I have the 2014 forte ex, i have not found an h1 led that will fit into the high beam slot yet. Without modification or using a motorcycle led its prolly only possible on 2017 and above models.
Nice job on the replacements. We have the exact year car, same color too! The passenger side low beam is aimed slightly higher than the drivers side. How does one adjust the height? Thanks.
Did your car come with factory hid? Mine did not and I had to pay a shop to install some aftermarket which had ballasts and a rats nest of wires that could not be tucked back into the housing with the sealed caps. 8 years later the bulbs are burnt out and I am thinking of replacing them with led to avoid the mess with ballast and the extra wires. Don’t know if these are able to be aimed / levelled because they seem a little high when I drive.
Is putting that ground wire like that gonna be alright? Like it’s not going to cause a problem later down the road will it because I ran into the same problem and I got a converter and now I’m wondering if I didn’t need to🤔 also have a 2014 Kia Forte Lx same bulbs H1 but I’m using LEDs not HID

Hi, your video is much appreciated. I have been financing a 2014 Kia forte EX, and I always take the best care of this car that I possibly can, I always keep up with the oil changes every 3,000 miles or less, basically when it tells me to. And, I just got a brand new front and back catalytic converter, new gas lines, a new alternator and a new battery. And when go to start my car in the morning, it doesn't start. I had purchased a NOCO genius jumper/starter for the car, & everytime I start the car now, literally everytime! It's almost as if I have a second key to start the car now... Lol.. I don't even bother trying to start the car with just the key anymore literally! I go straight to the hood latch, open the hood, and jump/charge and start up the vehicle rite now? And, I had just brought my car to a place called Quality Auto, in Key West, Florida. And first I had them check the car, because it wouldnt start anymore without a jump/charge. So they put a new alternator in the car, & I already had a brand new battery 🔋. So when we went to pick up the car, they said it was fixed, & then 4 days later, the car wouldnt start again? So I used my "NOCO GENIUS" again, & them got it started, but then a bunch of steamy/ smoke, came up from underneath the hood, like under the car, almost like a steam train, blowing out its steam! Then the AC stopped working, & I noticed that the engine fan wasnt working, unless I have the AC running! And then, I called the mechanic back again, & explained what was happening, & he said to either drive it there, or have it towed their again. So I ended up having them work on my car again! This time, they said that my AC Line, or compressor, was no good, & that it was dumping out all of the frion, wich was the steamy substance that I had noticed. So they fixed that, & said that the car will start now, & that its ready to pick up. Then, about a week later, this last week that has gone by, I've had to constantly start my car with my NOCO GENIUS- 12V 1000A GB40- Jumper/Starter, & I've had to use that everytime I attempt to start the car now literally. My low beam lights haven't worked for awhile now, & I've had to stick with my high beams, due to how much money I've spent in the last 7-8 months, & I'm officially at a loss of words, between both the different auto shops I have brought the car to, and my car still doesn't seem to be fixed even though I have been paying thousands and thousands of dollars to these places to fix my car? Also, I've never seen anywhere in the country except for the Florida keys, and my entire life, where you pay somebody $1,100 to fix your air conditioning problem, and figure out why my car isn't starting when I started with a key, and after paying for the fix, and picking the car up and having it back at the house, it's still causing me problems, when it comes to trying to start the car! The air conditioning works now, but it's like it was a trade off, I got my air conditioning fixed when the car still somewhat started, and now that the AC works, now the car doesn't start without me jumping it! And where I have a brand new alternator literally, and a brand new battery literally, what the heck would be causing my car to not start up when I turn the key? To the point that, I have to use my NOCO genius jumper/starter, just to get the vehicle running so I can drive it, almost like a second set of keys! And if I turn my car off ever while we're out running our errands or any of these things that we need to do, then I'll have to use the noco genius jumper/starter again to start the car again! You'll be the next bitch it seems like the mechanic is avoiding me, and I had just paid them $1,100 for the air conditioning fix, and to take a look at my window buttons in the car which are electrical, and that have been getting jammed. So the $1,100 went towards fixing the air conditioning problem, and the window buttons being jammed problem. And prior to this fix, I had also brought the car to them about a month before that, because the car wasn't starting, and that's when they put the alternator in, which that costed me about four or five hundred bucks when all was said and done, so right there, that's about almost $16-$1700 in the last two or three months, that I paid them to make sure that my car starts now, and fix the AC and alternator. And yet still here I am, not even a week or two after getting the car back this last time from them, and I still can't start the car without the noco genius jumper / starter! I call them and let them know about it and every time I call they say the guy is not available, and for the last 3 days the lady that always answers told me that she'd have the guy call me first thing the next day, which he has not called me back once! Prior to this auto shop that I chose, I had brought my car originally to the Kia dealership in Key West Florida. And that was when I needed the front and back catalytic converters fixed. But at the time, we only knew about the back catalytic converter that needed to be fixed, and