- #261. This REALLY TESTED ME! But Was 100% WORTH IT! Resin SPACE GLASS!
In todays Resin Art video we try a technique known as 'Space Glass' but with Resin!
I was sent a video of a piece of space glass and asked if I could try and recreate it using resin, it is not an easy technique to crack, but these are my first attempts.
You could try in a sphere resin mold but the openings are very small, you can get the resin sphere molds with a join in the middle but I have never had great luck with those.
The pieces are absolutely stunning and make beautiful resin art jewelry pendants!

Your welcome Daniel
Ok @@daniel..cooper, I have watched a lot of your videos, and this morning I had a neat idea watching this video. Do one of your crazy metallic galaxy ideas or something similar on one of the heart molds or smaller rounds, let that cure, then encase it in one of the bigger moulds that it would fit inside of. Hopefully that makes sense?
@xugans99 I have done this with a small petri piece, the magnification is crazy 🤩🤩🤩
@@debramackawgy9245 just beautiful!!! Thank you!!!
💜💜💜
FYI, Daniel, I was in my early 30s when I started having trouble with my words. I'm 65 now the problem isn't any worse but since I had concerns, my doc sent me for memory testing. It seems to be a fairly common thing. My memory issues at this point are down to stress. It is worse when I'm tired. Just wanted you to know it isn't uncommon and probably nothing to be concerned about.
Predominantly carnivore diet actually helps with that
@@pepperprovasnik ugh, I can't do that.
Thank you, yes, could be stress related 😔
Thank you!❤
“sticky uppy bits”-so glad to see that I am not the only one to use this very technical term! Gorgeous pendants as usual. Love to see you do something in a set--matching earrings and a pendant and maybe a bracelet???
Thanks Lisa 😁
I can share a tip I learned while making cake pops: after dipping and waiting for it to drip off, lightly tap the wrist of the hand you're holding the stick with a few times.
It helps getting rid of the access faster without having to scrape.
Great tip, thank you 😁
Dude, such a brilliant artist.
I love that there is a community of people that see this and then try it.
I love that you use technical terms like "sticky uppy part" lol
😂😂🥰🥰
Saying that it's stunning it's not enough! It's incredible! The Universe in a pendant 😮😮😮😮
Thanks so much 🥰
They remind me of the gorgeous ornament the cat in the movie 'Men in Black' has on his collar.
@@Littlewings1211my immediate thought, as well.
Gorgeous piece, might have to try it 😊
Those tiny nail beads are called "caviar" beads.
I like both oval ones better then the round ones but the round ones are pretty too. Really nice.
Thank you 😊
Daniel, these are just amazing! Thank you for such a detailed tutorial. I would have messed it up so many times (shaky hands, unfortunately).
Thanks Pauline 😁 😊 🫂
Who knew that products made for nails ( not sure what they were for originally) could be used in so many, different, beautiful ways. Stunning.
Id love to see a giant installation piece of this in context within a large set
Not seen galaxy done like that before. I used to use silver glitter nail varnish in the middle and pull out the spirals. Love the result
Thank you 😊 The effects are so glass like 🥰
The spinning is absolutely genius I love this Daniel 👌👌👌👌
Thanks Sue 😁
@@daniel..cooper 😍
It IS stunning!
The one you made in this video is definitely my favorite, but they are all awesome. Thank you!!
Absolutely love these but that circular one with more white is my favourite one I think
Thanks so much 🙏
This is just brilliant !! I just love everything cosmos etc . AND to be able to do it with UV Resin even better. That red one with the tail.. looks kinda like a comet hurtling thru space. Just brilliant !!!
Thank you 🙏
To take advantage of the “bleeding beads” make moving them deliberate and they would look like commits.
You really are a true artist, thanks for all the tips and ideas
I love that absolutely gorgeous blue color that you start with. ❤❤❤ You always come up with some of the most interesting techniques! Keep up the amazing work. Absolutely gorgeous!
Hi Dan! Your planetary galaxies are absolutely fantastic!!! The amazing colours! The beautiful whirlwind! The final touch is the glass effect! Wow I don't even know what words to use to summarise this video anymore... 🤭😜Thank you Dan!!! 🤩👋👋🪐💫✨
Thank you so much 😀
You come up with the most interesting ideas. The possibilities are endless for this technique. Result was out of this world!
Beautiful work I wish I had the talent to do that. It’s amazing.
Wow. I am amazed by your dedication and ability to think outside the box and open new areas of an art form. Who knew science and art would go together. Well done!
