You could torch the blade's spine red hot till a magnet won't stick then air cool and it will be softer to soak-up the shock.
Also the same treatment works to soften a small area of hardened steel so you can drill it if it is too hard for your bits. I've got stuff that shrugs carbide unless you take some temper out.
Diferential hardening for shock is the same reason why an ax is soft except for an edge that's a different metal slotted in. That and durability from a hardened edge.

      @@gunners4129
      Metal Tempering
Tempering is done to develop the required combination of hardness, strength and toughness or to relieve the brittleness of fully hardened steels. Steels are never used in the as quenched condition. The combination of quenching and tempering is important to make tough parts.
This treatment follows a quenching or air cooling operation. Tempering is generally considered effective in relieving stresses induced by quenching in addition to lowering hardness to within a specified range, or meeting certain mechanical property requirements.
Tempering is the process of reheating the steel at a relatively low temperature leading to precipitation and spheroidization of the carbides present in the microstructure. The tempering temperature and times are generally controlled to produce the final properties required of the steel. The result is a component with the appropriate combination of hardness, strength and toughness for the intended application. Tempering is also effective in relieving the stresses induced by quenching.

What you called the center support on the door is actually what is called an intrusion beam. These beams are made of at least high strength steel, and I think some cars use ultra high strength steel. The intrusion beam is the main structural strength for doors to protect passengers from severe side impacts. That was impressive to see the knives actually cut through it. I thought for sure the knife was just going to shatter when it hit the intrusion beam but it sliced through it like butter.

If you want the uncensored part of 0:47, I gotchu. But do look at the censored one, it's pretty funny. Otherwise this is just a Reddit copypasta of a meatball recipe
*Step 2 - if you survive the explosion,*
Get a LARGE mixing bowl and add in your Ground Beef and Ground Pork (if you're adding Italian Sausages instead of Ground Pork, you can give them a little chop-chop in a food processor to make them easier to mix later).
Wash your hands & clean cookware used to get the raw meat into the mixing bowl.
If you have a food processor: add 2-3 Garlic cloves, a handful of Parsely, half an Onion, a glug of Olive Oil to help mix. Finely chop it with the processor and then add it to your mixing bowl.
If you don't have a food processor: just finely chop each of the above ingredients by hand and add them one at a time to your big mixing bowl.
Crack two Eggs into that bad boy and season with some Salt & Black Pepper (optionally you can add some hot chili flakes if you like a bit of heat).
If you opted to go with italian sausage vs ground pork, be careful with how much salt you add, because the italian sausages will already have salt in them. You can always add more salt later, so play it safe!
At this point you're going to want to add about 1.5 cups of breadcrumbs to your mixing bowl and then mix it by hand until it's all nicely evenly mixed.
Now roll meatballs in your hand to whatever is your desired meatball size and place them into a pan to cook.
Once again wash your hands real good and clean up your cookware/cooking surfaces.
At this point add another glug of olive oil to the pan and fry them over medium heat. Move them around from time to time to try and brown them on all sides.
Meanwhile, get another pan or pot of tomato sauce simmering.
Add the meatballs to the pan/pot of your favorite Tomato Sauce and let them cook in there for another ~15 minutes until they are cooked all the way through.

Enthusiast historician here. Actually Kevin, you have pretty much invented a bike, a marvellous one, which origins date all the way back to the antique times. It is suspected that some military engineers of Ancient Greece and Rome have came up with an idea of this special kind of heavy ballista ammunition, basically - a giant up-weighted spear with long horizontal blades attached to it. This design was, however, despite being proven _very_ efficient against mass gatherings of infantry and _especially_ against all kinds of cavalry, later abandoned due to it's enormous production costs; the blades has to be as long as possible, which required them to be foldable when launched, acting pretty much like a TOW missile featherings nowadays. Such technology back then was _extremely_ expensive, requiring a lot of higly educated specialists labor _and_ also a lot of expensive materials, while still being somewhat unreliable in combat. So, instead of this complex design, it was decided to use much shorter, hard-fixed blades, which was, despite much less efficient, proven _tremendously_ cheaper and more reliable in combat. This design was very popular among ballistas users and was only finally abandoned with widespread use of firearms, and even some time after as an extreme budget-saving feature.
TL;DR the design originates around 200-300 BC, but was abandoned bc paying ~$1.4M per TOW missile isn't much of an option

3:30 I thought that as long as the center of mass is ahead of the aerodynamic center, the rocket will be stable, so being nose heavy shouldn’t reduce stability. However, drag from the blades could cause instability (which could be counteracted by putting fins at the back).

@@anluifb the problem is, acceleration from the same source is proportional to mass. So the lighter tail end of the rocket excellerates faster than the tip.