myself and my wife didn't even know that our car had two different catalytic converters, front and back. So they had our car for about 2 weeks maybe, and said that the car was fixed and ready to be picked up! So we went and picked the car up with the brand new catalytic converter and supposedly safe and all set and fixed to drive. And we made it about 5 miles, out of the 17 mile trip, back to the house, where the car broke down, and we had to pull to the side of the highway, and literally didn't even make the ride back home from the Kia dealership that just supposedly fixed our car and said it was safe to drive home?? Then, we had to have them tow the car back to the Kia dealership, the next day, and then they had the car for almost 3 or 4 months straight, and told us that when we drove the car from their shop back towards our house, that the front catalytic converter that they fixed, blue everything that was stuck in it into the back catalytic converter, clogging it and destroying it, or something along those terms. So basically, the people that told us our car was safe to drive home, that we trusted to fix, which costed me about $2,500 or more, we're trying to say that our little 5-mile trip from the Kia dealership heading back to our house 17 miles down the road in Summerland Key, was supposedly our doing! So needless to say, once this was finally fixed and taken care of, I decided to stop dealing with that dealership because I felt like they were trying to sabotage my car, rather than help us, for different reasons besides just the obvious ones that I stated. So that's why about two or three months later after that serious fixed job, we decided to go with a different auto mechanic. Which is how we ended up going through this place called Quality Auto. And that's the place that I've been dealing with for the car not starting, the air conditioner, the alternator, and simply asking them to make it so my car starts please and thank you. And you would think, where I paid them about $500 to get the alternator job fixed, that they would have noticed my car not starting like it does for me everyday and fix it, which most mechanics would do, especially where the people that are expecting their car to be fixed, which is us, can't exactly drive a vehicle that doesn't start. And then also after the air conditioning fix and electrical window button fix, and again I had also mentioned that the car needed to be checked cuz it's not starting, you would think after all of this, that my damn car would at least start with all the money I've spent in the last six to eight months. I've gotten to the point where I feel like the whole island is working against me, and trying to destroy my car, rather than fix it, which I have paid every penny I was supposed to towards these fixes. I pay for my oil change to get done every time I am told on my car that it's time for it to be done. And with all that said, I still have to jump start/charge the car in order to start it?? If there's any advice you can give me, or any help with any of these issues which right now the only issue is the car won't start with a brand new battery and a brand new alternator, your help would be extremely appreciated, thanx again 👍🙏
Wow lots of issues - couple thoughts.. Have you went through and checked all your fuses for blown ones? Have you replaced / checked your fuel filter? Have you had your starter itself inspected? Sorry you’re having all these issues!
@@JustStandardLife yea, its gettn crazy, to the point that I'm not sure if someone is creating these problems, cause Maybelline they don't like me, or if its just bad luck, after bad luck, after bad luck repeatedly... Lol.. Thanks a bunch for your reply, its highly appreciated my friend. Yea, I was attempting to check all the fuses, wich to be honest with you, im not very mechanically smart with cars etc.... Im not sure which fuses to look at, & the fuse layout on each fuse cover, is extremely confusing to me. I was trying to figure out wich fuse box deals with the low beam headlights... And also, wich fuse itself, is the correct fuse or fuses to check?? All I know at this moment, is that everyday since about a week ago, or maybe a little more, I've had to use my NOCO genius jumper/ starter , to start the car up, & ive recently had a new Alternator put in, & had my battery checked again, at Advanced Auto, & they said that it is a brand new battery, as well. Then, when I attempted to check all my fuses, I wasnt exactly sure where to start looking honestly. The ones that I did look at were fine. I even checked the 150A fuse, thats built into the battery terminal, that says "ALT 150A", and it was fine. But, I did try looking up online for the fuse layout of a 2014 Kia forte ex, and was having trouble finding the layout that has the same fuse box setup that is in my vehicle. Then, I ended up finding this website that did have a layout of the same layout that's on the back of my covers, hoping that there would be an explanation explaining what is what and maybe give me a better idea of where to look! But, I noticed the abbreviation for high beam and low beam, wich im guessing was HB or LB, and I noticed that in about three or four different fuses and explanations on the fuses. So once I seen that, I officially became extremely confused, and it was getting dark, as well, and just said the hell with it! And used my NOCO genius starter/jumper to get the car running so we could go get something to eat. And I'm really skeptical of bringing it to the last mechanic that I paid $1,100 to to have my car running normal which it's not, where I literally about a week and a half ago, had just paid them $450, to fix the Alternator, cause I said that my car wasnt starting. And then, once that was done, we picked the car up when they called us to say its done. Then, literally 4 days later, my car wouldnt start again. So I got a jump by someone in my small community, and then about 30 seconds after starting the car, it spit out a plume of steamy smoky substance, from underneath the cars texture engine. And then noticed that the AC wasnt working. Then, I proceeded to call Quality