I agree! This is the kind of bike videos I love. Not selling anything, not trying to impress, just nice chill vibes enjoying some rides. Absolutely love it.
One of my favourite TH-cam channels right now. Your content is so soothing, bikes, coffee, culture and food, what’s not to like! I always look forward for your uploads, keep up the amazing journey
Love what you said: "Sometimes I wonder why people are smiling at me, and then I realize I have a big grin on my face because of riding bikes." Very enjoyable video!
Your channel stands out for all the reasons people have already mentioned. I love that no sections are time-lapsed and that it’s the natural pace of your voice, without editing out pauses. Not sure when people starting doing that but it sucks. Subscriber for life here.
Blimey. Life has been so full on for me this last year and the algo Gods give me this. My wife and boy are asleep and I'm up late in my armchair watching a lovely chill dude cycle around some cool places. Cheers internet stranger, I needed this calm. Immediate sub
Anybody else find their happiness goes up and their blood pressure goes down while watching these videos? Such a unique and enjoyable "cycling" channel in a sea of cycling channels. No other channel makes me want to go for a ride like this one. Keep up the good work.
Came across your channel about 4 weeks ago. Each upload is an incredibly lovely slice of life, so relaxing and I’m envious of the life you live with your bikes. Please keep it coming.
Your videos seem to embody the Rivendell Bikes philosophy. Today (15 May) my wife and I went up to Seoul; we live in the country near Cheonan. She had her own things to do; I first rode off to Hitch Bicycle Club Cafe. A pleasant ride , and was surprised to sit down in such a relaxed cafe. A thoroughly competent barista and an excellent cup. Next I headed west to Godeok and hit the bakery, where I picked up a loaf of the 50% rye bread. This turned out not to be what I expected but instead a great breakfast option, with just the right amount of walnuts and raisins to give it some interesting complexity.. My wife loved the hread.. She has just zero interest in biking, but when I showed her the market video that got her attention and she wants to head back up to hit the market on Friday. Thanks so much for new experiences and fresh perspectives.
you've made me fall in love with riding bikes and taking moments to stop and just admire our surroundings. I've lived vicariously through your videos because they make me feel so full and happy. I know we all have our own issues and life isn't always this romantic, but keeping these moments you portray to us in mind helps me out during those trying times. And it sort of gives me hope that maybe one day I'll find my own way to appreciate the world around me, like you've found in riding bikes and exploring S. Korea.
15:41 wooooah to believe you were somewhere in there just in the last couple of minutes is so wild to think about. the top heavy structure with the pointy top really put everything into perspective! Thank you for these calming videos. And sorry I repeatedly comment on the same video...x3 I just love rewatching your stuff and finding new things to appreciate.
The variety of food and care of presentation is on another level. Riding your bike there is the perfect way to enjoy the day. I would love to spend a year in Japan just riding and eating. Congrats to you for living the dream. Signed green.
I LOVE watching your videos. I live in Melbourne which is a good cycling city and has great coffee. I'll be taking the bike out this weekend for a ride to the markets and to stop off at some cafes along the way. Thanks for inspiring me!
Hey mate, found your channel yesterday and absolutely love your vibe! Humble, humerus, informative, great vids, gorgeous bikes, fabulous cultural immursion, what a surprising and delightful place Souel is to ride! Keep up the great work you have one more eager subscriber here 👌 happy riding! 🙂
Yay! That was perfect. What’s not to love, Bicycles, flowers, food, café 🥰 Every shot was perfect, you’re editing is 🤘🤘 Cold buckwheat noods are my favorite Korean go-to as well.
Stumbled on your channel and it's fantastic! I really hope you dont change anything. There's such a nice honest way you film and edit that's very much missed in the world