Thank you Janice 😊 🙏
Very cool! The oval could be wrapped with silver wire
More projects in my future! As always, thank you for all the inspiration!❤
Stunning results! Great job!😍
Hi Daniel this is so cool , love it thanks for sharing ❤ xx
Watching glitz & Glitter with Michelle yesterday & she mentioned you again! She was adding Elmers glue to resin for her job. Anyway - tonight, you’ve got top marks for your video - love it! Hugs xx 🎉
Thanks Fran 😁 Bless, she loves that hack 🥰
Wow absolutely blooming gorgeous I absolutely love this technique. All of them are gorgeous especially the 'bomb' 😍😂😍❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful depth! But I know I don't have the patience or the skill yet!
Yes, brain farts, we all have them!
Thanks, Daniel!
Hugs from 🇨🇦
Thanks Lori 😁 😊 🫂 You can do it! 🤩
I predict galaxies in everyone's future, lol. I can't wait to try this one. Anything that is worth while takes time and patience. That is so true.
Thanks Janice 😁 So true 🥰
WONDERFUL! I love this sort of fiddly resin project! I would recommend for the top half of the piece instead of just semi-transparent blue resin, to do a swirl of microglitter as well so it appears as floating stars!
GREAT JOB!!!
Thank you 😊 🙏
You put so much effort and love into your artwork, it's amazing. I can't see tou failing, simply the piece didn't turn out as you wanted. It's still gorgeous, it takes some serious skills to make something like this. You should be very proud of yourself.
Yea - success is sweet, and pretty.
Thanks Vickie 😁 😊
That would be cool with glow pigment swirls
100%, if I'm brave enough to try again, I will definitely be adding glows 🥰
Wouhaou !!!!!
🥰💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Thanks Claudine 😁 😊 🫂
Another "out of this planet" beautiful piece! I can't stop watching your videos. Thank you for sharing.
I have made Aurora borealis pendants with glow pigments in layers. I love the depth in these! Thank you, Daniel ❤
Thanks so much 🙏
You're amazing! Thank you foe show and tell. Love watching the creative brain you have at work. ❤😮
Thanks Cindy 😁
Oh my, that is stunning, doesn't matter how long a piece takes to make, it's the end result that's important.
I have fibromyalgia and get words muddled or I can't think what something is called, I think it also comes with age lol x
Wow , thank you for teaching us all . I have been watching your videos for a long time and every one is so very helpful .
You are so welcome, thank you 😊
Cosmically creative!!! ❤
This is unbelievably awesome. Not sure if I'll try this but but I love it! ✌️❤️🤣 peace, love and happiness
Daniel you can use uv gel top coat and a small nail brush to coat it instead of dipping it
Daniel you are the man! I love space scenes and I have been wondering how to do it. Thanks 😊
Thank you 😊
Absolutely gorgeous Dan, thanks for sharing 😊
Thank you Bea 😊 🙏
Hey Daniel! You are the "Wow Factor King" 👑
Love how you've captured a universe! 🌌
Thanks so much 🙏 🥰
WOW Daniel, you’ve certainly outdone yourself in this video. That is amazing. You’ve put a lot work into getting to this point and now it’s paid off for you, it’s more than stunning.
@pamelataylor3537 thanks Pamela 😊 🙏
Mini galaxy, of course I'm Imagining a huge resin ball galaxy because the tiny is so beautiful, mini would make a great playtime for me. Thank you.
Thanks Alison, maybe I will try a huge one some day 😁
This looks awesome...also looks very difficult 😮 Now I have another order for Resin Rockers. Currently waiting to receive "the BEAST"😊❤
Thanks Julie 😁 😊 You will love the lamp 🥰
It would have been nice to share a link to the original video you saw this on. There is a small channel who makes this style and makes it look very easy. Using something motorised for the swirl seems to give a different effect to doing it by hand.
Wow 😮 this is just stunning
Thank you so much! 🥰
Wow... That looks absolutely amazing! 😍
... The video title on the thumbnail though, OMG! 😂🤣
😂😂😂 Thanks as always 🥰
Beautiful. Got to give this a try. Thank you 😊
I have learned so much from you and look forward to learning more!!! Thank you Sir Daniel ❤
Thanks so much Julie 🙏 🥰🫂
@daniel..cooper you're very welcome Sir Daniel.
These are incredible, Daniel! Thanks for sharing! ❤
Thanks so much Barb 🙏 💓
Not all - plain sailing? My 10y4 old regularly translates for me 😊. Love your work, always great inspiration, Thank you 🙂
That's what I meant, thank you 😁😂
That is absolutely stunning. They all look good but that final piece is amazing. Looks way too complicated to try and replicate so I'm just happy I've seen an exceptional example of what can be done with time, patience and desire. Great work Daniel. The boss has done it again 👌
Thanks so much 🙏 Maybe try but on a smaller scale, you can do it 🤩
@daniel..cooper sorry to change the topic but is it possible with the pigment colours you used in the video to turn them in to alcohol inks?
