handling it well?

    • @Gabinferra
      @Gabinferra 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      And how much does it cost?

    • @gianfrancocalvi1605
      @gianfrancocalvi1605  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Gabin, I'm not sure about the disk space because I also have other libraries but I would say 10-12 Gb for Berlin Strings, Brass, Woods, Perc, Harp, Piano & 1st chair. This tune has been handled with no problemas at all by an iPad Pro 11 2018 and by an iPad Pro 9.7 2016. With iPad Pro 11 I've got no problem with any tune you can find on my channel; with iPad Pro 9.7 I've occasionally got some problems only in extremely complex score where the full orchestra is playing lot of notes.

      Strings, Woods, Perc and Brass are around 100$ each , harp & piano around 75$. 1st chair I can't remember exactly.

      @@gianfrancocalvi1605 Do you mean OrchestralTools Berlin Strings etc. ? Each of them costs just around 100$?! I think you are wrong...

    • @gianfrancocalvi1605
      @gianfrancocalvi1605  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Michael M Hi Michael, I mean the Staffpad Edition of Berlin Strings etc.s Staffpad has an internal store where you can buy these porting of OrchestralTools, Spitfire and Cinesamples collections which are only working inside Staffpad. Be aware that you can’t play them live; they only respond to notation in Staffad. This is the reason why they cost 70 to 110 US$ per orchestral choir. It’s a completely different offering when compared to the Kontakt or vst version of the same samples.