Auto again, and I explained that it's only been 4 days since I picked my car up from you guys and it's not starting again, and my AC isn't working and I explained the whole plume of smokey steamy stuff. He said to drive it there, or if I can't drive it, to have a tow bring it. Then, about a week later, they finally had my air conditioning line fixed, and had to refill the freon for the AC, in the AC compressor. And then when they release the car back to me, they said that as far as the car not starting they didn't understand what I was talking about and that the car runs perfectly fine now when they check it, which I thought was kind of strange considering it literally does it every single day for me?? So of course we drove it home after that, and then about 4 or 5 days about after that, again, my car wouldn't start! And again about 30 seconds later that steamy Smoky plume of substance came out of the AC Compressor again, & I also had to jump it again. And then called them again, asking what the hell is goin on, & why I just paid $1600 bux, in one month almost, just to have my car professionally fixed, & it's still not starting, ot running correctly, or as if it was just fixed at all? An again, I brought my car back to them, & we brought our bikes that day, assuming that they would have the car for a bit, & before myself & my wife could leave the lot, on our bikes, he called me over to the garage area, & said it was the AC Compressor again releasing all the frion again, & that hes not sure why its doin that, but that everything seems to be running fine again. And I asked if they're going to find out what is causing this to happen, & if they're gonna fix it, so that its no longer a problem? And he said that he's really not sure about what else it could be, but that he was extremely busy that day, and that if it for some reason doesn't start again the next day, or when I do seem to have the same issue again if I do, just simply contact him and he'll take a deeper dive into it. Then of course, for about a week or more, the car seemed okay. The AC was running perfectly fine, I was able to start my car with my key, and then starting last week at the end of the week, it wasn't starting with the key again, but the AC is still perfectly fine, but now I just can't seem to start the car because the battery keeps getting drained somehow, even though it's a brand new alternator and brand new battery and even though I brought it to the mechanic three or four times in about a month, and yet here I am still with the car not running! I must have paid about $4,500 in the last 8 months, down here in the Key West Florida area, and yet, my car still doesn't start?? So this is why I'm in a space that I don't know what exactly to do, or where to bring it. Because, first I brought it to the Kia dealership, and after the front and back catalytic converter was fixed, not too long after that is when I had the problem with the alternator! And once I had the problem with the alternator I decided that no longer dealing with the Kia dealership, because they had our car for almost three or four months, and yet my car still has problems? It just doesn't make any sense to me. So that's why we decided to try a different auto shop or mechanic, which is why we brought the car to Quality Auto in Key West Florida for the alternator, and the electrical window buttons, and the car starting problems etc... And even with a different mechanic, here I am again, a few thousand dollars in the hole, during the pandemic while we're both unemployed with not much money, and here I am still with my car not starting without a starter or jumper?? All I know is, this shit is getting crazy. We are very responsible and take great care of this vehicle to the best of our capability, where we're not mechanics ourselves! I returned the car alerts me to do an oil change, I bring it directly there immediately and make an appointment and get the oil change and fluids checked, and tires rotated. And it seems as though no matter what I do on this godforsaken island, I end up with my car worse off even though I'm paying money to have it released to me fixed. This is why I'm reaching out to somebody on TH-cam now, because I almost feel as though the mechanics aren't trying to help me. I guess you would have had to have been there, and just witnessed what I've been seeing unfold before my eyes with my vehicle. And without this car, which I'm still financing, myself my wife would be doomed, and would be stuck at our apartment 17 miles away from town, and it would just create lots of problems for the two of us. And the whole reason I also been getting all these fixes done and spending all that money to get the car fixed, is so that we can move, because the price is down here are too expensive anyways, as far as rent goes for apartments and everything. And I was trying to make damn well sure that my car is going to be running 100% tip top shape, prior to us moving. And instead, it's like I'm getting the complete opposite result even though I'm spending thousands of dollars for these fixes, and I'm far from a rich person, I'm on disability, and the money I've been using to pay for these fixes is money saved up in the bank, that was supposed to be for our move. I have officially started to wonder if this is being done purposely by somebody around where I live, or somebody on this island, and I wouldn't even understand why they would do that. If that's the case! But either way, I guess I'm just reaching out for some help cuz I have no clue what exactly to do right now, & it almost seems as though it doesn't matter what I do to keep this car running somebody, something, or some force, is trying to damn hardest to make sure I don't have a car that's running!! 🙏
I have a question , I have a forte 2017, and supposedly I need an adapter besides the HID for the projector light . Do you know a brand or website of where to find that HID WITH THE ADAPTER ?🙏🏻
Hey Ash, I've seen people use kits off proimportturners.com for things like this - I already had the HID bulbs, but they do seem to wear out quicker than HIDs I've had on other cars - good luck!
