Toby got a bunny at the end of this garden update. Unfortunate for the bunny but a valuable lesson to the nearby critters. I was thinking about taking down the closed in garden area since some large limbs destroyed some sections of the fence. Now I know things have been nesting in there and so does Toby...I'll reuse as much as possible to eliminate unnecessary waste

      I recently did my rear brakes again (in the cold Michigan winter) and it was pretty tight. There's hasn't been any major issues with this vehicle since I've owned it. Just oil changes, headlights, tires, and brakes. At this point I've put almost 175k miles on it and we've been up and down the east coast a few times with no problem. It is a bit of a pain to work on but thankfully I've been capable of doing the work myself so far

    If your engine has a major problem and you have the ability to pull a engine which you clearly do, then more often than not it will indeed be much cheaper and easier to find another motor and just slap it in. I learned that over the years. I hope all goes well for your swap. Looks like you got the situation under control with what you have available to you. That takes both brains and guts and you got alot of both

    • @dobetter9375
      @dobetter9375 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was definitely sketchy. My brother isn't known for his patience and before I was able to go grab the tow straps he had strung the motor up with some 1" harbor freight ratchet straps. They did not hold for long.lol My intention was to rebuild this motor until the block got crack by my impatient brother lol. I had still planned to attempt to put together a 302 I found a good deal on but I'm realizing how much I don't have available to be able able to do that. I've been on the lookout for a finished engine and trans deal. Money and time off of work our the biggest hindrance for that endeavor

      @@dobetter9375 dang that sucks, hopefully he gained some valuable learning from his mistake. I'm a deep believer in everything happens for a reason, a good one even if we cant see it. I'm sure you will come across a good affordable deal and hopefully get the time to spend a few good days dropping the new engine and trans in and getting everything working they way you want it. you seem like a very busy person work wise

      @Quincy Neal the original motor had less hp than my 4cyl Kia Forte. I wasn't too torn up about not being able to use it lol. Not that I need a ton of power I would like to be able to take it up north via the highway once in a while without bogging down in the hills too bad.

    What is in it besides leaves, a couple pumpkins and chicken eggs? It would be helpful to know.

    • @dobetter9375
      @dobetter9375 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was mostly the leaves, grass clippings, compostable cardboard, and at that time I was eating broccoli all the time. Whatever compostable kitchen scraps went out as well. Any produce (fruits/vegetables) scraps we would have after cooking. It doesn't have to be an exact science. Kind of like making gravy, if you have too much of one type of ingredient just add more of the others. There's browns, greens, and water. You can Google a chart that would give you a better idea of ratios and what kinds of things to add but in general you don't want to include meat, fat/oil, or dairy. The egg you mention was kind of a one off thing. If they went into the pile if was because something was wrong with it, usually my clumsy self would drop them and sometimes they cracked so into the pile it went for convenience lol

    They say it’s better not to turn it really, maybe every 1-2 ahalf ass turns at that bc when you add Air to it it messes it up

    • @dobetter9375
      @dobetter9375 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The purpose of turning it is to add air. You don't want it to become anaerobic, meaning without oxygen unless you're trying to make humus. Turning adds air(oxygen) and supplies new material to all the microbes you want breaking the medium down into a bio-available form for your garden. There can be benefits of having a pile just sit but if you want compost you need to shimmy things around

    • @shaziachaudhry6240
      @shaziachaudhry6240 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep. Need to turn it to ensure Air. Compost heaps need, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen (air) and water

      @@JustinMentionedIt just like any and everybody else, people have different opinions. Personally, I agree with the comments above. Some composters will argue to death with you, though, over not turning the pile. I've had it happen to me. Maybe they are new? I don't know. I guess it comes down to experience. If you don't turn the pile it will turn into a mushy mess if you put enough ingredients into it.

    • @trumpetingangel
      @trumpetingangel 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JustinMentionedIt If. you give it enough time, it will break down. The bacteria from an aerobic pile are considered better for the garden, but Korean Natural Farming uses a (specific) anaerobic method, so there are variations that all seem to work.

    When i turn my piles i pull all the top and outer layers out then pull the core layers out seperately then put the outer layers in first with the old core layers now the top layers. I also add a good soak of water and alfalfa pellets in each layer. That bad boy will be hot within 8 hours of making pile.

      @itsyrboiiijustinnn4934 Honestly, it was an improvement, but not very much. I would say to get LED installed if you can. I just feel like my car's lights don't shine very far out. Instead, it's more closers to the ground, and I even tried adjusting them.

    What about the high beam headlight bulb on a 2015 kia forte lx? Mine has some kind of metal clip and I keep getting the wrong bulb I think.

    • @dobetter9375
      @dobetter9375 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just took a look at mine. I see the metal retainer you're talking about. I'm not 100% certain but I would think you have to unscrew that metal piece from the look of it. I'd be careful not to drop the screws, use a magnetic bit if you have one handy. Maybe even put a piece of paper/cardboard under it with something to catch the screws. There's usually a book or computer to look up what bulb you need but remember that Google can be your friend too. It may also be in your manual if you have it.

    Just wanted you to know your height adjustment bar was assembled upside down. It's that black bar thing right at the back, sticking up. Take that bar, flip it, and put it in from the underside. The long end that looks like a ski points in the direction of the engine. You may have already fixed this, but I just wanted to let you know. Mine was bought unboxed and assembled at The Home Depot, and they put the bar on the same (wrong) way, even though the instructions said otherwise (as I stated). Did you fully assemble yours, or did you buy it pre assembled?

    • @dobetter9375
      @dobetter9375 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bought it pre-assembled. The employee at the home depot didn't seem to know what was going on.lol they misplaced the instructions and whatever else should've came with the machine ex.oil, wrench(s) manual etc. I've been manually holding it to the depth I want and make 2 or 3 passes before letting it dig all the way in so I haven't even bothered to check that bar. Thanks for the advice though. I might take a look when I get home