Beautiful! thank you for sharing, I am inspired by all your videos. I wasn't aware of how amazing is Seoul, please share more about life there. Lots of love from Mexico!
That was a great video. I originally started watching because of bikes but now I enjoy watching you ride through beautiful Korea. My wife is Korean and she always tells me how she would like to live there.
This was a great video...I was almost waiting for Anthony Bourdain to show up and say some smart ass comment. The cinematography on this video is spectacular. I love the market and you getting your food eaten at the market and also home and the coffees are also great. That Atlantis is set up very nicely. Cheers and again , great job with this video.
Thank you so much. I’ll take any connection to Anthony Bourdain. I just got back from Hong Kong and all the best restaurants there had a picture of him in the window.
I really liked this video. I live in a hilly part of Los Angeles with my bike as my main mode of transportation so I appreciate seeing someone living in a hilly area that isn’t know for being particularly bike friendly (though from your videos I do wonder why more people don’t ride) just getting around by bike. That last part where you’re just riding downhill feels like the credits scene after beating a video game.
oh man, that intro song really reminds of bennie and the jets. Perfect way to end the work week by watching a brit probably riding a bike through South Korea.
i was living on the hilly part of seoul, so bike was not an option back then. but your video really bring back memories, always love the back alleys along with their numerous cafe and local bakery! i was shocked you decided to go to namsan by bike!! i mean, if i were you, i would just give up and push my bike all the way to the top
@@probablyriding i can see why it’s so popular, indeed very challenging and breathtaking! (both figuratively and literally, lol) i wish i had the stamina to ride up namsan, no need to take the electric bus nor the cable car. someday i might!
Hi from Tokyo Japan. Love your video and the similar lifestyle to what I have here with bikes, coffee and living in Asia. Really appreciate you sharing this authentic slice of life in Korea. Nice looking bike infrastructure by the way.
I love that sensibility of riding, walking, people watching and relaxing as you sip on a fresh cup of java. Alas, it is is disappearing in this carcentric country where you hurry up and wait stuck in a crawling parking lot. And that's what you see if you go to a cafe. A street with cars. Even the outdoor seating once occupying fast food verandas have been pulled away because of minimizing staff with kiosks in their place. Besides that you would only be looking at a parking lot of cars and traffic in the street. 🤔
loved your ig content and loving the channel! would love to see a minimally edited video of you doing a longer trip , just the sounds & sights of seoul on a bike's pace
Loving your content. Really relaxes me watching you cycle around the city, and also nice to pin some cafes on Google maps in case I one day visit Seoul (you're clearly a man of great taste haha)
Have you tried For Four Bread? It's near Mangwon, a vegan bakery, they have amazing ciabatta. I have a hard time understanding if it's all rice or rice mixed with wheat but it's mindblowing. Found it during my first trip to Korea so during second trip we spent a week in Seoul and went there 3 times haha
Really loving all of these videos! I'm always smiling at the end of them. Wondering have you ever checked out the Kalas cafe in Seoul? They have a sister cafe in Leipzig Germany where I'm living and if it's any bit similar to here I'm sure it'll be great! :)
Thank you! I hadn’t heard of them but just had a look and I think I’ll like it. Thanks for the recommendation. It’s actually very close to the market in this video.
Man that was good. You should do a video of how you came to be in South Korea, from the U.K I'm guessing. Don't wanna pry too much into your personal life but it would be interesting to hear your story, in your own style of course, while riding!
Quickly becoming my favorite channel.
Me tooooo❤
Biiiig same, so calming ☺️
Yay! Thanks for watching
Officially my fave channel.

