I have a '61 fleetside that was originally my grandfather's. I have kept it garaged for the last 30 years, and it is mostly rust-free. But, the gas tank started leaking and I did not know it, and it caused some rust to start forming on the drivers side. I am looking forward to watching your videos and figuring out how to fix it.
Welcome aboard. Lots of videos here tackling the rust repairs in these trucks. Hope you find what you need, I have a couple new trucks I’ll be doing a lot of rust repair on in the coming months. Hope you stick around for those as well!
My dad & I replaced about ALL the metal on my sons 66 C10 p.up a while back ! These Truck are famous for rust, big difference in metal today & that day ! ✌
I cant tell you how valuable your info is for me. I was lucky enough to get a 66 gmc stepside with the ol straight 6. Im new to this type of restoration effort. So keep the videos coming!! Thank you
I like the way you edit your video, makes it easy to watch. I have a 63 C10 I'm working on, isn't as rusty as yours but it still needs some rust repair
I’m envious. Always wanted to try that. If I could go back I probably would have done that, a little more money but the end result is mint from what I’ve seem
I really like this. I think I only need my outer rocker and cab corner replaced. I don't know how to weld and don't own one but I will have to learn now. I am going to do this.
I definitely like the TH-cam to talk with other hobbyists it’s pretty cool I’ve been prepping c10 for two paint to get ready to mount bed . Which I had to shorten to match frame family member had cut down 12” so it wil be a mid bed size , been alot if work . I posted a lot of it my TH-cam page .
Connecting with others is probably my favourite thing about TH-cam, seeing what other guys are doing in the garage, not just the big dollar million subscriber guys but the grass roots real deal guys. That’s what I enjoy.
You can do this, it’s easier than you think. Get yourself a welder or a friend with a welder and get in there. If you make a mistake, cut it out and start over. It’s not that bad, I promise
Thanks for sharing, great video, my 66 driver side looks like your lol. Was afraid to do mind but after seeing you video I am going to give mine go at it!
I don’t know it looks like it didn’t turn out S well as I thought it would some times just over the top of old floor in some areas works fine and seal it seam sealer afterwards .
I’ve done both, lap joints and butt joints, I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out to be honest. But nothing wrong with a lap joint in a floor, I agree, the factory did it for years too😊
good work son, you got the same problem i got, have to put light on my welding area, otherwise my bead will be 2 inches away from where i wanted it ha ha
I’ve been cussed out by old timer for doing it on my Studebaker doors but on floors seemed fine doing butt joint right now on patch on 53 c cab Stude hood and still a pain ! I’ll post mine fix or complete job on my page . I also have a couple trucks listed and sell Stude truck fenders I. Fiberglass .
@shortcutgarage so where'd you get the long inner rocker in question if not from LMC? They were the only ones I found that had the outer floor section. Most were just the vertical flat portion and maybe the bend under the sill plates
@@maggs131 jeez, Rockauto has them, KMS Tools off the top of my head, I think they call it outter floor / Inner rocker or something. I’ve seen plenty of them
New subscriber here. I like your attitude and approach to this project! Great work! I’m excited to get after the rockers on my 65.
Welcome aboard!! I hope it all works out for you bud!

Don’t overthink it. It’s just metal. Great job and video. 👍
Thanks Darrell!! I appreciate the support!
Floor, you mean what's left. Great job.😊
I’ll get what’s right this week lol

I agree. Most of the ones I’ve owned needed all the metal replaced, rockers, mounts, supports, floors, A & B Pillar extensions….the works

Floor and rockers turned out awesome.

Im not even done watching and I'm jealous of your handy work. I have a 65 C10 which is not drivable yet cause I can't weld to fix finishing the job

Another great video!
Thanks Brian! I appreciate the support!
Thanks for the video, I’m about to tackle this job soon.. I’ve been a bit intimidated but I think I’ll do ok now
You’ll be fine, it’s quite intimidating the first go round but really….it shouldn’t be. Let me know how it goes
Looks so easy when you do it :D
Don’t let the time lapse fool you lol. Actually it’s not that bad, I always used to work myself up over this stuff. It’s silly really
Nice welds Ron!
Glad you like them!
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Randy!
I like this guy
He’s (me) a likable hack lol

You just gained a subscriber! I wouldn’t mind seeing that at all! I love learning different ways of doing repairs
Was that long inner rocker from LMC?
Not LMC stuff but yes. The long inner rocker

Just went on Rockauto. Click on floor, then rear left outter or right outter. They have them GMK414251060L or GMK414251060R
👍🔥😍
That looks amazing for a amateur
Thanks! I’m trying!!
Enjoying your videos - good work on the rust. But please drop the music - it detracts from the content.
Thanks for the feedback!
No, the music is great throughout the sped up parts. Adds a level of professionalism.
@@RTdeluxe Do you think everyone viewer likes the same kind of music?
