I did this for about 4 minutes. I heard my neck crack several times, and I felt like my head was floating after. I suffer from migraines - sometimes 3-4 times in a month - and nearly daily headaches. It felt so good to get this stretch. I’ll definitely be doing it again soon, and for at least double the amount of time. This was my first try. Wonderful so far.
this method literally saved my life from the moment i tried and still does. i used a flex band wrapped around the bed head while lying down rather than a stiff towel to door attachment. started with a very low tension initially and slowly increased the tension later on. always watch out for tingling sensations or worse desensitization in your upper back, arms and especially hands and fingers and loosen the wrap around your head immediately. desensitization literally means you're doing no good but harm to the misaligned spine chord causing nerve damage. definitely do not hurry this process. also after all these warnings, needless to say, avoid those chiroprctor stunt shows, y-strap on type cervix pulls, at all costs! (please find orthopedics surgeons warnings on pulling out cervical spine with abrupt force on youtube, you could be paralyzed!)
I went to Body Logic a couple of months ago because the pain in my neck and arm were unbearable. I couldn't lift anything without being in pain, and I didn't have range of motion. Hannah (physical therapist) gave me traction exercises to do daily and my pain has basically gone away! This exercise is one that I LOVE doing. It's cheap, easy, feels amazing, and works! Many thanks to Hannah at Body Logic!!
Thank you very much. I was dreaming of being able to do this but can't afford a chiropractor and since I live alone I don't have anyone to help me to do it since this video shows self administrated neck traction I'm definitely gonna try it.
I've been using this method for about 20 years, a lot of us carry stress in the neck and shoulders. this is a reliable and immediate way to get relief. best results come after 10 minutes.
Hello, thanks for this video. I just wondered, if doing this for 10 minutes does not provide any pain relief, should I persist? Do I need to it several times a day and then see relief after a while? Or it means this treatment is not for me? thank you in advance!
i had to try 3 4 tune a good 10 minute to find the corect angle to pull corectly, angle has to be very steep to pull almost verticaly. for me pillow was under shoulder and head fully holded by the strap
if your neck is really messed up, 10 min minimum, repeat as necessary. you might need to exert more pressure but dont push it to far. You should probably see a chiropractor. PT of any kind rarely produces immediate and complete relief. It probably took a long time for you to get to the point your at.

Try acupuncture for migraine, it really helps. I got 4 treatments and now for almost 2 years I don't have migraine anymore

Wonderful thank you
Thanks a lot !!!
I just did this with my resistance bands. Works amazing.
not a bad idea but seems like that would be kind of uncomfortable.
@@valerietripp4772 on the contrary, flexbands were much more comfortable for longer time periods. i suggest bands rather than a stiff towel. try it!
Thanks!
Awesome

Ottimo e senza spendere soldi.

Ya got hosed, brother!
Obama’s fault.
This may provide relief for some, but, for me, it does not stretch the neck enough.
This vidio is selfexplanatory. But i can understand it best in marathi. Can you kindly translate it in marathi.

@valerie Tripp thank you for your replies, very grateful. Neck is still very painful!
Why would you not show us how you attached the rope to the towel - the most needed explanation
I would recommend to tie a knot
Boa!
من كثرة الألم ثبت حبل في سقف غرفة النوم وتعلقت من رقبتي ورفعت قدمي
I tried it and the pain got so severe I couldn't stand 3-5 seconds of it.
Y strap 9 years in advance
Interesting. A bit Alexander.
I can see someone dieing from this and not saying they saw it on TH-cam.
10-12 minutes of cervical traction is actually more effective .
