My name is Vanessa and I am a self-taught jeweler. I bought my first soldering kit in 2022 and taught myself how to make jewelry through trial and error... a LOT of error. I work with silver, gold-fill and gold metals to bring you unique and handmade jewelry! I hope to be able to share my process, tips and tricks with you to help you on your metalsmithing journey or for those who enjoy ASMR and process type videos.
I quit my job in August 2023 to pursue my business full time. At the time, I had less than 400 Instagram followers and didn't even have a TH-cam account... But, I believe in myself and my work, and I hope you believe in me enough to share this journey with me. If you’re still reading, you’re a rock star!! I hope you enjoy my page and see you in the comments 🤍
With Love,
Vanessa

I hope you enjoy the story of my failed attempt at buying beads from the gem and jewelry show. It was quite a surprise for me to learn the truth about my purchase but we are going to make the best out of what we have 🙏🏼

I’ve had these Star sapphires and rubies for a while and have had this idea in my head about what to do with one of them. I finally decided to make it and wanted to share my process with you! I’m glad I decided to wait until now because there are some tricks and tools I’ve picked up along my Metalsmithing journey that have really helped me bring this ring to life. Business Basics: Shopify vs Godaddy - Why I switched from Godaddy to Shopify after 1.5 years
มุมมอง 5214 วันที่ผ่านมา
When I first created my website, I used Godaddy. That was 1.5 years ago. At the beginning of June, I switched over to Shopify and I wish I would have done this sooner. This video goes through the reasons why I switched and some major differences between the two companies. I hope you find this information useful! Have an awesome day! With Love, Vanessa
Studio Sounds: A (Couple) Day(s) in the Life of a Self Taught Metalsmith - Ep. 1
มุมมอง 24721 วันที่ผ่านมา
Studio Sounds is exactly what it sounds like: me, getting work done, thinking out loud and navigating through being a metalsmith at home. So many times, I have an idea in my head of what I want to create but those ideas don’t always work out. This was one of those times… I can say it was a waste to spend all that time, effort and material on something I won’t end up using, but it’s never a wast...

Very cute 😊❤thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching 🤍
Loooove me some threaders! 😍 BEAUTIFUL! 🥹🤌🏼
Aren’t threaders fun?? Thank you so much 🥰🥰🥰
I enjoyed your video! Cute erarrings, so nice! 😊😊
Thank you so much☺️🫶🏼
Beautiful earrings, thanks so much for sharing. What size chain did you use. I always struggle ordering chain, I either get too large or too small.
Thank you for watching! These are suuuper thin, I think around .6mm. For something like this, they have to be around the thickness you would use as an ear post. So if you use 1mm ear posts, you can get a 1mm chain 🙌🏼☺️
I would definitely melt those, good job on the good work!
Thank you so much 🥰 it’s always tricky working with delicate pieces 😅
Por cierto me parecio escuchar en un tutorial que aprendiste joyeria sola? De verdad ? Se puede? Felicidades
Yes, I am self taught! That’s why, in most of my videos, you hear me say, “I have no idea if this will work” because I honestly don’t! I just try and hope that it comes out 🫣🤩
Podrias hacer unos intercalando gemas y cadena? Gracias guapa!!❤
That’s on my to-do list!! There’s never enough time to make all the pieces I want to make 😅🥰
Gracias ❤
@@beatriz4802my pleasure 🥰
Súper bonitos!! Gracias el tutorial! Que grosor de cadena de plata recomiendas? Y el hilo que sueltas de 0.8? Gracias una principiante
Thank you very much! And thank you for watching!! I recommend a wire thin enough to pass through the ear hole so .8mm is great ☺️🫶🏼
That is my problem too. I can't saw a straight line to save my life. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Glad to see I'm not the only one. Thanks for all your great videos. Love them.❤
I’m so glad I’m not the only one 😅 thank you so much for your kind words!! We’ll get better!! 🫶🏼✨
Neat, and u r nice to look at ❤
Thank you very much 😊
Such lovely work, beautiful 😊❤🤩
Thank you so much, Rachel 🤍
You should make a video showing off all the pieces you've made!
That’s a beautiful idea 🤍 thank you!!
Yes please
@@Rachel-yi8yyI’ll work on this for sure 🥰🫶🏼
Love how it turned out!
Thank you so much 🥰
Yess I’ve been waiting to see someone use that for jewelry!! I heard it could be a hammer handpiece dupe but never saw anyone use it so thank you!! This ring turn out amazing, I love the design! You truly do keep getting better and better!!! 🥹💜💜💜💜💜
I LOVE the dremel engraver 😍I can’t recommend it enough!! Thank you sooo so much 🥰🥰🥰
Podrias explicar como medir la banda de anillo segun la talla? Thanks
Of course!! I will make a video on how to do this but basically, you need the inner diameter of the ring size you want, add the thickness of your wire and multiply that number by pi. You can look up the diameters of ring sizes online based on the country sizing you use (USA, EU, UK/Aus…). I also have a link in the FAQ page of my website that has a comprehensive breakdown of ring sizes. I hope this helps!!
Muchísimo gracias!!! Bendiciones
@@beatriz4802any time 🫶🏼 I hope that helps!! ✨
Gracias Vanesa por tus tutoriales!! Pongo traductor pues no hablo ingles. Gracias
I am so glad you’re enjoying my videos, Beatriz 🫶🏼 the welding glasses are only for Platinum, not gold, silver or brass. You don’t have to anneal in the dark (most jewelers don’t), but indoor lighting can make seeing the color change more difficult. The lighting I have where I solder isn’t good and this is just what works for me! I hope you find what works for you 🤍
Gracias

Beautiful beautiful ring!!! So many future stone options 🥹🫢
Thank you so much, Adriana 🥰🤗
Glad the broken blade dilemma is not just me, I try to afford a few size really good quality blades and it did help. But I still break them constantly. Love this design. You give me hope. Thanks for the videos.
The struggle is real 😅 thank you for watching and the kind words 🫶🏼✨
It's a little crooked but amazing work that's dedicación right there

Were do you order your moonstone crystals?
I am lucky enough that the International Gem and Jewelry Show comes to my city 3x per year. I have created amazing relationships with vendors and purchase from them ☺️
The saw blade struggle is real 😂❤
That’s what I get for buying cheap saw blades 😅🤍
Quick! Get some fresh air!
😂👏🏼
It’s always exciting for your first market…?I hope you did well. I teach Metalsmithing. I have been watching you. And you’re doing a good job. I have some recommendations for you but would rather send it to your IG… Dm Hugs 🤗, Michelle I really like that you are out in front of your camera…

Beautiful and elegant, very talented. I would love one of those necklaces.

Don't take to heart some of the negative comments, your work is amazing and some people just don't know the amount of work involved, and they cannot make it any better. Simply beautiful ❤

Great video. Love the ring.❤
Thank you very much ☺️
Wow. U are amazing. I keep using my lack of good tools as my excuse for not making more difficult jewelry designs, but now I feel terrible. Seeing how fearless u are in conquering these beautiful hard pieces with very minimal tools, I am humbled. Thanks for kicking me in the butt and proving if u can dream it u can do it. Love u. Keep making beautiful jewelry. ❣️
Holy moly, you just made my day 🥰 I know it’s rough not having all the cool tools but I think it’s so worth just going for it!! That way, when we go have the fancy tools, it’s super easy 😉 thank you for your kind words and I hope you make the beautiful jewelry with the tools you have so you can buy the tools you want 🫶🏼✨
