I love this interpertation of getting divine help from those he lost and gods. Also Posedian you deserved that it is your fault he turned into a monster.
Moly making a return is actually such a good idea for getting the crew back/winning the fight without seeming like an ass pull. Honestly kinda sad they didn't think of it for the official animatics now.
If I had a nickle for every time the wind bag made oddysseus a biblically accurate angel I'd have 2 nickles which isn't a lot but damn its cool. Great animatic :)
I've always envisioned the 600 soldiers attacking with him in this moment and you captured that so perfectly here - especially with how Odysseus is an archer. It's just perfect.
Not only is he an archer, This was made spectacularly disrespectful, Oddyseus left his bow at home when going to war because it was considered disrespectful to kill someone with a bow as it was a hunting tool, not a weapon of war. in simple terms, Ody here just called Poseidon a bitch ass prey animal. Not worthy of the sword.
Another animatic that makes me THINK and I LOVE IT. I absolutely adore how Hermes-coded you made Ody’s power up because you managed to make that SPEAK on multiple levels. We are reminded of how Hermes IS his great-grandfather, and the aspects of him as an entity are now reflected in Odysseus’ own “growth.” Odysseus has grown beyond the definition of a normal mortal and is matching up against monsters and gods with the most obvious conclusion of him becoming Athena's image of a Warrior of the Mind, but with more connections to Hermes here. Firstly, the way you went about it connects and makes a great transition from Dangerous. A big part of the Odyssey is that, well, no one can ever get away from the gods. If one of them is screwing you over, another is assisting you, and vice versa. That’s a huge point of the Trojan War arc, with the end of The Horse and The Infant being especially poignant about it. If a god was able to be hurt by a human, there was nearly always divine assistance involved. (Ex. Athena guided the bow or gave the ability to see the divine.) Dangerous was a Hermes song of essentially him leaning into his domain as the protector of travelers. With the way you went about it, it feels like Hermes is still assisting, which in turn makes the whole fight scene feel more canonically accurate and consistent. Even more interesting is how this drew on so many aspects of Hermes’ godhood domains. Most obviously, you have the wings on Ody’s back, his heel, and his head which are tied to the sheer speed he has going on. But I think it and this situation also provide an interesting parallel to Hermes' representation as an entity that traverses back and forth over boundaries. His entire role as a messenger is someone who consistently crosses the boundaries between the mortal and the divine. Meanwhile, at this moment, we have the climax of Odysseus’ growth as a character-hero-monster to finally face off against a GOD. He is teetering between two worlds (mortal and god), teetering to make this happen. I especially love how now the spirits of the crew appearing making SENSE. After all, the most obvious example of Hermes’ boundary crossing is his role as a psychopomp, crossing the line between life and death. TLDR: Odysseus is a chip off the old block. 😂🤣 EDIT: I returned and oh wow I really did write this while half-asleep. Corrected grammar and finished sentences.
Can I just start by saying how much I love your analysis!!! Yes Ody's powerup is enhanced by Hermes! I especially love your take on the dead soldiers. I feel like we often forget that Hermes is one of the only Olympians who freely travelers between the underworld and Olympus. This is amazing considering you wrote this while half asleep! Hope you look forward to my Dangerous animatic!!
I love the sort of "mandate of heaven" look Ody had going on with the wind from the wind bag. It's an excellent way to translate a sort of tapping into all of the divinity that he's been touched by in his life (being biologically related to Hermes, having Athena as his patron, and that's nothing to mention the Molly, his interactions with Poseidon, Zeus, and Calypso, all of those scrapes with divinity build up)
YOOOO OMG THE WIND LOOKING LIKE WINGS ON ODY IS SO COOL!! ESPECIALLY WHEN HE PULLED AN ARROW WOWOWOWO THAT LIGHTNING PART AND ODY'S EYES TURNING RED WAS DAMN MENACING. YOO THAT VIOLENCE PART IS **CHEF'S KISS**
Holy duck. This is amazing! There is so much I love I have to condense it to the top three: 1) the gory way Ody kept on stabbing Poseidon. You’re the first animator I’ve seen who takes advantage of the fact Poseidon can’t die, and actually had Ody stab Poseidon in places that would have killed mortals. For example, the neck and lungs 2) Biblically Accurate Ody summoning an army of *600* archers 3) Poseidon and Ody’s designs Great work! 👍
there was SO MUCH good about this, but my favorite aspect is the more fantastical design choices, the wings, the fin ears, those vine tattoos, so good! And I have to mention the welling tears.