Hi, really helpfull video. I see you used 35W Bulbs to replace originals but owners manual indicates it cames with 25W system. It will be maybe a problem in the future? or higher power on bulb doesn't will decrease ballast time life. Thanks and cheers from Peru
Hello Jesus! You’re correct on the wattage difference, I also was curious when I installed them - however, I never had an issue with heat or ballast life - they worked as well as the originals. Best of luck!
According to what I read in the owners manual, the bulbs should be the same wattage. While I am sure there is an upper limit, the problems seem to come in when there is a differential.
Not even a before and after in the night time up against a wall or on a dark road.... I think with projector headlights the HID's dont do much when it comes to brightness since they are always pointing in the same direction anyway.... and the high beams on LEDs is good but will last for years. I did LEDs on my low beams and they have survived going on 2 years and 4 months now. I did LEDs to the entire car's lights except for the high beams and that glass bulb in there is suffering with the mood led shinning on it a lot.
@@JustStandardLife well in some places they got HIDs that's nice. Yet another thing I wasn't aware of. The part's department at my dealership only will sell a customer parts if they have the vin number to the car they are buying parts for. I think it sucks. I can't walk in there and just say I want the full LED headlight housing for my car because they dont do that. They ask for the vin and then sell you what it came with. 😒😔
Were those the factory HID you took out? I had to install aftermarket ones from TheRetroFitSource and had to do without the dust cap because I had to run the ballast. One of them burnt out or got damaged and now I'm in the process of replacing them again with another set. Mine came with the regular halogen projectors.
Yes, they are factory HID with burned out bulbs - when I lost one of the bulbs decided to go with a 8k bulb in both (bluer) and they have worked really well so far!
What kind of headlights are those my 2015 doesn’t have a layout like that
I have the 2014 forte ex, i have not found an h1 led that will fit into the high beam slot yet. Without modification or using a motorcycle led its prolly only possible on 2017 and above models.

This video definitely helped because both low beams on my 2016 went out on me lol
I’m glad it was useful!
My 2015 headlights don’t turn on the running daylight like dat
Same ! So that's our version that's missing it ?
Did your car come with factory hid? Yes this car had the tech package which included the factory hids.
Could you please provide the name of screwdriver set used ?
High beam led model please..

what was the part number for the low beams you used?
It's the D8S style. for some reason, googling the p/n on the box in the video didn't find the bulbs

How do I remove it from the adapter? I have a hard time removing mine.
Also the led lights I ordered are too fat on the base to screw in. I even went with number it said to order for my forte
So is it just the driver side high beam that is a pain with a screw in it?
Yes theres less room to work there
Hi if we install led on high beam does it gives any codes? Because it runs DRL too if im not mistake .
No codes shown with the lamps we are using!
Thank you
Not even a before and after in the night time up against a wall or on a dark road....
Hi Ivan, I should clarify that this was factory HIDs that the OEM bulbs had burned out on - so just swapping dead bulbs for new bulbs!
Thank you so much for posting!
No problem!
Could you include a link to the specific low beams you used?
Using these now - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RHMWWGQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
What is the high beam size
Hello, high beams should be H1.
Because mine are like yours
And I don’t won’t to get the wrong one
@@timothychildress5894 i just looked back at what i had ordered, they were H1 for the high beams
That tiny screw is a ridiculous design. Probably better off just pulling the entire headlight assembly out?
You probably could for sure but I had small hand helpers 🙂
