That might be because its mainly catch and release in the UK , or , you are limited to 2 trout to take away at most , here in France , you can take 6 trout - which is stupid - and means there are very few trout in the rivers .

I made it. Broken carp rod handle, some MAP spoon frame, replacement net..

Nice catches.... I tend to use more natural colors and smaller lures in clearer water, brighter colors in slightly stained, dark or black in stained.

Not saying that you are wrong BUT when it comes to Trout fishing, for me white is a killer color: it's still "natural" but I can see the lure in the water (if it's clear) as well as I can see it in the air then casting towards dark backgrounds..

Really enjoyed watching this. Is it best to use the jigging motion when you retrieve ?

For spring /autumn wading , try using foot warming pads - google "toasty toes" they work great-you just stick them to your socks on the ball of your foot .

Yeah, I did see USB chargeable ones. Not too sure if it's for me though - I am trying to complicate my life less and this would go against it. Maybe later, when I am in my 60s, or 70s.
      Cheers