Holy cow you did a fantastic job, showing me the pain and anguish of Odysseus the drowning opening is amazing. The rage in Odysseus eyes was incredible. The fear emphases’s eyes was stunning. You can feel the tension and power coming from each animation that you did great job absolutely stunning
You're really underrated dude. Like actually. I love the emotion and the actual anger Odysseus portrays, the scarf from The Odyssey, the flash of the monster in his eyes when he says, "You're going to call off that storm." When Poseidon calls him a monster. THEN WHEN HE OPENS THE WIND BAG.
This was INCREDIBLE, the expressions and the wings and the INTENSITY And I love how Poseidons blood is golden like described in so many legends, AHHHHHH this was so so cool!!!!!!!
I feel a lot of this is to "Shojo" or "Disney princess" in the way the characters were expressing themselves. But this 2:24 fucking perfect especially with the timing. Just a brief flash of darkness, with red contrasting the golden splash. Art in a frame. More of that please :)
And Odysseus became a super sayian. 😂 I love how much detail you put into this. The six hundred strike being Ody summoning his men and they all shoot arrows at Poseidon is amazing, also... Your character hugging Poseidon at the end is actually cute.❤ Well done. 👏👏👏👏
Yes!!! I love this animatic!!! Thank you so much for making this!!! I love your idea of Poseidon seeing that Odysseus has truly become the monster near the end of the torture sequence 2:56. Very well done. Can’t wait to see what is next.
I love that u showed how Odysseus is related to Hermes when he takes on this little power boost! after all he is his great grandson, with the feathers on his feet and behind his ears! He looks like a beautiful angel with the wings ❤
This was so cool to watch absolutely 10/10 the wings and everything was amazing and then him coming back to the moment after the please was a cool switch.
I absolutely adore this, i can't put into words just how enjoyable this video was to me. I adore the sheer expresion captured within Odysseous's face, it is simply amazing and helps to capture just how much he has suffered and how that has affected him. It feels more than human, and I feel like Achiless's rage within the Iliad would've been somewhat like it, both posses some divine blood after all. I also love how Poseidon reacted to the whole transformation, which was absolutely amazing by the way, refusing to stand down until the very last moment. He simply could not grasp a measly mortal managing to damage him. The scene with te ghosts of his dead comrades as well as Odysseous's flying was highly evocative and very, very good. I love how fluid the animation within this video is, every scene feels action packed and a right succesor to the prior one. I adore the evocations to Polyphemus made at the end, with Poseidon being damaged despite begging for mercy and being struck again and again. I don't know if you've read it, but I found it to have great allusions to when Diomedes stabbed Ares in the Iliad. Both Ares and Poseidon were beings who wreaked great destruction upon mortals without thinking much of it, stirring up wars and storms for their own amusement. Yet, when they were subject to pain as bronze gouge their flesh they grew cowardly and whimpering, they were simply not used to pain. I feel you captured that succintly with how Poseidon lost mmuch of his bravery. And the last scene with Odysseous was beautifully full of emotion, he is willing to od anything to get back home. Amazing work!
How amazing! 600 Strike makes me so happy at the beginning and middle, and then proud/horrified at the end. Thank you for putting in so much dedication!
Oh I LOVE this so much!!! How the magic of the windbag reaches out to him and lifts him up and how the combination of his ancestry, the moly and his soldiers just boiled over into him temporarily awakening god like powers! Like the moly gave him one last boost mixed with the aiding energies and magic! 🤩❤️ I also love how that last clank is Poseidon undoing the storm ❤ That torture was brutal and I literally GASPED when he got stabbed through the neck!
