Song of Healing but it's a little much... The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Piano Cover

- I really poured my soul into this one! Koji Kondo's musical genius shows in this simple tune. It really does have some incredibly deep level of comfort in healing to it, and I can't quite pick out where it comes from. It fits Majora's Mask so well; even in an apocalyptic setting that tune makes you like everything will be alright, despite everything bad happening. I hope this cover may bring peace to you all despite whatever demons or challenges you are facing right now. Know that it will be all right, just hang in there.
I stole a lot of harmonic elements from A Link to the Past, especially when I start changing up the chord progression. Die hards, see if you can pick it out:) I also may have a lot of Kyle Landryisms in my arrangement. I tried not to listen to his arrangement while writing this, but I've heard it for over a decade plus so I'm not sure how much has leaked in and influenced my cover.

It feels like the gentle healing aproach wasn't working, so you just start progressivly healing them HARDER.
Thank you for your beautiful cover. I lost my son almost a year ago and your cover brought a floodgate of memories and feelings. I think you were able to encapsulate the central motif of Majora's Mask of tackling grief. I could feel the stages of transformation. The melody is the same, but the key and how it is played varies with each stage. This parallels grief. The loss is the same, you change, and you transform how that melody plays on in your life. Thank you for taking me on that journey.

Majora's Mask was a solid sexual to Ocarina of Time. I'm still torn on which is the best.

It's the inverted Saria's Song. Kondo's idea was to revert the 3 note melody backward. Which goes on so nicely with Termina being a parallel world to Hyrule. It is the world of Hyrule's version of Agartha or the Hollow Earth, except in a dream, or perhaps a daydream?
This is why you don't play with time. You rupture the space time continuum and fall into parallel universes 😂
Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask were decades ahead of current Zelda in their premise. 😊

...When i started listening, i teared up. I lost my best friend of 4 years last month... He was as big of a Zelda fan as I am, and he was honestly the one person that I could truly call a brother. Someone that made my life full of joy, that kept me entertained, that made me ignore the negativity. He taught me so much, in gaming, in relationships, in life in general. And... It is because of him, I am in (so far) a 3 month relationship... I'll miss him, but. The memories with him, I'll always treasure.

Majoras mask is a really good game but im always in a fight to decide between zelda twilight princess, ocarina of time or majoras mask.

There is a feeling I have been feeling for so long that I can't shake off. I guess it is the fear of change.
As we grow and as the years go by, things change constantly. Sometimes I wish things stay the same, but I am stupid for wishing for that. Nothing can stop change. Not even a song.
But some songs make me believe for jist a moment, that things will stay the same. That memory won't just burn away and scatter with the wind. This song is one of those. It fills me with hope, and cleanses any worries.
Still, change is forever. But the memories we make will always stay with us.

To be honest, this was the first song I learned on my piano. of course this is "a little much" but as soon as I learned to play the piano this was the first song I learned. now i want to learn this version of the song. at least, as much of it as I can

This wasn’t too much in excessive. It’s like you completed and added an original idea inspired from the original track. I hear so many influences but words of my opinion and how this song makes me feel does not do your cover justice whatsoever.

You realize that nothing will be the same. Looking back on your childhood and reliving those memories feels like a different life that you remember vividly but cannot grasp. Memories that will soon fade but you hold on to so tightly, fearing the day they do disapear. You hold onto them so tightly you forget to enjoy them while you still have them, and only think of how you will never be able to relive them. Everything was colorful. Everything was beautiful. It all slipped away before you even realized it. You didn't notice the good times leaving until they were gone, and now you cannot bring them back..
Those will forever be the most cherished memories. However the best way to do deal with that is to make new ones 🙂
Amazing work and great playing. One of the best arrangements of this theme I've ever heard. I'm curious if you have any sheets for this. I'd love to take a deeper look at it/Play it myself.

Okay, this is just beautiful. Normally I like covers but have an innate bias to the original, but this is special. It sounds like a continuation of the original. The original Song of Healing sounds both soothing and painful, as the process of healing is good, but isn't easy. It sounds like the beginning stages of healing, where the grief is still strong in your mind and youre just beginning to shed your sorrow. But this version sounds like the final stage of healing. The harmonies are beautiful with less signs of darkness. When you finally reach acceptance, as you leave your struggles in the past and feel happiness again. I lost a friend recently and this reminds me of that process. If the original Song of Healing continued on throughout the process of moving on, I think it would become this.
I very much intended to change the harmonies to reflect the change of healing. I appreciate your attention to detail. I’m glad you have found healing in your life. Thanks for sharing.

The happy mask salesman taught us how to play this song all those years ago. Now its time to return to him and show him how its done. He has that massive organ but barely uses any keys, you should pay him a visit and show him how to truely play this song.

How long have you been playing? I bought an old used yamaha keyboard 6 or so years ago with the intent of learning. I fiddled with it maybe twice. Since then its been sitting in the basement.....until today. Reflecting on my own healing, your cover took me through a rollercoaster of emotions, facilitated hard learned truths, and has left me with another little piece i can add to everything that helps me appreciate life.