So calming.
So beautiful.
Always makes me wanna go for a ride!
That’s why I make these videos!
This man's coffee budget is off the charts.
☕️💸
I think if his coffee budget as what he would have paid for petrol if he was driving a car to all these places 😁
Simply beautiful, the perfect antidote to a hectic friday..........
Thanks!
I absolutely loved the part where you were riding down the hill perfect cap to the video and such beautiful scenery with some great music.
Thanks! I think a lot of people switch off by then but I think they’re missing out!
Your channel stands out for all the reasons people have already mentioned. I love that no sections are time-lapsed and that it’s the natural pace of your voice, without editing out pauses. Not sure when people starting doing that but it sucks. Subscriber for life here.

That downhill ride at the end was such a great payoff for the climb (which was so much more than I thought). Beautiful surroundings too.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Loving the food information. Stumbled on your channel by a recommendation. Genius stuff. Happy Christmas.
Glad you found it!
The variety of food and care of presentation is on another level. Riding your bike there is the perfect way to enjoy the day. I would love to spend a year in Japan just riding and eating. Congrats to you for living the dream. Signed green.
Thanks. This is Korea but Japan is great for riding bikes and delicious food too 👍🏻

Another wonderful video. I love running errands on my bike!
Thanks!
The downhill ride at end of the vid was very satisfying ❤❤❤
Thanks for getting that far. I think it’s one of the best parts of the video.
Spring is the best time of the year
Spring and Autumn in Korea are perfect.
the part with cooking was unexpectable and become a really good part of the video
Thanks! I thought a grocery getting video needed some sort of cooking.
Lovely thanks for the tour
Thanks for joining

Glad I ran into your channel, very nicely done videos. Keep it up 👍
Thanks, will do!
loved this one again Marcus! Really enjoying discovering Seoul through your eyes and bike rides!
Merci!
"sometimes I wonder why people are smiling at me but I realize I have a big grin on my face" this is literally me when riding my bike

Immensely satisfying to watch. Thank you!
Glad to hear that!
Loving your channel so much, it’s so relaxing to start the weekend ☺️ thank you!

Very true! Thanks!

Nice looking bike infrastructure by the way.
Hello 👋 Thank you! I spent a month in Tokyo with my bike last summer. Absolutely loved cycling there.
I didn't expect to see 한글 when I randomly reached this video. Your editing is lovely. New subscriber from Korea
Thanks for subbing!

City life with fewer cars would be much better.

Thanks! There’s an insane amount of good coffee here.

Really dig your philosophy here

Hongic Univ. area is a great place to live, but unfortunately it’s too expensive. My family lived in Gangdong.
Good to live there if you’re young.

More to come!
really nice videos! that front racks hold on the brake? which are those racks? looks amazing!! greetings my friend!
Thanks! They’re nitto s racks attached to the rack braze-ons on the fork.
chill and ride
😎
Really loving all of these videos! I'm always smiling at the end of them.

Best vid yet!
Come and ride bikes in Seoul again. I have inner tubes now 😉
Another serene bike experience
☺
🙏
What bars do you have on this bike?
Thank you. They are Nitto Billie Bars.
Are Korean lilacs a thing in Korea? That lilac variety grows well in our back yard.
Yes! They’re everywhere right now and smell incredible.
Are you using the GO3 chest magnet (necklace) for the descent ride? If so, it’s very stable! Impressive
Yes 👍🏻 it’s a great little camera. I like how easy it is to take on and off the chest magnet.
i like your videos mood
Thanks👍🏻
Love your videos mate! Where is your blue and white striped shirt from?
From Cayl.
Loved the upload, could you tell me what bars you've got on there? Bosco? thx
They’re Nitto Billie bars, my current favourite bars.
한국 사람 입니다. 덕분에 서울의 봄 재미있게 보고 갑니다. 한국 사람을 대표해서 감사 인사를 전합니다 (국뽕)
감사합니다. 좋은 하루 보내세요
I love this:-) thanks for the market Video. It is so cozy, i feel like to drive with you… i hope you get a lot of followers:-) thanks LG Mar
Thank you so much!
youre living my dream
Mine too, most of the time.
Man that was good. You should do a video of how you came to be in South Korea, from the U.K I'm guessing. Don't wanna pry too much into your personal life but it would be interesting to hear your story, in your own style of course, while riding!
Thanks for the idea. A couple of others have mentioned that too. I will make that video at some point, seeing as people are curious.
Great shirt! Mind telling us where you got it??
It’s from Calico Seoul. I went there in my last video th-cam.com/video/srMftYspN4U/w-d-xo.html Link to their website is in the video description.
lovely video! what front rack you running? Atlantis is a dream bike for me.
It was a dream bike for me too. I can’t believe actually have it. The front racks are Nitto S racks.
Loving the pannier-cam perspective. 😂 Do you run most of your bikes without fenders?
At the moment no fenders. Summer is the rainy season here, so I’ll be putting some back on.
