  • Don't let the high water scare you away. Apart from the tricky wading, October is still an awesome time of the year to go trout fishing.

    Have a look at getting a Lifestraw filter bottle or even just a standard Lifestraw. Then you can get a drink stright from the water you're standing in (lake or stream). The bottle one's about $60, but would probably pay for itself in a season.
    I'm starting to get the feeling that I wouldn't mind nibbling on some fresh trout....lol

    Great to see some fishing action first thing in my morning, thanks. I am in Central British Columbia, Canada and I have found that leeches imitations work well, I have been using a black rubber leech about 3" long with a jig head that is either bright green or orange. Same as when I use a tied fly same colours seem to work. Have you found there that different head colours make any difference, just curious, thanks again.

    • @robbiefishing
      @robbiefishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much mate. I have had some great success with coloured jig heads. Strike Tiher use to sell them. There was oange and black, and they had red eyes on them. I found that they made the plastic look more natural which lead to more hook ups. I love them. I still have a fee but they're getting less and less.

    Hi Robbie, what size reel and line weight do you use? I’m going to do a bit of trout fishing soon and thinking of using a 500 to 1000 size reel with 4 lb line, is this something that you would use? .
    Great video as usual mate, cheers 🍻

    • @robbiefishing
      @robbiefishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks so much Wayne. I usually use either a 1000 or 2500 size reel, and almost exclusively use Maxima Ultragreen 4lb line. 6lb is probably better if you haven't done a lot of trout fishing. 8lb is too heavy. 4lb casts the best but 6lb is quite a bit stronger.
      I don't like braided line for this type of fishing, I find it is too prone to tangling.