Thanks for noticing the moly effect, I tried to reference my previous animatic. Lol the neck stab was my fav. Although my sister said it was to brutal. 😅
This is without a doubt my favourite animation of any Epic song I have seen so far. OMG I love this so much, you are incredible. Thank you for this masterpiece! ❤❤
What i liked the most is the genuine pain and fear in Poseidon’s eyes, his expressions, the way he tries to get Odysseus to stop with cries and begging, the way Odysseus close his heart and the light in his eyes fades, the moment where Poseidon understands he created a monster…wow, this is truly my favorite Animatic so far, tbh u were already my favorite artists since i found ur “love in paradise animatic” but this just goes to confirms it, truly outstanding, gj really keep it up
I think you did a really good job showing that power up/video game vibe that Jay has always wanted for Epic. This animation is brilliant, my personal favorite for the song:)
Holy crap this is freaking INCREDIBLE!!!! Both of them are so insanely pretty, and the whole wind bag/600 souls scene is a wonderful interpretation🤩🤩🤩🤩
HOLY SHIT THIS IS INSANELY COOL mad eme tear up when you showed the flashback of euro and the crew and The beginningggg so good!! the wings, the scarf, the arrows, everything is such a unique way to look at it. having poseidon as a merman/siren type of creature is also so great, like I love everything about this fr
Dude..... My jaw f*cking dropped.... This is the exact reason why you are my favorite artist to have ever made animations for Epic.... this is absolute God tier artwork. Like, My jaw is now superglued to the floor with how amazing this is
Okay first of all, I absolutely adore your Poseidon design! Second of all this was absolutely horrifying, especially that shot where Ody was remembering all the way in which his friends died and then the golden bloody splatter all over the image!!
This is awesome! Love all the soldiers firing their arrows at Poseidon to bring him down for the final attack and the brutality of Odysseus stabbing Poseidon in the throat and both of them crying but for different reasons and the mouth animation of "next to my wife" Thanks so much for making and posting this animatic!
What a wonderful animatic. Love the takes on the sounds in the scenes and especially the 600 strike itself; I first heard the song & imagined it as a volley of arrows, your the first I've seen to draw that out & it looks wonderful. Awesome details on the eyes; from the godly power & strength, contempt, pain & the full on blankness of Odysseus on the attack, just wonderful.
oh my GOD where do i even begin. totally hit this out of the park!!! i love their expressions? they're frightening, pensive, sad, all in turn... gah. im getting emtoions too!!! i love ody's siren motif reveal, its so Chilling, and the "monster" frame. chefs kiss. i love the bit in 3:10 of the chime being the storm release. i loooooove the original scarf use!!!! and how ody's godlike blessings are a callback from your Wouldnt You Like animation!! fan fucking tastic, i love you so much
I love the gold blood. It sticks to what the myths say about the gods and it adds an inhuman aspect to them. It really feels like Odysseus is truly conquering a god rather than another monster such as the cyclops.
YES!!!! FINALLY!!! IM SORRY BUT FINALLY, FINALLY FOR THE FIRST TIME SOMEONE PROPERLY SHOWS ICHOR (golden blood of the gods) INSTEAD OF JUST REGULAR BLOOD IT MAKES IT SO MUCH MORE ACCURATE
LET'S GO BABYYYYY WE'RE HEREEEEE 0:21 And it's supersayan time!!! 0:30 just noticed poseidon on a waterpillar, clever 0:44 nono this is supersayan GOD 0:50 lil feathers in the hair so cute 0:57 how many wings do you want? Yes. 1:03 ody seraphim??? 1:09 also i imagined it similar to you this part 1:34 we goin with golden ichor okok 1:56 red eyes spotted 2:02 just noticed poseidon has one hell of an eyeliner lol 2:14 color change always cool 2:20 this hurt. Best fram tbh 2:36 ody's void eyes 2:45 for how much i like your drawings and composition i always think that emotionally charged moments need big movements, but i can understand why you choose it to keep it simple 2:55 monster indeed 3:06 eye returnin to normal and it killed me the storm disappearing like it was some sort of domain expansion fr jjk lol epic 3:23 always epic Good work as usual my dear!!! I'm still waitin for dangerous and/or not sorry for lovin you. But i'm patient. Like poseidon waitin ody for 7 years lol
I took all the wings and ran with it. There's a reason Hawks is my favorite MHA character. Of course, you would want a Dangerous animatic, well looks like that's the next one! Finally, I'll have a complete Heremes animatic.
Poseidon still serving vocals while being turned into sushi is a slay
Hmmm... yess.. sushification
This is great don’t stop talking
😂so true
You ever heard the theory that he does that because his pain is music to Odysseus's ears? Lol
thank you. i’ll go cry now
I love this interpertation of getting divine help from those he lost and gods. Also Posedian you deserved that it is your fault he turned into a monster.
Well in theory he used Poseidon's power against himself
Ares helped him out
@Animefan24 it’s “Poseidon”
Hermes and the Moly. Great callback to that time he gave his great grandson drug
I know right like Holy Moly
Lmao
Moly making a return is actually such a good idea for getting the crew back/winning the fight without seeming like an ass pull. Honestly kinda sad they didn't think of it for the official animatics now.
