This doesn’t seem to be as powerful as the real spetnaz version, I thought the real version needed a special tool to load it because the spring was so powerful.

Really cool simple and polished design. What I would do to improve on it is drill some holes like one guy said in the cylinder to increase the velocity as the spring is ejected, then I would put an aluminum cap over the end of the spring that hits the knife, and this is probably overkill but I would calibrate a little laser in to the assembly. Really cool though, I like the pin safety.

Тут ты прав, с 5 метров я воткну нож 350 гр. массы в торец соснового бруса на 60 мм. В мясо это примерно 100 мм. Практически, насмерть! Эти пружинки - полная хрень, только почитать Суворова "Аквариум". Да и там он лох!Не знал, где у АКМ одиночный, а где автоматический огонь! Спец хренов!

Es un sistema muy ingenioso pero imagino que si se cambia la espiga hueca trasera del cuchillo por una espija masisa mucho mas fina que vaya por dentro del resorte, tendra menos masa , por tanto aumentara el balance del cuchillo y por ende el peso, logrando un mejor rendimiento en alcance y altura.

The knife isn't meant to be used at a distance. If you are in a fight with someone else, and you have this knife, you're supposed to shoot it at the if they have your blade hand. So they have your hand, and instead of muscling it into your target, you can just shoot the blade right into them.

Just because the spring system and design are simple, does not mean the process to manufacture the parts, time, design process were easy.
Not everyone is a mechanical engineer, machinist, metal worker, metallurgist, or knife maker, and all of those are skills required to make this, most of the skills may be farmed off, like buying metal machined parts to remachine or work your self - just one of those skill sets tends to be extremely refined and difficult, taking years of experience.
Please, inform us on how it was not really a project that took effort and skill.
If it takes no effort, or skill, tell us all about how you make ballistic knives in ten minutes, in your pajamas, first try, every time - without ever having made a knife before, let alone a knife with simple mechanics like a ballistic or folding/closing knife.

Pretty cool but I'd suggest a stronger tempered spring, it's just too bouyant and wobbly, a stronger tempered spring would make it shoot straighter (probably farther too)

In practically, why'd you wanna lose a weapon? I mean once you fire this it's difficult to reload and has no function after being protected..
I assume that you would use it as a normal knife, but you will be able to launch the blade as a last resort.

It was built to be used as a CQB weapon not a ranged knife. Really only meant to be used no more than a few feet from an attacker.

It can be kind of a "surprise" factor. Someone pulls a gun on you while you have this knife, they laugh because you appear to be doomed, then you shoot the blade into their throat.
