  • This video is meant to help someone lacking the knowledge or maybe isn't confident enough to take on the task of changing a headlight bulb. This specific vehicle is a 2015 Kia forte I bought new. I was constantly having problems with my dodge ram 1500 I had at the time and it made sense finacially to finance a new car that came with warranties and was good on gas. At the time gas was close to $4 a gallon and I was spending $90-$120 a week on gas just commuting to work and back home.

Thanks for the video, I have a 2014 Kia Forte Ex and the lights have been super dim on this thing since I got it. Finally got fed up enough and bought SYLVANIA - H11 SilverStar Ultra - High Performance Halogen Headlight Bulb. They come in the mail today. Hopefully it shines brighter because currently I can barely see down the road without my high beams on.

      Were they brighter?

@itsyrboiiijustinnn4934 Honestly, it was an improvement, but not very much. I would say to get LED installed if you can. I just feel like my car's lights don't shine very far out. Instead, it's more closers to the ground, and I even tried adjusting them.

I would agree with @valor7464. They were a little better but it wasn't an amazing difference in my opinion. If you're in a position to swap out the assembly for a better/brighter setup that might be the route to take

Are there any retainer clips on the fuse box cover? I can only get the latches loose and the front (facing the bumper) off but the rear seems to be ¾ stuck.

What about the high beam headlight bulb on a 2015 kia forte lx? Mine has some kind of metal clip and I keep getting the wrong bulb I think.

I just took a look at mine. I see the metal retainer you're talking about. I'm not 100% certain but I would think you have to unscrew that metal piece from the look of it. I'd be careful not to drop the screws, use a magnetic bit if you have one handy. Maybe even put a piece of paper/cardboard under it with something to catch the screws. There's usually a book or computer to look up what bulb you need but remember that Google can be your friend too. It may also be in your manual if you have it.

It doesn't work counterclockwise. Mine won't turn at all once the lid is removed

I recently did my rear brakes again (in the cold Michigan winter) and it was pretty tight. There's hasn't been any major issues with this vehicle since I've owned it. Just oil changes, headlights, tires, and brakes. At this point I've put almost 175k miles on it and we've been up and down the east coast a few times with no problem. It is a bit of a pain to work on but thankfully I've been capable of doing the work myself so far

Not helpful. He has the camera on him too much. He should have the camera on the inside of the hood on the light bulb the entire time.
