  • These labradorites have been color treated. Soaking them in acetone allowed me to restore their natural flash and remove the unwanted color treatment.

TH-cam recommended this to me, it's so cool. I'd love to see a side-by-side comparison of the before and after.

That’s a great idea!! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and will remember to do a side-by-side next time!

I think this is cool! I kind of really did love the purple though, but I wish they marketed them as dyed instead of lying about it. But I honestly loved the purple shine. Again though; I would rather be told than be lied to

I was the same way!! I LOVED the purple! It was soooo gorgeous and unique. But they really are beautiful in their natural state too so it’s a win-win🙂

😂 my hands are not pretty… I’m either sawing into my fingers or filing off my nails…but it’s ok because I make jewelry for people with beautiful hands ☺️

It's very special when labradorite has purple and peach on its own. It's a much lighter purple typically, or very small dark flashes integrated in against the blue. I have a few pieces with beautiful coloring that is natural.

Yes!! I have learned that and am sooo in awe when I see a true purple, pink or orange flash 😍 I wish I would have known that before I bought these 🥸

Reminds me of when I really started my gem an crystal collection an I got burned faily bad buying a few black opals not knowing they were smoked and/or doublets. 😅
Though fakeing purple labradorites is a new one to me, but I will be shareing this clip with my sister as she collects a lot of purple labradorites.

It’s always so strange to me why someone would want to treat something as naturally beautiful as gemstones like these! But, you’re absolutely right! We have to be very careful who we purchase from and hope they’re honest 🙌🏼

That’s crazy…and cool in the same time. I didn’t know they can do that. WoooW. Thank you for sharing, now if I buy something, I will ask if it’s natural or artificial colored👏👏👏

There are so many gemstones that have been treated. Some treatment isn’t bad (oil on emeralds to make them more vibrant), but something like this is unnecessary in my opinion 🤷🏻‍♀️ to each their own 🙂

ngl, I had no idea that people color treated labradorite.

Right? Why would anyone want to cover their natural beauty??

this doesn’t smell any different to nail polish remover or permanent markers. 🙂 I wasn’t sitting over it for long so I wasn’t concerned but I appreciate your concern!

What if I told you I had a labradorite stone that is worth a million dollars because of its rare imagery. One problem if I sell it. I firmly believe I'll lose its power, lol.

That would be super cool 😎 it’s funny, no matter how much a gemstone is worth in a market or to a vendor, to me they’re always priceless ✨
