Your videos have become my Saturday morning routine. I enjoy them with my first cup of coffee before heading out for a bike ride. Your videos are beautiful and I love the narrations.
Been in Korea less than a year and just finished Busan to Seoul which was epic. Excited to check out the East coast trail next so this popping up for me was perfect timing. Also, I'm a James Hoffman Aeropress follower too - perfect cup every time! I hear quilts instead of a sleeping bag is the way to go. Better bang for your buck, more comfortable, and lighter. New to touring so I have some upgrades I need to make to my bike before I upgrade gear! Excited to see more of your videos.
I’ve been in kore for ages and have don’t loads of tours but still not Seoul Busan. One day before I leave, whenever that is. Lots of people recommended a quilt. Thanks!
I understand your appreciation for the Atlantis. I have a 58 that I bought new in 2003. Fabulous bike. Been all over on it & it's been perfect for traveling & everyday riding.
@@probablyriding Mine is Toyo but the 58 & larger came with 700c wheels. The 56 & smaller had 26. We found a 47 for my wife & it has 26. I think the Waterford hit the sweet spot with the slightly longer wheelbase & 650b. They are rare indeed. I rode one a few years back & it had a subtlety better ride. I noticed it but the guys at Riv just mumbled about "revised geometry " without specifics. Waterford couldn't make the chainstays as long as Grant wanted was one reason they moved production to Taiwan. My Atlantis has been such a faithful & reliable companion that I'll never part with it.
Thanks for the info. Atlantises are for sure forever bikes. I love the geo of mine with the 650b wheels. I have the Clem with the super long chainstays already so it’s nice to have the slightly shorter Atlantis. The lugs are beautiful too.
I’m enjoying your content more and more. I love that you manage to show such enthusiasm for your gear and experiences without geeking out on all the minute details and turning into a “wannabe bike journo”. You really appreciate quality in everything and share your pleasure with us. Much appreciated Thanks.
I appreciate that! The main thing for me is having fun while riding bikes. Them being pretty with quality parts that can I work on myself, just makes me enjoy even more.
The quality of these videos is subscription worthy. And the vision, creativity, and production is 🤯. I can tell you take a ton of pride in your work. This channel deserves all of the love it gets and then some. Much love from Fresno, CA!
Just recently found your channel - really enjoy watching your daily/weekly adventures. You have such a calming energy and so do your vids. Thank you for sharing your life with us! :-)
Awesome video again. Really enjoyed the laid-back and relaxing vibe. Wholesome! Thanks for taking us along your rides and showing us your gear! Very interesting for a "gear head" like me. ;-) I loved the random appearing 'Weihenstephan' beer sign at 13:06, I recommend tasting thier beers. That with the Bayern Munich - Arsenal match. There are two references to Bavaria. Cheers and greetings from Munich in Bavaria! Ben
Love your videos! I have a “new to me” 90s specialized hardrock frame and my summer project is to rebuild it so it’s like your Rivendell! Functional but also with a cool looking form.
A lovely long video to start my Friday, cup of coffee in hand. Your videos are such a comforting space and only get better with every upload. Absolute quality, thanks for your content 👏🏻
Wow! The descending ride the end of your video felt like a dream... Excellent video and camera work. Your narration is a joy. Thanks for the wonderfully detailed bike check, too. Your Atlantis is a real beauty! Cheers!
I just found your channel, watched 3 videos and immediately subscribed. As others have said your voice and manner is so chill and soothing. As a side sleeper and someone who tosses and turns I switched to a down quilt three years ago and will never use a bag again. You need a good insulated air mattress to make it work. The Hammock Gear brand is fantastic and about 25% cheaper then Enlightened Equipment. I own both and would go Hammock Gear.
@@probablyriding Oh. Wow. I thought the Velo Orange frame with Hunt wheelsets would run you a bit less. Anyhow. She's a beaut! Just changed everything on my own bike frame the last few weeks. I am sad to say that I neglected it for a long while. I watched your build explanation video, and I am in the same boat anxiety-wise about the integrity of my work. I hope my workmanship will hold up when I need it to. Fingers crossed.
I lived in Dong-Hay on the east coast near where you filmed this for a few months in 2001. Loved it. Such friendly and trustworthy people. I am really enjoying your videos and the rivendell is epic
just dropped in to this video by a chance, and you mate is enjoying east coast better than i am lol! I lived in east coast when i was a kid, and i recognize all the sightings. Was so happy to see a fine Englishman of culture(I also really like the James Hoffman's method haha.) enjoying so much. Great vid and keep up the wonderful work.
Loving the pace of your vlogs- not me at all! However, rides are there to chill to, yes? I have a 51cm Mk 3 Atlantis with 650b and looong chainstays. Yes, a forever bike. For camping, I use a Rab (yes, non-budget) sleeping bag that's rated to around 5 degC, so useful most of the year. It weighs around 650-700g and packs really small. I add a silk liner/down (hoodless) jacket and/or merino leggings to regulate its effectiveness during the seasons- but not for Winter use. I have had this bag for 20 years, washed occasionally. 😂 I reckon any decent bag/quilt will work but weather in the UK is so unpredictable, Ilike to have options. Thanks again.
Thanks! That sound likes a very nice Atlantis and the sleeping bag sounds pretty sweet too. Like a lot of things, you probably get what you pay for. I think I’ll splash out eventually.
Agismax slpg bag packs small and is warm enough for summers your dinner was great just missing weiners for that 🇨🇦 camp mesl. Lol. Very very cool bike and relaxing posh cool kit
Love your videos! Two questions. Well, one question and one suggestion. Q: how much $$$ do your bikes take to put together? Would be super interesting. And useful to know whether it's something I can aspire to or just dream about! :) S: would be amazing to have a video about how you learnt to build bikes, whether you're self-taught or once did it for work etc. And a look at your workshop etc! And maybe even a bit about your lifestyle (work etc) that allows you to enjoy your bike in such a pure way! Thanks again for the videos. They're a highlight of each week. x
Thanks for the suggestions. I mentioned in my velo orange polyvalent bike check that I’m self taught, mostly from TH-cam. I don’t have the luxury of a workshop. I just bring my toolbox and work stand down to my apartment basement car park!
Buddy you are really crushing these. Loving them so much. Keep up up and also don't burn out!
Thanks! The filming part is easy because I ride my bike every day. The editing takes time but I’m enjoying it!
*me finishing the video* "clean video club"
Yes! You reached the bonus Clean Bowl Club reserved for those who watch the whole video. Thanks for watching.
Your aesthetics and delivery are top shelf. I always feel like your journeys are my journeys. I too am a Riv rider.
Awesome! Thank you!
You're so cool and chill. This video is so therapeutic man, very peaceful
I never thought this would be the description I’d receive the most when I started making these videos but I’m happy with it. Thank you!
liked before even watching the video! I can already tell this is gonna be grand.
Same here!
Thanks! Hope you enjoyed it.

That’s amazing. Thanks for watching twice!
This is the most uphyped, natural, as it is, under equipped TH-cam channel I’ve seen. AMAZING!
Wow, thank you!
As an American I feel like I'm getting a taste of English and Korean culture. All wrapped up in the form of bike rides. I love it!
That’s so cool to hear. Thank you.
Sophisticated Korean food, classy bike, smooth tunes, baked beans on toast for dinner 😂
An eclectic mix

Happy to hear that!
Another fantastic watch. Always thought aeropress to be a faff, admittedly never used one in favour of a standard stove top pot when camping.
I think it’s easier than pour over, at least.
What NB are you riding in?

the road to Seoraksan is an especially beautiful ride up from the beach.