Times are hard and I'm trying to make my own alcohol inks. If you've already done a tutorial on this can you tell me which one. MANY thanks again. Trev
@user-re1xw7xj5u Hi Trev, yes but they will not be very concentrated, would need to experiment with the dyes and some isopropyl alcohol, may also need a tiny amount of acetone to break the dyes down, it's doable 100% but I'm not sure the alcohol alone would work without trying. May need a drop of acetone with the dye before adding the alcohol.
@daniel..cooper hi,, thanks for the reply, I've ordered the isopropyl 99.9 and will try with different ratios. I will also try with my mica powders and see how it goes. Thanks again for your advice it will definitely help. Cheers
Daniel I love your technical terms "Sticky uppy part!!" and the piece is absolutly beautiful!! 🤗🤗💞💞💙💙
😊 thank you
The work you must go to for your videos is really impressive. Thank you. It’s an incredibly perfect universe! I absolutely love it. You’re so talented.
Thanks so much Barbara 🙏
Daniel you are truly amazing thanks again for all your research and testing for us ❤
Thanks Mary 😁 😊 🫂 Very welcome 😊

Stunning very nice technique. Thanks for sharing the details ❤
Thanks Maddy 😁 😊 🫂 Definitely worth the stress 😂
Wow, they are beautiful 😍 I really need to get cracking on my resin crafts I inherited from my mum. Thank you for your videos and dedication ❤
You’re welcome 😊thank you 🥰
Beautiful pieces, I would not have the patience and I definitely don’t have sharp enough vision to be able to recreate those in any way, shape or form! I bow to your superiority ❤
Thanks Sarah, you can do it! 😁🥰
@@daniel..cooper I really really couldn’t lol. I have trouble just pouring resin into a mold 🫠😂
Love love, them thanks Debby
Beautiful Daniel❤
Thanks so much 🙏
Daniel that s fantastic!
Thanks Darlene 😁
Love it! In my opinion the bubbles look like it's space things meant to be there n they still look neat. As a creator myself I completely understand the frustration though. The b-b's for nail art are called caviar beads if you're curious lol I know the name n still call them mini b-b's lol beautiful work
Are they the same as 'seed beads'?
@@Littlewings1211 no they are smaller than seed beads n have no holes in them
ABSOLUTELY ST🎉UNNING, love the universe in a pendant, and it definitely looks like glass😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 your right Daniel todays is the best!! Your our genius 😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you 😊 🙏
All techniques I know. The swirl I only just learned from resin courses. Then my nail experience. And all the tricks I've learned from you. But I would never have thought to layer all these techniques together. Thank you Dan for thinking up these things for us. 😊 Another awesome tutorial.
Thanks Vicky 😁 😊 🫂
Out of this world! Love the one with the pearl in it. 😍
Thanks so much Lisa 🙏 💓
Lovely project. Outstanding
Thanks Mike 😁 Definitely worth the stress 😂
That looks amazing! Great job. Thank you for sharing. 😊

Thank you 😊
Amazing isn't enough, wow..wow..wow, the universe in a pendant x
Wow wow wow thanks
Amazing Dan ❤
Thanks as always Pamela 🥰
Truly stunning.
Thanks 😁🥰
Beautiful technique! Turned out fantastic!!!! Makes me want to pull all of my resin molds out and try myself!
Thank you, definitely try! It's definitely worth it! Even if you make a few mistakes like me, we learn from them 🥰
Hey Daniel! They look amazing! I tried your galaxy video that you did before, wasn't a fan of the bulbous back, so I made the base with a flat mould, using the deeper mould as the lens, it looked different to yours but it was still really effective. Great video, you're so inspirational, thanks as always x
Yay, glad you was happy with your results 🥰
Daniel you have out done yourself------BEAUTIFUL
Thanks Karen 😁 😊
I love your videos. They are ASMR for me ❤
Absolutely beautiful!💖
Thanks so much Gail 🙏 Was definitely worth the stress 😂
@@daniel..cooper Haha, I love to watch, but I'll pass on being stressed out!😂
Absolutely beautiful❤,I’ve been wanting to do the galaxy ball but the way I seen it looks a bit complicated and really couldn’t see what is going on when you are swirling the colors around. I love this way of doing it. It may be a lot of stages but definitely worth the effort. Thank you for sharing your method with us. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next. The professor must be cooking up something new 😂😂. Thank you again for sharing your creativity. Definitely inspiring!!
Thanks Katrina, they are a little fiddly but can definitely get quicker once mastered 😁
@@daniel..cooper I’ll be trying it today been waiting for your tutorial 😊😁.
@@katrinajohns4319 yay! Have fun 😁🥰
Don't worry too much about not finding words. I am having trouble finding words in my mother's tongue because I only watch english content. As long as I can remember who I am and where I live I am not all too worried 😂