I like to imagine Hermes gave him some before he left
I LOVE HOW ODY GOT WINGS AND SUMMONS ARROWS
He got buff
His Hermes side of his family was showing then
better than ares randomly blessing him for no reason as the theories want to put in
Thanks! It's the first thing I envisioned when I heard this song. Hermes definitely helped him out.
Love the detail of the magic scarf from the original Odyssey! What a great Easter egg among so many spectacular details!
Glad you caught that!
If I had a nickle for every time the wind bag made oddysseus a biblically accurate angel I'd have 2 nickles which isn't a lot but damn its cool.
Great animatic :)
Lol
Who's the other one?
Yeah who?
Cuál?
Same
WHAT?! you actually know about the scarf Ody got in the odyssey?! Nice, not a lot of people are gonna catch that
Who was it from again
@@pandoratheclayIf I remember well it was from a random sea spirit/deity/goodness idk that met him after Calypso island
The nymph/goddess's name is Ino, btw
ohh yeahhhh it was the sea nymph ino’s scarf!

Poseidon all like: ‘wait why the name of Mount Olympus is the different beast motif playing’
Where
@@pandoratheclay Just after Poseidon mocks Odysseus that he is not gonna return home because he opened the bag.

oh my GOD where do i even begin. totally hit this out of the park!!! i love their expressions? they're frightening, pensive, sad, all in turn... gah. im getting emtoions too!!! i love ody's siren motif reveal, its so Chilling, and the "monster" frame. chefs kiss.
i love the bit in 3:10 of the chime being the storm release. i loooooove the original scarf use!!!! and how ody's godlike blessings are a callback from your Wouldnt You Like animation!! fan fucking tastic, i love you so much
OMG YOU REMEMBERED AMPHITRITE AND HAD HER HUGGING HIM...... you know she absolutely gave him a few smacks upside the head.
@@williambeck2372 haha that’s actually my persona 😅 but now I really wanna design Amphitrite!!
@@noir.hyacinth Still. So few people design or care about Poseidon's wife which is a shame cause she's actually kinda neat.
no reason to be sorry this is out of all of them my favorite animatic!
So good! The expressions! The divine assistance! The storm breaking!
OOHHH This is SUCH a beautiful interpretation !! I LOVE Odysseus getting Divine help
Love how it's Poseidon's ring finger that is covered in ichor as he moves his hand over Ithaca!
OHHH INO'S SCARF I LOVE IT YOU'RE AMAZING MWA MWA
I'm totally left. Speechless that was amazing. You really outdid yourself with this one!
Also Odysseus has the avatar State
Yas he did
Amphitrite at the end hugging her hubby
Guess Penelope and her aren't so different after all
AHHH FINALLYYYYY!!!! I was waiting so badly for your version. Gosh I love your style *^*
Thanks for waiting!
@ I hope to see more 🩷
This is a great interpretation. Love this temporarily divine Odysseus
LET'S GO BABYYYYY
WE'RE HEREEEEE
0:21 And it's supersayan time!!!
0:30 just noticed poseidon on a waterpillar, clever

0:57 how many wings do you want? Yes.
1:03 ody seraphim???
1:09 also i imagined it similar to you this part
1:34 we goin with golden ichor okok
1:56 red eyes spotted
2:02 just noticed poseidon has one hell of an eyeliner lol
2:14 color change always cool
2:20 this hurt. Best fram tbh
2:36 ody's void eyes
2:45 for how much i like your drawings and composition i always think that emotionally charged moments need big movements, but i can understand why you choose it to keep it simple
2:55 monster indeed
3:06 eye returnin to normal and it killed me the storm disappearing like it was some sort of domain expansion fr jjk lol epic
3:23 always epic
Good work as usual my dear!!!
@@noir.hyacinth YEEEYYYY I'M VERY HAPPYYYYY!!!! take ur time dear!!!
Love how Ody is pulling on the favor of Hermes here
This is the best 600 Strike animatic I've ever seen 😱
Yall remember that time 600 men gave a god the business. Poseidon don't want the smoke
Not the "next to my wife." With my no f*cks given 😂❤
I been hoping someone would animate stabbing Poseidon in the neck, really brutal despite the fluffy art style good job!
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO USED ICHOR INSTEAD OF HUMAN BLOOD
